The Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 686: Death of Harry Potter

Chapter 686: Death of Harry Potter
There was silence in the playground and in the castle, a terrifying silence.

Everyone was looking at Voldemort, at his pale face, and at the corpse floating above him - the corpse of Harry Potter.

"No!"

The scream was horrible, for no one had ever imagined, never dreamed, that Professor McGonagall could make such a sound.

The Death Eaters scattered in a line and were partying. They were laughing and dancing, celebrating the death of Harry Potter and the victory that was about to be achieved.

Harry Potter is the child of prophecy and the nemesis of Voldemort. Only he can stop Voldemort.

And now, he's dead! Voldemort will be unstoppable, and the Death Eaters will be invincible!
"No!"

"No!"

"Harry! Harry!"

Ron, Hermione and Ginny's voices were even more mournful than McGonagall's; Sirius hung his hands in despair, staring blankly at the body of his godson; Lupin was equally desperate, his eyes had lost their luster and had become cloudy.

Snape was also looking at Harry's body. He had known that Harry would die at the hands of Voldemort, but he didn't know that he would be so sad when this moment came.

Their shouts were like a detonator, and the survivors rose up in response, cursing the Death Eaters at the top of their lungs, and finally -

“Silence!” Voldemort shouted. There was a bang, a flash of light, and everyone fell silent. “It’s over. The war is over. Even though I lost half my men, I won.”

"The Boy-Who-Lived is dead! He was killed while trying to save himself! He shamelessly left you behind!"

Voldemort said loudly, seeming to be complacent about his own lies and laughing "hehehe".

With a dull thud, Harry's body was thrown onto the open ground. The limp corpse faced the night sky, his glasses tilted to one side, and his chest was motionless.

"Heart-breaking and bone-cutting!"

A fierce red light shot towards Harry Potter's body, but there was no reaction at all. The cruel Cruciatus Curse once again confirmed his death.

Even those who are reluctant to believe it have to believe this cruel fact: Harry Potter is dead, killed by Voldemort. Is there any point in continuing to resist?

Voldemort's speech was not over yet.

He continued, "Now, put down your weapons, kneel down, and swear allegiance to the great Lord Voldemort. You will be pardoned. Your parents, children, brothers and sisters will also be forgiven and continue to live, and you and I will enter the new world we will build together. If anyone dares to resist, regardless of men, women and children, they will be killed without mercy, and their families will all be killed."

The Death Eaters cheered, stamped their feet, and loudly jeered at the people in front of the castle, laughing at their foolish resistance.

Bellatrix Lestrange pointed her wand toward the sky and shouted excitedly, "The skeleton has reappeared!"

The ugly, terrifying Dark Mark appeared, becoming the only constellation in the night sky.

Cries of despair, helplessness and sadness converged in front of the castle. Countless tears fell, crying not only for Harry Potter's misfortune, but also for their own misery.

At this moment, Neville Longbottom limped out of the crowd and walked towards Harry Potter's body in the open space.

“Who is this?” said Voldemort in a soft, snake-like hiss. “Will you be the first to swear allegiance to me, or will you show the consequences of continuing to resist after defeat?”

Bellatrix laughed happily. "It's Neville Longbottom, my Lord! The son of the Auror couple, remember?"

"Shut up! Evil woman!" Mrs. Longbottom shouted loudly. She believed that her grandson would be as brave as his father and would never bend the knee to Voldemort.

"Ah, I remember now." Voldemort looked at Neville with pity, "You are a pure-blood wizard, right, my child? Come on, kneel down and swear to me!"

As Voldemort finished his words, many people felt their knees as heavy as if they were filled with lead, and it seemed that only kneeling could relieve the pain in their legs.

"It doesn't matter if Harry died, people die every day! We lost Harry Potter tonight, and we lost many people, but they will not die in vain! Regulus Black, Albus Dumbledore, they will never walk alone!"

Neville Longbottom shouted bravely as he lit the torch of renewed resistance!

"Our resistance will never stop! Dumbledore's Army!" Neville shouted again, and the crowd immediately responded with enthusiasm, and the crying stopped at this moment. Neville rushed to Harry's body on the open ground at a faster speed. He wanted to take Harry's body back and never let Voldemort ravage and defile Harry again!

Voldemort was laughing, cold and cruel.

Bellatrix, who had come close to him, raised her wand and pointed it at Neville - "Avada Kedavra!"

The golden-red, bright and warm flames enveloped Neville Longbottom, and the killing curse failed to kill him. The next second, the fire flashed, and Neville appeared behind Ada.

The crowd roared again.

Yes, they had lost many people, friends, family...Albus Dumbledore, Pius Thicknesse, Alastor Moody, and Harry Potter...

But they still have themselves, they still have Esmeralda Drizzt, everything is not over yet, and death is not the end!

"Drizzt, your resistance is meaningless." Voldemort was suppressing his anger, "Just like him, he will end up like you."

As he spoke, Voldemort pointed to the Black Lake, where Albus Dumbledore was buried. Voldemort wanted to kill Ada, just like he killed Dumbledore and Harry.

Ada patted Neville on the shoulder and slowly walked out of the crowd.

"Proud and arrogant, Tom," Ida said slowly. "Stupid and extremely stupid behavior. What gives you this illusion that you have won?"

Voldemort looked around, then looked at Harry's body on the ground, expressing his confidence in a silent way and refuting Ada.

"What about you, Drizzt? What gives you confidence?" Voldemort asked. "Is it the invincible wand in your hand, or is it Gellert Grindelwald?"

Voldemort laughed wildly and continued, "The Deathly Hallows, the invincible Old Wand, is the wand with the most defeats. How can you defeat me? Gellert Grindelwald is a loser, a coward who imprisoned himself in Nurmengard. As his disciple, how much of his skills have you inherited?"

The relationship between Grindelwald and Ada was made public for the first time, and no one would think it was a false accusation coming from Voldemort's mouth.

"You are not worthy to mention Gellert's name, Tom. Gellert Grindelwald is a thousand times greater than you." Ada did not hide anything and readily admitted her relationship with the first Dark Lord.

Ida turned her head and looked toward the Black Lake. She said, "To this day, he still has his supporters in Europe. What about you? When you fell, your loyal servants abandoned you and left you. Do you want me to read out their names one by one?"

When Voldemort was defeated, he was abandoned by his loyal Death Eaters.

A group of people led by Lucius Malfoy "turned from darkness to light", claiming that they followed Voldemort and committed numerous crimes because they were under the Imperius Curse.

Laughter was heard, and this time the people who were laughing were the people guarding Hogwarts. They were laughing at Voldemort who claimed to be great.

How can a person who has been betrayed repeatedly by his subordinates have the qualifications to call himself great?

"Regulus learned your secret and stole it. Lucius turned to the light and told the Ministry of Magic where you were hiding. You had no choice but to hide in a desperate situation. How was the scenery at Pendle Hill?"

Ada continues to uncover Voldemort's scars.

She said, "And Severus Snape, who reported your every move to Dumbledore and to me. We knew everything about your actions."

“They, like you, will pay the price for their stupidity!” Voldemort’s scarlet eyes were filled with rage, and his yew wand kept spitting sparks.

"Do you know the snake you trust the most, Nagini, and where she came from?"

"She is an unfortunate blood-cursed orc. She used to be a kind and beautiful girl. She knew Dumbledore and Grindelwald." Ida continued, "Until she completely turned into a beast and became your friend."

Contempt and disdain, every word Ada uttered was a mockery of Voldemort. However, revealing Nagini's identity was not the end of the mockery, but just the beginning.

Ida continued: "You don't know, you know nothing. Just like you think Nagini is loyal to you, but you don't know that her true friend is someone else. She showed her best side to her best friend, but you didn't get a penny."

"And you, you're just so smug about getting a stupid beast. Pathetic! Pathetic!"
