Chapter 674: Battle of Hogwarts (Part )

It was approaching midnight and Hogwarts was ready for battle.

Flitwick, Sprout and Professor McGonagall led the battle teams to the three tallest towers - Ravenclaw Tower, Astronomy Tower and Gryffindor Tower - where the view was unobstructed and the position was advantageous for performing magic.

Sirius and Lupin led the team into the playground, using their bodies to block the Death Eaters' attack and build the strongest wall in front of the castle.

Someone is needed to organize and guard the entrances to the school. Fred and George volunteered to take on the task. The two brothers will work with the members of Dawn to complete the task of guarding the entrances and exits.

The Ministry of Magic will be responsible for defending the area outside the school. Mr. Weasley and Kingsley will be responsible for commanding the battle outside the school, trying to keep the Death Eaters in Hogsmeade and prevent the war from reaching the school.

The students who stayed behind crowded in front of the podium, pushing and shoving for a spot, waiting to be assigned to a team and receive instructions.

All the statues and suits of armor along the corridor leapt from their plinths, and from the echoes of the crashes upstairs and downstairs it seemed that the same thing was happening in every corner of the castle.

"Hogwarts is under threat!" Professor McGonagall shouted, "Take your positions outside the school, protect us, and do your duty to our school!"

With clacking sounds and shouting, a group of moving statues - including some animal statues - hurried past the students. Some were small, while others were larger than people. They were jingling in armor and wielding swords and cone-shaped balls strung on chains.

"Professor McGonagall seems to like this spell very much?" said Fred. He, George and Ada had moved to them. He would patrol the entrances and exits with his twin brother soon.

Minerva McGonagall's usually serious face flushed, with a hint of excitement.

"I think so." Ada said, "Remember the giant chessboard that guards the Philosopher's Stone? Those chess pieces were given 'soul' and 'mission' by Professor McGonagall."

"That's a pretty amazing spell!" George snapped his fingers, then said, "We should get going. It's a tough job, Fred."

Fred glanced at the night outside the door and said, "Of course, George, let me enjoy this beautiful night!"

Fred withdrew his gaze and searched the crowded hallway with students. He continued, "Seamus, Seamus Finnigan! Let us see your talent, please!"

Gryffindor, a man with light brown hair, squeezed through the crowd and said, "Uh... Fred, George, do you really want to do that?"

The twins didn't answer, but Ada spoke up: "Boom! Mr. Finnigan, art is explosion!"

This sentence was said by a famous architect in Japan, who was called the Picasso of Japan. It was not Patrick who played with self-explosion but didn't kill anyone. After hearing what Ada said, Seamus Finnigan showed excitement on his face. It was the first time that the explosive genius of Gryffindor was praised for his "explosion".

"Now, the war begins." Voldemort's voice continued, "Death Eaters, kill everyone you see!"

Silence engulfed the people once again, and then there was another explosion, and it seemed as if a green flare was rising in the night sky in the distance. The light exploded in the dark sky - a huge, emerald green skeleton appeared, and a huge python emerged from the skeleton's mouth.

Dark Mark! That's the signal for the Death Eaters to attack Hogsmeade! It's also the signal for the final battle!
Ida walked out of the castle step by step, she stood on the playground and watched the Dark Mark rise higher and higher. Ida was waiting, waiting for Snape to bring her good news, or bad news.

In Hogsmeade, more than a hundred Aurors were on high alert. They could see the green Dark Mark in the night sky more clearly because it was right above their heads, in Hogsmeade.

The Dark Mark once frightened the entire British wizarding world, and the Aurors were inevitably filled with fear. Despite this, no Auror retreated, as they were assembled here for the final battle to stop the Death Eaters' attack.

As the Dark Mark rose into the sky, the decisive battle began. Death Eaters, werewolves, giants, Dementors, and other coalition forces under Voldemort surged towards Hogsmeade like a tide.

The thumping footsteps of giants, the terrifying howls of werewolves, and the shouts of Death Eaters filled all directions of the village.

"Aurors, meet the enemy!" Mr. Weasley shouted loudly. His resolute voice was not drowned out by the shouts of killing. The Aurors raised their wands and aimed at the enemies surging in the darkness.

Kingsley Shacklebolt took the first step, and a thick red light cut through the night sky and hit the Death Eaters who were rushing towards him.

Screams, shouts, and cries of pain suddenly rang out in the village, and colorful spells illuminated Hogsmeade as if it were daytime.

The fastest ones were the werewolves, howling and rushing towards the Aurors, eager to drink blood. However, the werewolves were greeted with only continuous spells from the Aurors, as if they were being shot in a queue, and the werewolves fell one after another.

But the werewolves were not completely useless. They drained the Aurors' attention and prevented them from paying attention to the giants, which were more lethal.
