The Hogwarts Emerald
Chapter 643 Harry and Dumbledore
Chapter 643 Harry and Dumbledore
In the following days, Bill and Lupin found Mad-Eye's body, and the members of the Order of the Phoenix held a simple funeral for the hero. However, the sadness and shock of losing Moody still remained in the Burrow.
The Ministry of Magic inscribed Moody's name on the memorial, below Dumbledore's, and the Daily Prophet published an obituary mourning the tragic death of the heroic Auror.
As the number of deaths and disappearances increases, the situation in the wizarding world deteriorates. People are afraid of Voldemort and the Death Eaters, and they are afraid that one day their families will be destroyed.
Even within the Ministry, terrible rumors were spreading everywhere, and more and more people were resigning because they really didn't want to be at the forefront of the fight against Voldemort.
Lambs are just lambs after all, and they can never transform into fierce lions. Once the situation is unfavorable, they will turn back into docile sheep, only crying and waiting for others to rescue them.
It was under such terrible circumstances that the Burrow welcomed Harry Potter's seventeenth birthday.
From this day on, Harry became an adult and no longer a child, although the burden on his shoulders was no longer something a child should bear.
Harry received many gifts early in the morning. The Weasleys gave him a gold watch that once belonged to Fabian Prewett, a new looking glass from Hermione, a magic razor from Bill and Fleur, chocolates from the Delacours, joke products from the twins, and so on.
The worst gift was Ron's, a love secret book called "12 Secrets to Charming Witches". Instead of reading the secret book, they could have improved their emotional intelligence, and they wouldn't have stayed single for so long.
The best gift was naturally from Ginny. A lover's hug and kiss was the greatest comfort in this difficult moment.
Even though they had "broken up" peacefully for several days.
At noon, Ada came to the Burrow in a sun that was hotter than Voldemort's. She prepared a unique birthday gift for Harry and also brought Dumbledore's will.
At this time, Harry, Ron and Hermione were packing up in their room. In two days, Ron's bedroom would become Bill's wedding room. Poor little Ronnie, his status in the Burrow was probably equal to that of the old ghoul.
"You dumped her, so what are you trying to do now, seduce her?" said Ron, who might have had a gift for being the only one in the whole Burrow who happened to see Ginny and Harry kissing.
"I didn't seduce her," Harry said. Hermione was at a loss for words, wanting to join in, but not knowing whose side to take.
Ron raised a hand to silence them. "She was heartbroken when you suggested a clean break—"
Before Ron could vent his anger on his sister, the bedroom door was suddenly pushed open. Ron turned around and saw Ada in a white dress. The emerald necklace made her skin look even whiter and more delicate.
"I can hear you talking loudly from far away, Ron. You still haven't learned to speak softly." Ada said, and then changed the subject, "But I stand on your side this time."
As she spoke, she pushed Harry away and Ada sat on the bed with her handbag on the side. Harry, Ron and Hermione sat on the same bed.
Hermione felt that Ada was not here for Ginny's matter; Ron's face was beaming with joy, wishing that Ada could teach Harry a lesson; and Harry, Harry's left face and calf were aching...
With a snap of his fingers, the bedroom door closed automatically.
Ada then said, "If you were doing this for her own good, you shouldn't have messed with her at the end of the school year, Harry. But that's not why I came here today, and I don't want to get involved in your relationship."
Hermione's brows lit up, she felt that she had guessed right; Ron's face was no longer frowning, and he hit Harry's thigh angrily; Harry's left face and calf no longer hurt, but his thigh and heart were twitching.
Opening her handbag, Ada pulled out a roll of parchment and a small drawstring bag. She said, "This is Dumbledore's will. He left something for you three."
With that, Ada handed the parchment and drawstring bag to the three people and asked them to read it themselves. She was too lazy to read Dumbledore's will. Besides, Ada had already read it.
Dumbledore left the Deluminator to Ron, a copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard to Hermione, and the Golden Snitch that Dumbledore caught when he first appeared in Harry's life.
Three little heads gathered in front of the parchment, read aloud what was written on it, and distributed the three relics among themselves.
The light put-out device that looks like a silver lighter can absorb the light beam with just a flick; some tattered but meaningful storybooks; and the golden snitch with physical memory that only Harry can open. At the end of the summer vacation, Ada searched the headmaster's office to try to find the resurrection stone in Dumbledore's hand. Professor McGonagall turned a blind eye to her behavior, and Dumbledore looked at her quietly in the portrait frame.
In the end, Ada found nothing except this will.
"Dumbledore... why would he leave something for us?" Ron asked in confusion. He had hardly spoken to the headmaster, but he had already received a gift. Ron could not think of any other possibility except Harry.
"Are you eager to know? I can take you to see him," said Ada. "It's not a big deal."
As soon as the words fell, Ron shrank behind his two friends, shaking his head like a rattle. Apparently Ron misunderstood what Ada meant, and he didn't think he could ask Dumbledore about the portrait.
After realizing that Ada was joking, Ron lowered his head in embarrassment and kept fiddling with the lights-out device in his hand.
Hermione also lowered her head as she flipped through The Tales of Beedle the Bard. The Golden Snitch spread its wings in Harry's hand without revealing the secret inside.
"Harry, can you lend me your Invisibility Cloak?" Ida asked. "I'm interested in it."
Harry nodded woodenly while studying the Golden Snitch in his hand. He dragged out his luggage and after searching for a while, he finally found the ancestral invisibility cloak and gave it to Ada.
It was a piece of silvery fabric that felt like it was woven with water. The feel alone was incomparable to the common goods sold outside.
"Golden Snitch." Ada said as she stretched out her hand.
Harry nodded woodenly, placed the Golden Snitch in Ada's hand as well, and sat back down.
Hermione and her two flaws stared at Ada blankly, not understanding what she was up to. Harry's ancestral invisibility cloak and the golden snitch that Harry caught for the first time, what secrets do these two things have?
[Ding! Hidden quest: The treasure of the three Peverell brothers has been completed, and the reward has been issued and is waiting to be claimed. ]
The task that had been posted for a long time has been completed. It was much easier than expected. I just had to hold them at the same time instead of having to keep them to myself.
When Ada won the Elder Wand from Dumbledore, one third of the task was completed; when she found Dumbledore's will and got the Golden Snitch, two thirds of the task was completed.
Today, after borrowing the invisibility cloak from Harry, Ada has collected all three Deathly Hallows and completed the system's hidden mission.
It was really completed too hastily. Even after seeing the system's reward, Ada still felt like a dream.
"Ada, is there something wrong with these two things?"
Ada was awakened by Hermione's voice. She returned the Invisibility Cloak and the Snitch to Harry, and then said, "No problem. I'm just trying to think about the problem from Dumbledore's perspective."
"Also, Harry, you have to remember one thing. The Invisibility Cloak is a treasure left to you by your father. It is unique. Don't lose it again." Ida continued, "And this Snitch, although I don't know why Dumbledore left it to you, but there is also a treasure hidden in it. It may be very important to you."
Hearing this, Harry carefully observed the Snitch in his hand. There was nothing on the shiny golden ball. Harry didn't know how to start, let alone take out the treasure inside.
"Okay, now that we've finished discussing official matters, it's time to talk about personal matters." Ada stood up and said, "Come on, Harry, I'll show you the gift I prepared."
Having said that, Ada walked out.
