Chapter 539 Gaunt’s Old House

Chapter 539 Gaunt’s Old House
Ada, who could not tell the location of the tomb by gold, did not stay on the hillside. Even if she could find the dragon and tell the location of the tomb by gold, the Gaunt House was not a big place, but the house of the descendants of Slytherin. Let's call it a house.

In the year when Voldemort's diary was causing trouble, Ada looked up the genealogy and information of many wizard families in order to find the Chamber of Secrets. She found the names of Marvolo Gaunt and Morfin Gaunt.

This summer, in order to fight Voldemort, Ada began to search for information related to Horcruxes. Through Thicknesse's relationship, Ada retrieved some internal documents and files of the Ministry of Magic, including the file of the murder of Muggle Frank a year ago.

Frank Bryce was the Riddle family's gardener until he was murdered by Voldemort at Riddle House in 1994.

Fifty years earlier, the owners of Riddle House, the Riddle family, also died in this house. The murderer was Morfin Gaunt, a descendant of Slytherin.

It is precisely because the information found is highly overlapping that Ada ended up in Little Hangleton, sleeping in the open. Ada wanted to find out the connection between Voldemort and Gaunt, perhaps from which she could get clues related to the Horcruxes.
The Ministry of Magic's files recorded the location of the Gaunt House, and officials from the Ministry of Magic had visited it twice. However, fifty years had passed, and the path leading to the Gaunt House had long been lost, so Ada had no way to find it.

In desperation, we had to climb the mountain to have a distant view. Because Little Hangleton Village is located between two steep slopes, climbing to the top of the mountain will give you a panoramic view of the village and everything nearby.

But even so, Ada still found nothing. She didn't find any strange buildings or suspicious magical aura in the valley.

Ada was at a loss on the top of the mountain, but her stomach started to growl at an inopportune time, and she then noticed that it was already noon. Ada decided to eat first and then try her luck in the valley below.

Because the downhill road was too steep, Ada couldn't help but trot. Her tent was pitched on a relatively flat hillside, facing the once magnificent Riddle Mansion.

From the outside, the tent looks no different from the ones used by Muggles, but the inside is a different world. The bedroom, living room, kitchen, and bathroom are all available, just like a portable one-bedroom apartment.

After having a simple lunch, washing off the sweat on her body, and enduring the hottest time of the day, Ada set out again.

This time, Ada wore her own gold-rimmed glasses. She pinned her hopes on finding the old house at Gaunt on this strange pair of glasses that had been covered in dust for many years.

Ada, wearing gold-rimmed glasses, walked around in circles in the valley. Guided by her glasses, she came to a group of tall and dense bushes.

Ada had passed by this place during her first search, but she didn't pay much attention to it at the time.

Ada was a little skeptical, but she still chose to believe the system. Ada raised her wand and chopped it like a machete. The bushes fell down with her movements and scattered on both sides.

What appeared in front of her was still a bush, and it seemed that Ada's efforts were in vain. But Ada had a feeling in her heart, and she turned into Bald Qiang this afternoon and chopped her way through.

As more and more bushes fell, a narrow dirt road appeared under my feet, winding, bumpy, and full of rocks. The deeper I went, the darker the clear sky became, and the ancient trees above my head blocked out the sunlight.

After walking a few more steps, Ada suddenly stopped. She found that there was something wrong with her vision. There was a thick, impenetrable black fog in front of her eyes.

Ada felt a strong sense of uneasiness in her heart. Her intuition told her that she could not move forward. The next step was the abyss, an abyss from which there was no escape. She tried to calm herself down. She knew that this uneasiness was because she was getting closer and closer to the old house of Gaunt.

This hidden house must be hiding a bigger secret, otherwise why would it be protected by black magic that affects people's minds?
The impoverished descendants of Slytherin did not have such a big card. If they could arrange such dark magic and still exist decades after their death, the Gaunt family would not have fallen into such a state.

Gradually, not only her vision and mentality were in trouble, in this black fog, Ada could no longer tell the direction, and lost the concept of time. If it weren't for the wand in her right hand, Ada wouldn't even be able to tell left from right.

Ada knew very well that she had to get out as soon as possible. If she continued to be trapped in the black fog, she would lose herself and sink forever.

Thick black fog and gloomy wind surrounded Ada, further attacking her mind, body, and soul... Ada knew that she could not delay any longer, so she struggled to cut her left palm, and hot red blood flowed out and merged into the black fog.

With blood as a sacrifice, the black fog became a little lighter than before. Taking this opportunity, the sluggish magic power in Ada's body began to operate efficiently again, and circles of silver, holy ripples spread outward, attacking the surrounding black fog.

The black fog and the silver light continued to collide without making any sound. Instead, the two completely different magics merged into one. The silver merged into the black, and the black contained the silver. The black fog became lighter and lighter, but the silver light waves continued.

It was not until the thick black fog dissipated that all of Ada's senses returned to normal. What she saw before her was not a bottomless cliff, but a small dark forest.

The magic wand passed across her palm again, and after a faint light, the wound healed. Ada adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses and walked towards the dark woods.

Walking through the woods, Ada saw through her glasses the remains of buildings half hidden in the trees. The old house belonging to the Gaunt family had collapsed, leaving only ruins.

Ada did not rush forward, but stood there to stack buffs for herself. Every failure is a lesson for her. She was too careless just now and fell into the black fog. She did not want to repeat the same mistake.

After a while, a faint white light appeared on Ada's body, and she stopped.

Bathed in the "holy light", Ada slowly walked towards the collapsed house. The wooden house was very small and looked shabby. It could be seen that the house was divided into three parts. The larger one in the middle should be the living room, and the bedrooms were on both sides.

Ada observed carefully and she felt the lingering magical aura around the cottage. This ominous aura made no grass grow around the cottage, and the big tree behind the house died early.

Ada felt a little unwilling. She was one step late, or perhaps more than one step late.

The magic circle protecting this wooden house has been destroyed, and the secrets hidden here have been taken away. Who could it be? Did Dumbledore find this place, or did Voldemort come back?

Ada walked around the cabin again, hoping to find something left. But she still found nothing. The people who came before her took away everything here, leaving only a dilapidated old house for the later ones.

Ada did not stop, the broken wood and rotten boards in front of her were of no use, and she could not trace back what had happened here. Instead of lamenting that she was a step late, she might as well speed up and catch up.

Turning around, Ada walked back in the direction she came from, to Little Hangleton Village, and never came back again.

Passing through the black fog again, Ada appeared on a thorny path. As soon as she came out, Ada waved her wand without hesitation, and a strong wind suddenly blew, blowing the bushes opposite her in a swirling manner.

As the strong wind blew, all the bushes were uprooted and crushed by the sharp blades hidden in the wind.

When the strong wind died down, a man in black clothes and a black robe appeared in the open space. His face was sallow and his black hair was greasy.

"An unexpected meeting." Ada said, "I always meet strange people in strange places recently, Professor Snape."

"Dumbledore sent me here," said Snape. "He has made some little arrangements here so he will know when someone is coming."

It seems that the secret hidden in the old Gaunt house was also taken away by Dumbledore. It is better to be taken away by the old man than to be moved away by Voldemort in advance. Ada asked: "What did Professor Dumbledore get?"

"A ring, a ring that has been passed down in the Gaunt family for a long time." Snape said, "As for the thing inside the ring, it no longer exists. Dumbledore destroyed him."

Ada nodded, and she asked again: "Professor was ordered to come here, not just to tell me this?"
