The Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 517 Reunion after a long absence

Chapter 517 Reunion after a long absence

If the Ministry of Magic is the political center of the British wizarding world, then Diagon Alley is the commercial center of the British wizarding world. The prosperity of Diagon Alley is well-known throughout the wizarding world.

But now it was late at night, and Diagon Alley had lost the hustle and bustle of the day. Most of the shops on both sides of the street were closed, and only a few pedestrians were reluctant to leave.

Ada was walking down the street, still wearing the robes she wore at Hogwarts. She wasn't that particular, and it was a hassle to change clothes after killing someone.

Continuing along the street, Ada stopped at the door of No. 93 Diagon Alley. Unlike other shops, this shop was closed for renovation. There was also a sign at the door that read:

Closed for renovation, only accepting orders
Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes WW
Looking at the sign, Ada chuckled. She was amused by the thought that flashed through her mind. The twins' last name was Weasley, so two letters W were added after the store name. What if Ada was brought along?

WWT? WWR? Or WWE?

Fortunately, it was late at night and no one was seen on the street. If someone saw Ada grinning at the sign, they would probably sigh and say: She is a nice girl, but unfortunately she is a fool.

After laughing, Ada knocked on the shop door.

After a while, I heard someone inside saying, "Here they come, here they come, who is it?"

Hearing the familiar voice coming from the store, Ada's fatigue seemed to be swept away. She deliberately pinched her throat and said, "I'm from the Diagon Alley Business Management Office. Come and take a look."

There was a sound of bolts, and the locked shop door was opened a crack, revealing a very familiar face with messy fiery red hair and some paint-like substance smeared on his face.

The door was pushed open suddenly, and George walked out excitedly and hugged Ada who was at the door.

Fred and George are twins, but there are some subtle differences in their appearance. George has a straighter nose, a more compact nose, and a thinner face than his twin brother Fred.

Although George was very happy to see Ada again, he did not get carried away. After the hug, George hurriedly pulled Ada into the store, and he looked around, and after confirming that no one was around, he bolted the store door again.

In the shop illuminated by orange lights, Ada looked carefully at everything in the store.

The decoration was only half completed. Rows of shelves were piled in front of the painted walls. There were also some small gadgets on the shelves that Ada had never seen before. They should be things that the twins developed and researched after she left.

At this moment, Fred's voice came from upstairs in the shop. He said, "George, what's going on?"

As Fred spoke, he walked downstairs quickly with his wand, and then he saw Ada standing there. Like George, Fred was also very excited, and he also hugged Ada who had been reunited for a long time.

Many things don't need to be said, just a gesture or a look, and those who understand will naturally understand.

Even though they hadn't seen each other for just a few months, it felt like a long time to the three of them.

She pulled three boxes of similar height and sat down casually. The twins stared at Ada without blinking. Even though Ada was thick-skinned, she felt a little feverish under the twins' scorching eyes.

After a long while, Fred suddenly said, "Have you gained weight?"

This sentence made Ada a little upset, and she almost fell off the box she was sitting on. This was not a big deal, George's next words made her want to lift the box up and smash it on the brothers' heads.

"It's okay to be a little fatter. She was too thin before." George said, "It's just that all the fat seems to have grown on her face."

The first sentence sounded pleasant to Ada, but she almost fell on her head when she heard the second sentence. The leisurely and comfortable life during this period did make Ada a little fat, but not as exaggerated as the twins said.

It's just because they haven't seen each other for a long time that the twins' eyes look particularly sharp. It's just like every time you go home for the New Year, the elders will say that you have lost weight. It's all because of the visual errors caused by not seeing each other for a long time.

"I'm not fat!" Ida squeezed out a sentence from her teeth. Even though she was a fierce warrior, she didn't like people saying she was fat, especially her face. At most, she could be described as round and cute.

After a joke, the three of them started chatting animatedly again.

There was no Umbridge, no Ministry of Magic, and no Voldemort. The only thing they talked about was this joke shop. There was no intrigue or conspiracy, only the dreams of the three of them when they were young.

It was not until dawn that the three of them went to bed.

It seemed that she had just laid down and closed her eyes when she was awakened by the noise downstairs. She slept for a short time and the place where she slept was also a makeshift wooden plank, but she slept very well. After putting away the blanket, Ada looked upstairs and saw that someone was delivering goods to her door, which was why there was some noise. Seeing that there was nothing to do, Ada went to wash up. By the time she had packed up, the outsiders in the store had left.

Going downstairs and sitting at the makeshift dining table, Ada looked expectantly at the covered breakfast in front of her. Before going to bed, George had asked her what she wanted for breakfast, and she answered casually, "Whatever."

Ada lifted the lid expectantly, imagining what kind of breakfast George would prepare for her. After seeing what was under the lid, Ada's face instantly fell.

Under the lid was a pan with a piece of parchment paper in it that read: Whatever.

There is nothing wrong with it. George did prepare it according to Ada's idea. Ada said it was up to her, so George prepared it up as she wanted. The logic was perfect and it was very rigorous.

Seeing the twins laughing so happily, Ada said unhappily, "Is it funny? Not at all. It's a joke from the last century. What's so funny about it?"

Ada's frustrated look made the twins laugh even more happily, and their throats were visible.

The two laughed and said: "It doesn't matter if the joke is old, as long as it is effective! What could be better than starting the day with a big laugh?"

Laughter is contagious, which is why comedies are funnier in theaters. Driven by the twins' laughter, Ada also laughed, and if she hadn't picked up the frying pan with her left hand, the scene would have been really beautiful.

Of course, George would not really let Ada eat parchment for breakfast. The breakfast for the three of them was the same, a three-piece set consisting of bread, fried eggs, and milk.

In addition to the breakfast set, George also handed Ada today's copy of the Daily Prophet. After many years of Ada's name appearing in the newspaper, she finally made it to the front page, much luckier than a certain rock singer.

The entire page was a single photo of Ada, taken when she participated in the Triwizard Tournament. At the bottom of the photo it was written:

wanted!!!

Esmeralda Drizzt
A wanted criminal at the Ministry of Magic, very dangerous! Tortured and brutally murdered Dolores Umbridge, Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Magic! Secretly murdered three Ministry of Magic employees! Suspected of being involved in Albus Dumbledore's treason!

……

Putting down the newspaper, Ada curled her lips. She felt that Cornelius Fudge was too stingy. The reward for providing accurate information to the Ministry of Magic was only 50 gold Galleons, and the reward for catching Ada was 500 gold Galleons.

What a joke! With such a small reward, who are you looking down on?

Also, what does "the criminal is cruel and bloodthirsty, if you encounter him, it is recommended to shoot him directly" mean? Now, Ada really wants to go to the Ministry of Magic to let Fudge see what cruelty and bloodthirstiness mean.

But you have to eat your food bite by bite and walk your journey step by step.

"You've finished reading it?" George asked. "You don't have anything to say after reading it?"

Ada didn't say anything and ate by herself. Everyone knew what she was going to do when she returned to England this time, but no one expected her to do it so decisively and directly.

"Don't play dumb," said Fred. "Silence is not the solution. Either you take us with you, or you tell us everything today so that we brothers know what's going on!"

Ada chopped the fried eggs on the plate into small pieces in a fit of anger, but the twins had no intention of letting her go.

"Blood debts must be repaid with blood. Everyone must pay the price for what they have done." Ada said, "Including me."

George said: "I don't know why you did this, I just hope you can consider Professor McGonagall's feelings. When she wakes up from her coma and knows your behavior, what do you think she will think?"

Professor McGonagall had always had high hopes for Ada. If Ada really fell into the endless darkness, she would probably be very sad!

The twins looked at each other and understood each other's thoughts. George continued, "We won't stop you or say anything else. We always believe in you."

Ada looked up at Fred and George, and the faces of the two brothers seemed to become a little blurry. Some people hold on to your sins and won't let you go, but there are always people who don't care about you at all and cross mountains and rivers to protect you, just like the long night always has dawn.

"I admit that what I did was a bit extreme, but I can't stop. I have reasons to do this," said Ada.
