The Hogwarts Emerald
Chapter 448 Escape
Chapter 448 Escape
In mid-air, the two giant beasts with flames all over their bodies were no longer in a stalemate at the beginning, and they gradually separated the superiority. In the repeated collisions and impacts, the black giant snake firmly gained the upper hand.
Compared with Voldemort, Ada was still inferior after all, and the gap between the two determined the direction of this battle from the very beginning.
Ada knew she couldn't delay any longer. If she did, no one would be able to save her, let alone Apparate.
When the time comes, the overwhelming black fire will pour down, and there will be no escape.
Ada gripped the wand tighter in her hand, and the magic power in her body flowed rapidly. With the blessing of her magic power, the blue Chimera regained its strength and struggled to temporarily equalize the losing situation.
It seemed like they were evenly matched again, but in fact it was just an illusion created by Ada. Ada wanted to confuse Voldemort in this way, making him think that she had no intention of running away, but was determined to fight to the end.
As for whether Voldemort was fooled or not, that is another matter and has nothing to do with Ada.
Anyway, after making all these arrangements, Ada would just run away regardless of whether Voldemort was fooled or not.
The blue flames burned fiercely, and the explosions were like the unwilling roar of a Chimera. The wand in his hand became even hotter and trembled uncontrollably, making it difficult to hold the wand.
At the moment when the Chimera briefly suppressed the black basilisk, Ada decisively cut the connection between the magic wand and the blue flame.
The Chimera, having lost its magic infusion, was once again at a disadvantage in an instant and was swallowed and assimilated by the black flames within a few seconds.
The integration of the blue flame made the black fire difficult to control. The flame began to become more violent, not distinguishing between friend and foe, as if it wanted to devour everything in the world.
Just a second before her robe was stained with flames, Ada's Apparition was successfully activated, and she left this sea of fire that was like hell on earth.
To the left of the churchyard there is a hillside with an old house on it, called "Riddle House", which overlooks the whole village of Little Hangleton.
Riddle Hall had once been a large, handsome house, the largest and most impressive building for miles around; but it had become damp, desolate, and uninhabited.
Ada appeared on this hillside, and now she was standing at the door of the old house, breathing the air here greedily. Although the air here also became scorching hot, it was better than the cemetery below.
After brushing shoulders with death several times in one night, even Ada couldn't help feeling nervous. She supported herself on her knees and retched twice.
Just as they were leaving the cemetery, Ada noticed that Voldemort, holding a wand, suddenly appeared behind her. She could even feel Voldemort's breathing becoming heavy due to his anger.
Ada stood up straight and looked at the old house in front of her. Several windows were sealed, the tiles on the roof were incomplete, and the ivy was crawling all over the house.
Ada didn't know why she chose such a place to show up. She felt that now was not the time to think about this. The most urgent thing was to find a container to hold water.
Two or three minutes ago, Ada was still in a fire. Even though she was a witch, after being burned by the high temperature and flames for so long, her body inevitably became dehydrated.
Nothing is more important than staying hydrated. Her throat is smoking, as if she had just swallowed a string of firecrackers. After this fight, Ada thinks she may have lost several pounds tonight.
Pushing open the door of the old house, Ada walked into the old house with a creaking sound.
As soon as Ada entered, a foul smell hit her nose, almost making her fall backwards. Turning into a spacious kitchen, she found a dirty cup in a broken cupboard.
Despite being extremely thirsty, Ada still wanted to clean the cup, and then used the "clear water like a spring" to create a cup of clear water to quench her thirst.
For the first time in her life, Ada realized that clean water could be so sweet and refreshing.
Just as Ada was about to drink the second glass of water, a fishy smell mixed with the unpleasant smell floating in the old house, and danger quietly approached her.
Ada raised the cup filled with water, but before she put it to her lips, she suddenly felt a fishy wind behind her head.
Ada's body reacted subconsciously. She immediately squatted down, then rolled on the ground, and rolled to the wall of the kitchen. With the fire outside the window, she saw clearly what had just attacked her.
It was an incredibly large snake, which looked at least twelve feet long. The snake made of fire, the snake-faced socket man who had regained his body, and the big snake hiding in the old house, Ada had a fight with snakes that night.
The big snake raised its head and stuck out its tongue. Its body curled up, ready to go for the next attack.
Ada was clinging to the wall, holding the magic wand in her right hand and an empty cup in her left hand. The water in the cup had been spilled out when it rolled over just now.
The man and the snake faced each other quietly. After a few particularly long seconds, the big snake attacked again, and its smelly mouth rushed swiftly towards Ada's neck.
At this moment, she didn't care about her elegance and posture at all. Ada rolled on the ground again. During the rolling process, her wand fired a crushing spell.
Although the snake was large, it was not bulky, but rather very flexible. The snake's body moved strangely in mid-air, just avoiding Ada's crushing curse. The man and the snake began to confront each other again.
Ada's brain started working again. She had exhausted countless brain cells that night.
Ada knew that she couldn't continue to confront them like this. The black flames in the cemetery below were also out of control. It wouldn't be long before they would burn to the old house. She needed to leave as soon as possible.
Moreover, the snake in front of him was so strange, and it appeared not far from the cemetery. Maybe it was Voldemort's pet. Slytherin played with the basilisk, so it was normal for Voldemort, as a descendant, to raise a snake.
The big snake curled up its body for the third time, making a rustling sound, and it wanted to launch an attack again.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Ada tried three things at once. She smashed the cup in her left hand hard at the curled-up body of the snake, and at the same time, the wand in her right hand fired a crushing spell at the snake's flat head, making it impossible for the snake to take care of both its head and tail.
At the same time, Ada activated the flash again, left the kitchen, and appeared outside the old house.
But before Ada could catch her breath, a green light came from behind her. Ada turned quickly, raised her left hand instantly, and a shield appeared. The spell hit the shield with a dull sound.
It's Voldemort! Voldemort Apparated on this hillside, too!
"You should have seen Nagini?" said Voldemort. "Oh, I forgot to tell you that this house is the house of my stupid, dirty Muggle father, Riddle House."
At the bottom of the hill, the black fire that had long been out of control burned everything it encountered, as if it was the end of the world. At this moment, the fire was moving towards the village of Little Hangleton.
The firelight illuminated Voldemort's profile, making him look even more terrifying.
The giant snake named Nagini slid out of the Riddle House, leaving a wide, winding trail on the ground.
Voldemort and Nagini, a man and a snake, formed a pincer attack on Ada.
"You are a good opponent, but you are too stupid to dare to be my enemy!" Voldemort continued, "Let me hear your last words. I hope you won't cry and look for your mother. I will be disappointed in you if you do so!"
Facing Voldemort's threat, Ada smiled and said, "I'm afraid you won't have the chance to kill me today. If you don't believe me, see for yourself."
Following the direction of Ada's finger, Voldemort's gaze refocused on the hillside below. A bright light curtain surrounded the blazing Fiendfyre, and the black flames rising into the sky were driven back to the cemetery.
"Albus Dumbledore!" said Voldemort, as he spotted Dumbledore's figure at the bottom of the hill.
"I'll teach you a lesson. Don't talk so much nonsense next time you do it." Ada said, and then she thrust out her wand, "Avada Kedavra!"
The green light had been on countless times tonight, but it had failed to work each time, and it failed again this time. Voldemort dodged Ada's sneak attack by leaning to the side.
“Esmeralda Drizzt, I remember your name. We will meet again.” Voldemort said coldly, “Good luck will not always favor you.”
Then, Voldemort waved his wide robe sleeves, and he and the giant snake named Nagini disappeared at the same time.
