The Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 433 Bad Premonition

Chapter 433 Bad Premonition

Keep quiet and wait and see. Dumbledore said so and did so. He did not take any measures against Moody in the school, as if he had not discovered anything.

Ada also stayed quiet and didn't do anything out of the ordinary. She was a person who knew what was important. But Ada's mentality had changed to some extent. She now looked at Moody at school as if she was watching a wonderful performance.

Watching Moody continue to teach students in the school, watching him take out the small hip flask he carried with him and pretending to drink the Polyjuice Potion as if nothing had happened...

Ada saw all of this, just like admiring the animal performance in a circus.

Ada finally realized the joy of her professors in her freshman year. It turned out to be such an interesting thing to pretend not to know and watch the exposed undercover continue his performance.

Sharing happiness is worse than enjoying it alone, so Ada shared her happiness with Fred and George.

It was not until then that the three of them remembered that they still had a half-finished map in their hands, a map that could see through Moody's disguise in the school.

Due to some technical problems and development difficulties, this map never met the three's expectations. The three didn't want to work so hard on a map anymore, so the development of the new alive point map was shelved indefinitely and became an unfinished project.

The last test run of this half-finished map even dates back to last school year.

As time went by, the three of them forgot about this unfinished map and threw it into Java, although they didn't know where Java was exactly.

While Ada was rummaging through boxes and drawers in her dormitory, trying to find the map again, Fred and George were also rummaging through their own dormitories. Then, the twins found the unfinished map under the foot of the table. The two brothers didn't even remember how long they had used it to support the table legs.

Almost a year later, the three of them spread out the map again, and as expected, they did not find Alastor Moody's name on the map. Moody, who was supposed to appear in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class, was replaced by Barty Crouch's name.

The shortcoming of the map appeared again. Barty Crouch and his son had the same name. If you just look at the map, you can't confirm whether this Barty Crouch is the old Barty who is missing, or the young Barty who should have been dead for a long time.

This is why Ada and the twins don’t care much about the map. The map still has too many shortcomings and is not perfect enough.

Time had jumped to the end of May, and the third event of the Triwizard Tournament was approaching. Finally, in the last week of May, the Warriors finally knew the content of the third event.

At half past eight that evening, Ada and Harry left the common room together, walked out of the castle, and blended into the overcast night.

The warriors received new instructions that they needed to go to the Quidditch field at nine o'clock tonight.

The two men walked along the dark grass towards the Quidditch pitch, and then entered the pitch through a gap between the stands.

Harry suddenly became unhappy, because the Quidditch field was no longer flat and smooth, and it had lost its original appearance. The field seemed to be built with countless low walls, which were intertwined to form an intricate pattern.

At this time, Furong and Krum also entered the stadium and saw these low walls.
"What is this?" Furong asked softly. She was a little confused by these low walls.

There were four warriors in the Triwizard Tournament. Although there was no such bad thing as four people forming five groups, the four of them were not always in harmony.

Among the four, Furong can be said to be the one with the best popularity.

Because she decisively rejected the bootlicker Hector, Fleur won some favor from Ada; because Harry helped Gabriel in the second project, Fleur and Harry became closer; Krum didn't talk much, and he and Fleur didn't have any conflicts, so their relationship was neither good nor bad.

Some people are popular, while others are not. Krum is the one with the least popularity among the four.

Because of Hermione, Krum mistakenly regarded Harry as his love rival, so their relationship was naturally not good; after the Christmas ball, for some unknown reason, Krum's attitude towards Ada also changed, and he became vaguely hostile.

Ida herself was not aware of Krum's transformation, and even if she knew, she would not care. There are many people who are hostile to Ida, so please queue up consciously, don't crowd, and don't cut in line. "It's the wall." Harry responded to Fleur's question, and he lowered his head and carefully observed the low wall closest to him. After thinking for a while, Harry continued, "Who knows, these walls may become a maze."

At a glance, the pattern formed by these low walls does look like a maze, but the walls are too low and cannot serve the purpose of a maze at all.

"Hello!" cried a cheerful voice. "I am glad to see you again!"

It was Ludo Buckman, still wearing his old Quidditch uniform and smiling, but his smile didn't seem as bright as before.

Seeing Ludo Bachmann reminded Ada of the news Sergei had given her, news that had left her speechless.

Ludo Buckman, a former famous English Quidditch player, was once prosecuted by the Ministry of Magic for helping Death Eaters pass messages.

But this famous athlete did not go to jail, not because he bribed the Ministry of Magic or betrayed other Death Eaters, but because he was truly innocent.

He had always thought that he was working for Rookwood of the Ministry of Magic until he was prosecuted, when he realized that Rookwood was a Death Eater and that he had been deceived.

Ironically, Ludo Buckman helped deliver the message only because Rookwood promised him a position in the Ministry of Magic after he retired.

"Well, what do you think?" Ludo Bagman asked cheerfully, like a happy big boy. "Good progress, isn't it? In another month, Hagrid will make them twenty feet high. Don't worry, your Quidditch pitch will be back to its original state once the Tournament project is over!"

Hearing this, knowing that his beloved Quidditch field would not be damaged, Harry's face finally cleared up.

"Well, I think you already know the purpose of these low walls." Ludo Bagman continued to smile, "Yes, it's a maze. The third task is very simple and clear. The Triwizard Cup is placed in the center of the maze. The first warrior to touch it will get full marks."

"We just need to get through the maze?" Furong asked uncertainly. She found it hard to believe that the third task was so simple.

"There'll be lots of obstacles," said Bagman cheerfully, hopping up and down on his tiptoes as if he were playing hopscotch. "Hagrid's provided a whole host of animals . . . and there's spells that have to be broken . . . and that sort of thing."

Although the animals raised by Hagrid are generally dangerous, in Ada's opinion, the difficulty of the third project is not high. Especially compared with the first two projects, this maze is somewhat anticlimactic.

After explaining the events of the competition and the order in which the warriors would appear, Ludo Bagman asked, "Any questions? If not, let's go back to the castle!"

After saying that, everyone left the stadium together and walked towards the castle.

Just as the group walked out of the stadium, Krum called Harry and wanted to talk to him alone.

This scene felt strangely familiar to Ada, just like a tall and strong class bully grabbing a skinny boy.

However, Krum did not force Harry, and Harry did it voluntarily. The two of them moved away from the team and gradually disappeared into the night.

Watching the two people walk away, Ada was a little hesitant. She always had a bad feeling in her heart.

It was already past nine in the evening, and it was dark. It was not a good idea to let Harry wander outside the castle alone. He was not worried that Krum would really beat Harry, but he was worried that someone would take this opportunity to take risks.

As they walked, Ada also left the group and went in the direction where Krum and Harry had just disappeared.
