The Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 393 The Useful Twins

Chapter 393 The Useful Twins
The hall was now empty, the candles were burning low, making the jack-o'-lantern's gap-toothed grin flicker and seem eerie. Ada and Harry had left the cubicle and were heading back to the Gryffindor common room.

Harry lowered his head and followed Ada awkwardly. He suddenly said, "I'm sorry, Ada, you could have..."

"Why are you saying this? It's not you who put your name in the list," Ada said. "You don't think you stole my limelight, do you? Young man, you think too much."

When a school selects a champion, it should naturally receive full support from the school. When a school selects two champions, the school's support will naturally be dispersed. But Ada doesn't care about the support of the school and classmates at all.

The three schools participating in the Triwizard Tournament are the best schools in Europe and are also among the best in the world. The competition among these three schools will inevitably attract the attention of the European magic world, and newspapers will also compete to report on the progress and results of the competition.

This is what Ada wanted, a legitimate opportunity to become famous and show her strength. Whether the opponents were two or three people, it made no difference to Ada.

Ida even hoped that everyone would just stop competing and just duel to decide the winner. If you feel unconfident, it doesn't matter. Ida can let Krum and Furong fight together, so it's no problem for them to fight three against one.

The first event is on November 24th, the second event is after the New Year, and the third event is almost at the end of the semester. Really, can't you hurry up and stop wasting time!
Harry was very grateful to Ada for believing in him, but the more Ada believed in him, the more guilty Harry felt. Harry's embarrassment and shyness did not escape Ada's eyes.

"Instead of feeling sorry for me, you might as well think about how to deal with other people, so that you don't get crushed by rumors before the first project even starts." Ida said with a smile, "I feel quite accomplished for defeating two famous people at once."

Harry suddenly stopped. Yes, who in the school would believe him? Ada believed him, Hermione and Ron would believe him, but who else would believe him? Apart from these good friends, who else would believe that he didn't cheat and didn't put his name into the Goblet of Fire?

This is also a headache for Ada. Ada can foresee what will happen in school tomorrow. Harry will be isolated, excluded, and even ridiculed in person.

But Ada knew she was powerless to stop it. The public was so angry that she could no longer suppress it. The students would not think deeply about the conspiracy behind Harry becoming a warrior. In their eyes, Harry was the beneficiary of cheating and the cheater.

Just like Harry, those who do not meet the registration requirements will be dissatisfied. If no one meets the requirements, why can you, Harry Potter, successfully register and, most importantly, be selected?
Those who met the registration requirements but were not selected are also dissatisfied. Why can people who are not even qualified to register successfully register and become warriors? Why?
A single word like "why" can stir up a huge storm, enough to devour a person without leaving even a bone. While worrying about the hidden conspiracy, Harry also had to be careful not to drown in saliva, which was really difficult for a child.

Fortunately, these are all tomorrow's affairs. At least tonight the Gryffindor common room is in a celebratory mood. Hogwarts has two warriors, both of whom are from Gryffindor, double the joy!

In the common room, the little lions surrounded Harry, stuffing all kinds of drinks and food into his hands, screaming, cheering, and whistling. Everyone was curious about how Harry did it, and how he passed the age limit.

Even though Harry repeatedly said that he didn't know what was going on and that he hadn't done anything, the little lions didn't believe him and didn't even realize that Harry had no intention of celebrating at all.

Ada found a place to sit away from the crowd. Although she was also a warrior, everyone thought it was natural for her to be selected, so everyone just said a few words of congratulations to her and let her go.

Fred and George also left the noisy crowd and sat down next to Ada. The two brothers also brought her a glass of pumpkin juice.

"Is there a problem with Harry becoming a warrior?" Fred asked.

The twins also realized that something was wrong. Harry had never shown any desire to sign up for the Goblet of Fire from beginning to end, nor had they seen Harry make any attempts. But now he suddenly became a warrior, and the two brothers naturally became suspicious.

Seeing Ada nod, George continued to ask: "If someone really deliberately put Harry's name into the Goblet of Fire, what was his purpose? Did he want to help Harry, or did he want to harm Harry?"

Fred and George asked in unison: "Also, we have clearly selected warriors representing three schools, so why did Harry's name appear? Could it be that the Goblet of Fire doesn't know how to count?" "From what I know, someone did want Harry to participate. It's not clear what he wants to do, but it's not for Harry's good anyway." Ada said, "Moody gave a guess, which I think is quite consistent with the actual situation."

Then, Ada told what happened in the small room at night, the ugly behavior of Ms. Maxim and Karkaroff, and Moody's thoughts.

Moody believed that someone had cast a particularly powerful Confusion Charm on the Goblet of Fire, making it think that there were four schools participating, and that Harry was the only student from the fourth school to sign up.

The two brothers thought carefully, seeming a little annoyed that they had not thought of the method of confusing spell, but soon they were no longer annoyed, because they were still unable to cast a spell to confuse a high-level magic item.

"Do you have any suspicions?" George continued, "Tell us and we'll think about it together."

Ada held up three fingers and said, "I have three suspects. The first is Ms. Maxime. She has the ability to do this, but I don't know what the meaning of doing this is for her, so I think she is the least suspicious."

When something happened at Hogwarts, the first suspects would be these outsiders. Madam Maxime obviously had giant blood, and when Voldemort was rampant, some giants chose to become Voldemort's servants.

"The second one is Karkaroff. He used to be a Death Eater. After being arrested and imprisoned, he escaped punishment by betraying other Death Eaters at the Council. Later, somehow, he became the headmaster of Durmstrang. This school is really out of ideas and chose such a loser." Ada said disdainfully, "Considering his former identity as a Death Eater, perhaps he wants to take credit from his master!"

Fred said, "I heard that Durmstrang teaches students the Dark Arts, and Karkaroff is a Death Eater, so his expertise is a good match. Maybe that's why they chose him."

"I have heard a lot about Durmstrang from my grandmother." Ada shrugged and said, "Anyway, if it were me, I would never go to that crappy place, Durmstrang."

"Is it shabbier than Hogwarts?" Fred asked with a smile.

Ida nodded and said, "It's colder and more dilapidated than Hogwarts."

Even though Ada and the twins kept calling Hogwarts a shabby place and disliked it for being cold and old, they could only say that to themselves. If outsiders dared to say that, they would definitely have to argue with them.

You said it was shabby? Do you dare to say it again?

"Who is the third person?" George asked. "It can't be Mad-Eye Moody. He used to be an Auror. Half of the cells in Azkaban were filled with him."

Ida put the fingertips of her hands together, and kept shaking her index fingers. She said, "The third one is indeed Moody. I always feel that he is strange, but I can't tell why."

Ada always felt that Moody was trying too hard, whether it was in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class or in his performance in the small room at night.

Fred suddenly clapped his hands and said, "Remember what Thad's chatterbox dad said to Dad the morning we left the Burrow for King's Cross Station?"

After Fred's reminder, Ada also thought of the conversation in the fireplace that morning. Moody said that he was attacked and caused some problems. His Muggle neighbors even called the police, but the Ministry of Magic did not find any traces of Moody being attacked.

Was it true that Alastor Moody was not attacked that night? Was all this just Mad-Eye Moody's imagination? Was the Professor Moody that he saw in school now really Alastor Moody?
