The Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 28 The Unhuman Twins

Chapter 28 The Unhuman Twins

On Saturday morning, students who had been busy throughout the week were sleeping in, and even Hogwarts became lazy.

Ada was rolling on the bed, she struggled to get up, and changed her clothes sleepily. She did not disturb Angelina and Alia who were sleeping soundly, and left the lounge directly.

The hall seemed a little deserted, with people gathering in groups of three or four to eat breakfast. Ada greeted the Gryffindors passing by. Since Professor McGonagall had talked to her, Ada had been communicating more with her classmates.

After breakfast, Ada walked around the castle. She was still looking for a "safe house." Taking two boys to the girls' bathroom every few days was not a long-term solution.

After walking around for a while, Ada still couldn't find the target she liked, so she had to wander towards the library alone.

Mrs. Pince was "patrolling" in the library with a feather duster in her hand, and there were not many students reading. Ada walked through the rows of bookshelves and stopped at the bookshelf of Defense Against the Dark Arts. Ada felt someone was staring at her, and turned around to meet Mrs. Pince's gaze.

"I won't go to the restricted section, ma'am." Ada said with a smile.

Madam Pince did not respond to Ada. She glanced at Ada and then turned away. However, she would still look at Ada from time to time.

Ada took a book from the bookshelf and sat down at random. Occasionally, people would discuss quietly in the library, but it was generally very quiet. Everyone was quite aware of the "power" of the feather duster in Madam Pince's hand.

At about ten o'clock, the twin brothers also came to the library. The two brothers walked directly to Ada, then lay on Ada's left and right, continuing their unfinished sleep.

After a while, Ada's biological clock reminded her on time: it was time to eat. Ada looked up at the clock and saw that it was already past eleven o'clock. She closed her book and woke up the twins who were still sleeping.

"Um...what's wrong..." Fred asked dazedly, rubbing his eyes.

"Let's go eat. After dinner we have to go to the bathroom to practice spells." Ada stood up and walked towards Madam Pince to borrow books.

"Oh... okay..." George also stood up and left with Ada. As he was still sleepy, he bumped into the table several times along the way.

Around two o'clock in the afternoon, the three men left the castle. They were going to meet Hagrid, as they had agreed on at the Quidditch field.

The three men came to the edge of the Forbidden Forest, where Hagrid's cabin was. In front of the door stood a giant crossbow and a pair of rubber overshoes. Judging from the size, one could tell at a glance that these items belonged to Hagrid.

The twins looked towards the Forbidden Forest, and they were full of longing for it. When school started, they wanted to explore the Forbidden Forest, but the castle was too big, and exploring the castle held them back, preventing them from going to the Forbidden Forest to explore.

Fred retracted his gaze and walked to the wooden door and knocked. A few low dog barks came from the house. Fred said, "Hagrid, Hagrid, we're here."

Hagrid opened the wooden door, revealing his huge body, and behind him was a fierce-looking black hound. The hound wanted to go out, but the chain on its collar killed its desire for "freedom".

Hagrid let the three of them into the cabin, which had only one room, with the kitchen, living room and bedroom all in one place. The big bed in the corner was very suitable for Hagrid's body shape, and everything in the room was also large in size.

There was a copper kettle sitting in the brazier, and the water had boiled. Hagrid first poured the boiling water from the copper kettle into a large teapot, and then used the teapot to pour a glass of water for each of Ada and the others.

"Drink some hot water to keep away the cold." Hagrid said enthusiastically. He turned around and took out some more rock cakes and put them on the plate.

While Hagrid was busy, George whispered in Ada's ear: "If you don't want to change your teeth, don't try."

After hearing this, Ada suddenly became interested in the rock cake. The rock cake looked a bit rough and its appearance was not very good. It was sprinkled with some raisin-like things as decoration, which really did not look appetizing.

Ada picked up a piece from the plate and found it a little hard. The rock cake in her hand gave Ada the feeling of holding a brick instead of a cake.

"Try it, Ada. My cooking skills are pretty good." After seeing this, Hagrid enthusiastically recommended the rock cake to Ada, "If you like it, take some more when you leave. You study so hard, you should eat more to replenish your brain power..."

Feeling the hard pastry in her hand, Ada cursed herself in her heart: It's what I deserve! I let you get naughty! I let you get curious! Why don't you learn your lesson!
Aida, who was in a dilemma, gritted her teeth and put the rock cake into her mouth. She tried it gently, but she couldn't bite it.

Fred and George held their cups and wanted to laugh but didn't dare to. They signaled Ada to drink harder and take a bigger sip. The two brothers looked at each other and understood each other's intentions: to hold a grand funeral for Ada's front teeth!

From the moment the three men entered the cabin, Hagrid's hound kept barking. Hagrid walked over and loosened its chain.

As soon as Hagrid's sight left her, Ada immediately put the rock cake in the pocket of her school robe and pretended that she had finished eating. She thought silently in her heart: Hagrid's cooking skills are as rough as his appearance, and the taste is also in line with that of Muggle chefs.

"That hound's called Fang. He's just like Hagrid, only he looks fiercer," said Fred.

As soon as Hagrid released the hound named Fang, it immediately rushed to Ada and wagged its tail at her.

"Back off! Fang, back off!" Hagrid shouted at Fang who was clinging to Ada. "I'm sorry, Ada, don't be afraid. Fang is very docile and won't bite you."

"It's okay, Hagrid, I like Fang very much." Ada said with a smile. She reached out and touched Fang. She really liked dogs.

"Ah, you've finished eating. How was it? How did it taste?" Hagrid asked excitedly. He saw that the rock cake in Ada's hand had disappeared without a trace.

After hearing this, Ada, who was stroking the dog's head with a smile, suddenly didn't want to stroke the dog anymore. This was like a bolt from the blue. Ada reluctantly said, "It tastes... okay, but it's a little... a little hard." Ada gave her own evaluation tactfully.

"I like rock cakes that are a little crispier, so they taste better." Hagrid didn't seem to understand what Ada said, "As long as you like it, I'll pack some for you when you leave, and you can take it back and share it with your roommate."

I'm afraid they think I'm out to kill for money. Ada complained silently in her heart. She wanted to know who gave Hagrid such courage. Fish Liang was probably in trouble.

Ada didn't dare to look at the other foods in the cabin, for fear that Hagrid would enthusiastically ask her "Would you like to try some?" This was the most terrifying sentence she had heard this year.

Fred and George mercilessly complained about Snape to Hagrid, and Hagrid also criticized Snape's inhumane behavior.

"Snape is like that. No one liked him when he was in school. After he started teaching, he hardly liked any students either." Hagrid comforted Ada, his black beetle-like eyes flashing with sincerity. "Maybe next year when there are new students, he will forget about you."

Ada also hoped that Hagrid's words would come true. It was the first time she realized that "the new generation replaces the old generation" was a blessing.

"Hagrid, can you tell me about the Forbidden Forest?" The twins finally bared their fangs, revealing their true colors.

Hagrid, who was innocent, knew nothing about this. He said, "There are many magical creatures in the Forbidden Forest..."

"We love magical creatures!" The twins told their lies without even having to draft them; they sounded like the truth.

"Really?" Hagrid looked excited. "Your brother Charlie also likes magical beasts. I like him very much. He always has a way with animals!"

"We were influenced by Charlie!" said Fred excitedly.

"Fire dragons are awesome!" George stood up and shook his robe to imitate a flying fire dragon.

But no matter how she looked at it, Ada felt that George was now more like an old hen looking for food. After hearing the twin brothers' love for dragons, the simple Hagrid couldn't help himself. He began to introduce the Forbidden Forest to the twins in great detail.

Ada looked at the three people who were talking intensely. She felt like an outsider now. No, at least she still had teeth.

"Ya Ya! Sit! Sit!" Ada began to train Ya Ya, but this Neapolitan Mastiff didn't seem to have a very good brain. "Sit! Ya Ya! Sit down!"

She took out a piece of cake made by the house elves from her pocket and used food to give Yaya some motivation. With food as temptation, Ada's order finally took effect. Yaya, with wrinkles all over his face, sat obediently in front of Ada, drooling all over the floor.

"Well done, good boy." Ida broke off a small piece of cake and fed it to Fang. Even though it was just a small piece of cake, Fang ate it voraciously, which showed Hagrid's cooking skills... Fang, you have suffered...

"Ya Ya! Get out of here!" Ada started the next training item, and the three people who were discussing the Forbidden Forest finally had a disagreement.

"No, you can't go. The Forbidden Forest is full of dangers for you." Hagrid waved his hands, which were as big as trash can lids, and refused again and again. "That won't work."

"How can it be dangerous with you here?" Fred persuaded.

"We promise to listen to you and never cause any trouble!" George started swearing right away.

"That won't work either. Every creature in the Forbidden Forest can pose a threat to your life!" Hagrid shook his head. He couldn't agree to this.

"But you're here, we just want to take a look around the Forbidden Forest." The twins retreated to advance, how could they naively think that Hagrid would take them to the Forbidden Forest? It would be good to just take a walk around the Forbidden Forest, and we could talk about the Forbidden Forest later, there was no rush.

"No, Fred, George, Dumbledore won't agree." Hagrid's position was still firm. "We have to wait until you are older, until you grow up."

"Okay, Hagrid is also thinking about your safety, so don't make things difficult for him anymore." Ada, who couldn't bear it anymore, stepped forward and said.

The twin brothers had no choice but to give up. The three of them sat for a while and chatted with Hagrid about the magical creatures he raised. When night fell, Ada and the other two left Hagrid's hut.

"Once we get ready, we can go explore the Forbidden Forest!" Fred said excitedly on the way back to the castle.

"Didn't Hagrid say he wouldn't take you with him? After all, we are faculty members of the school, he won't take you with him." Ada's mind was not on the Forbidden Forest at all, because before leaving, Hagrid stuffed her a small bag of rock biscuits.

"We didn't think he would agree." George looked unfathomable, and he continued, "It's just that no one knows the Forbidden Forest better than Hagrid!"

"Getting first-hand information from him," Fred said, "will be more beneficial to our Forbidden Forest exploration plan."

"Don't you two have a guilty conscience?" Ada said as she swung the bag of rock biscuits. She didn't expect that the twins would be so "unhuman" as to trick Hagrid in order to go to the Forbidden Forest.

"No, not at all." The twins, who were no longer human, gloated. "We think your teeth will really hurt!"

Looking at the rock cake in her hand, Ada felt her teeth aching. This is not a cake, it's a meteor hammer tied with a rope!
