The Hogwarts Emerald
Chapter 271: Parting is for a better reunion
Chapter 271: Parting is for a better reunion
In the afternoon, the sun is shining brightly and the cicadas are chirping.
The small living room of the Burrow was packed with people, including the Weasley family, Ada, Dumbledore, and Professor McGonagall. They all gathered here because of Rosier, and the letter was now on the table in the living room.
There was silence in the living room. Just as Henry Rosier said, any fool knows the character of pure-blood families. In addition to Muggles, they also despise half-blood or Muggle-born wizards.
Ada was in danger before she even left. Wouldn't she be walking into a tiger's mouth if she went to France? However, no matter what, Ada's relatives were there. We couldn't stop her from going, could we?
From Dumbledore, everyone learned even worse news. The Rosier family had served two generations of Dark Lords, and Evan Rosier was a die-hard fan of Voldemort. This made the Weasley family even more worried. Mrs. Weasley and the twins' eyes turned red.
Professor McGonagall was also worried. It was dangerous to go alone without anyone to take care of her. She wondered whether she should go to Paris with Ada. She would come back when Ada was safe.
When Professor McGonagall heard that Ada's family came to see her, she was both happy and sad. She was happy that Ada finally had someone to rely on, but sad that she might "lose" her. However, this complex feeling did not last long before it was replaced by worry.
Dumbledore was leaning on the sofa calmly. He was not worried about Ada at all. Instead, he was worried about the Rosier family. He didn't know if the Rosier family could afford to invite such a little ancestor back.
The headmaster was also not worried that Ada would be led astray by the Rosier family's pure-blood concept. Regardless of whether the Rosier family would accept her, Ada had met Grindelwald before, and it would be too embarrassing if she was taken down in a few words.
What's more, Ada is not some ignorant kid. She has already formed her own opinions about the world.
If it weren't for the sunny side of Ada's character, Dumbledore would have thought he was going to see another Tom Riddle. Fortunately, he did not go down the same old path this time, and he still played a positive role in Ada's growth.
Seeing that no one spoke, Dumbledore asked, "Ada, what do you think? Your opinion is the most important."
My own thoughts? Yes, after living in this world for so many years, you are in me, I am in you, and we can no longer tell each other apart. And Ada also wants to figure out the cause and effect. She was abandoned by her parents at the door of the orphanage, and now her grandmother came to the door. This matter can't be kept hanging in her heart. It's better to figure it out, at least to know if there is anyone spying on her in secret.
Home is far away, I have to go back to visit eventually.
"I think I still need to go to Paris," Ada said in a deep voice, "Even if it's a dangerous place, I'll still go there." Moreover, judging from the attitude of Thierry Rozier and Henry Rozier towards her, the situation might not be that bad.
If she can't even face Rosier, how can she be on par with Dumbledore and Grindelwald? It would be better for Ada to just hide in Hogwarts and be a yes-man.
Fred and George suddenly stood up and walked upstairs together. Mrs. Weasley asked, "What are you two doing?"
"Pack your things."
"Let's go to Paris."
The twins replied that they would not stop Ada from seeing her relatives, but they just felt uneasy.
"Can you stay away from her all the time?" Dumbledore said, "There are many things in life that you have to face alone. If one day you are not by her side, will she be unable to do anything?"
This was said to both the twins and Professor McGonagall. You can trust and rely on others, but you can't rely on them too much, which is a big obstacle in life. Life is a lonely journey. How far can you go if you always want to rely on others? Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall did not stay in the Burrow for too long. Since Ada had made up her mind, they said goodbye and left. Even though Professor McGonagall was a little reluctant, she could only wait until school started.
Today, the Burrow is no longer filled with laughter and joy as it used to be, nor are there explosions coming from Fred and George's rooms from time to time. Everyone is in a low mood.
Mrs. Weasley packed with Ada, and she folded the clothes silently without saying a word. Probably, she sent Bill to Egypt and Charlie to Romania in the same way.
Ada didn't know how to comfort this kind person, and words seemed to have lost their effect at this moment. Ada sat behind Mrs. Weasley, hugged her from behind, and put her cheek on her warm back.
Mrs. Weasley still said nothing. She lowered her head and continued to fold the robes in her hands.
The next morning, Ada, in a water-green dress, tiptoed out of the room. She didn't like parting, so she chose to leave without saying goodbye again. After the ridiculously sumptuous dinner yesterday, everyone in the family came to say goodbye to her, making it seem like a farewell of life and death. She really didn't want to go through it again.
Ginny, the youngest girl, gave her favorite doll to Ada; Ron, who was always a foodie, gave all his snacks to Ada; Mr. Weasley even took out his own private money and let Ada use it for personal use; even Percy expressed his opinion, but the twins, contrary to their usual behavior, said nothing and did nothing.
The morning sun is always lovely, it dispels the darkness without making people feel too scorching. When Ada opened the door of the Burrow, she found Fred and George standing in the yard waiting for her. Ada's leaving without saying goodbye was once again declared a failure.
"I knew I couldn't hide it from you." Ada said with a smile.
"Who can you hide your tricks from?" Fred said, "Next time, you can try to go out in the middle of the night."
"Let's go. You won't even let us see you off?" George walked out of the yard first. "If we don't leave now, Mom will have to get up."
There was no sadness among the three young people on the path of St. Catchpole Village. When Mr. Weasley took Ada to the Burrow, he took this path. Today, Ada left the Burrow on this path.
Walking along this long path, the three people fell silent at the same time and stopped walking together. After a long journey, we must say goodbye. Ada said, "Maybe we will meet again in Hogwarts, or maybe I will come back in despair in a few days."
"Don't do that. Let's meet at Hogwarts." Fred said with a look of disgust. "Do you know how much we both annoy you?"
"Yeah, I know today." Ada nodded with a smile.
"Go to Paris and control your bad temper. No one will tolerate you there." George also said, "It would be too embarrassing if you were kicked out."
"Okay, got it." Ada smiled and nodded again.
The moment of parting finally arrived. The three of them hugged each other, and the twins whispered in Ada's ears: "We will miss you. Remember to write to us."
