The Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 255 The End of the Legend

Chapter 255 The End of the Legend
Hearing Dumbledore's words and following his gaze, Tom Riddle looked behind him. A girl with long golden hair walked out from the Slytherin statue. It was Ada who had left the real Chamber of Secrets.

Ada's robe was stained with mud from the pipes, and her delicate face was covered with dust, like a little cat. She shook the tattered diary in her hand, as if she was asking Dumbledore for credit, or as if she was saying to Tom Riddle: Come, I'll show you a big treasure!
The expression on Tom Riddle's face was hard to read. He looked neither angry nor worried, as if the diary had nothing to do with him.

Even though he was only sixteen years old, the Dark Lord was still the Dark Lord. He was extremely cunning and would not let others easily detect his inner thoughts.

Seeing Voldemort looking at her, Ada smiled and said, "If you are willing to kneel down and kiss the corner of my robe, maybe I will let you die more easily."

Give them a taste of their own medicine! I am Murong Ada of Gryffindor, please teach me!

"Forget it, forget it. If I let you kiss the corner of my robe, it will be tainted and I can never wear it again." Ada said, "Besides, I will have nightmares. It's not worth it. I'd better just send you to death."

Hagrid once thought that Ada was a good girl, but she had a big mouth. For an honest man to have such an idea, it is conceivable how perfect Ada's ability to mock and annoy others was.

The respected Death Eater, Dumbledore's confidant, double agent, Potions Master, the infuriating Severus Snape!

When Tom saw Ada holding her diary and knew that she had entered another secret room, he was able to control his emotions because he had moved the things inside away long ago.

But seeing Ada being so presumptuous, Tom Riddle's handsome face turned ferocious. A lowly ant actually dared to do this. This was a contempt for the Dark Lord!
However, the current Tom Riddle, the current Voldemort is just a memory in a diary, a fragment of the soul. He is still very weak and cannot even cast the Killing Curse.

What's more, Dumbledore and two professors are here. Even if Tom can cast the killing curse, it may not wash away the humiliation brought to him by Ada.

If he wasn't so weak, Tom Riddle would have gone on a killing spree long ago, and no one would have been able to stop his resurgence! At worst, he could have taken Ginny Weasley and the diary and fled far away instead of hiding in the Chamber of Secrets and fighting like a trapped beast.

Dumbledore smiled at Ada, feeling indescribably satisfied. Ever since entering the Chamber of Secrets, Ada had been unusually quiet and behaved too honestly. This was not the Ada he knew.

And the seemingly reckless action afterwards further confirmed Dumbledore's thoughts. Like herself, Ada was full of doubts about Tom Riddle who appeared in the Chamber of Secrets, believing that he was not real, but just a projection with unclear reasons.

After the basilisk appeared, Ada didn't say a word, just dragged Harry and Ginny and ran away. This was a great humiliation for Ada, a warmonger and a staunch hawk.

Unless Ada has other plans and has more important things to do.

It was precisely because of Ada's series of slightly abnormal behavior that Dumbledore stayed in the Chamber of Secrets to subdue the basilisk and restrain Tom Riddle instead of looking for the more important diary.

Dumbledore believed that Ada would surprise Tom and give him a satisfactory answer.

"Well done, Ada," said Dumbledore. "If only it could be faster. We have already wasted too much time."

The leader just slaps his lips, and the subordinates run around. Dumbledore said it so easily, but he didn't know that Ada's head hurt because of the stench from the water pipes and the basilisk's lair.

"Rescuing Ginny is what I, as a sister, should do." Ida walked past Tom Riddle without even looking at him. "But, can I be included in the Special Contribution Award?"

Human obsession is terrible, just like Voldemort's obsession with immortality and Ada's obsession with the special contribution award. "Of course, you have made great contributions to the school, so of course you deserve this honor." Dumbledore said with a smile. It was just a special contribution award, which was nothing at all.

Ada handed the diary to Dumbledore, and then walked to the body of the basilisk. The problem of the chamber of secrets could be solved soon, and Ginny was safe, and Ada's mind began to become active again.

Looking at the horribly mutilated corpse of the basilisk, Ada felt heartbroken. This was a basilisk, which had not been seen in the British Isles for four hundred years. If this thing had its eyes removed and put on a traveling exhibition, how much gold galleons could it earn!
Even if you killed it, couldn't you leave it intact? The snake skin was shredded into this mess, like a puzzle. How can you sell it for money?

The professors at Hogwarts are all a bunch of losers! They should all be taken out for five minutes! A full man doesn't know the hunger of a hungry man! He, tui!

On the other hand, neither Dumbledore nor Professor Flitwick knew what Ada was thinking. They fought to the death, but Ada thought they were too harsh and did not leave the basilisk with a complete body.

If the basilisk knew that Ada wanted to sell its body in exchange for gold galleons, it would probably come back to life and then die of anger again.

Dumbledore flipped through the diary in his hand and said, "I have to say, this is a brilliant idea. Fifty years ago, because of my suspicion, you stopped your actions and left your memories in the diary, waiting for future generations to continue your unfinished work."

The situation was hopeless, Tom Riddle knew he had failed, but he was not discouraged, nor did he lose his composure. He said: "One day, we will meet again, Dumbledore. When the time comes, I will make you wish you were dead! All of you will crawl at my feet, begging for my forgiveness!"

Since the night when Voldemort fell from power, Dumbledore had anticipated that such a day would come and had been preparing for it. Therefore, Tom Riddle's threats were useless and were just a way to satisfy his desire.

Now, if they destroyed the diary, the dark cloud hanging over Hogwarts would dissipate, and there would be no more Chamber of Secrets.

After seeing enough of the corpse and feeling sorry for the lost Galleons, Ada walked back to Dumbledore and handed the fang of the basilisk to the headmaster. This was what Ada had just broken off from the mouth of the basilisk, and she had originally wanted to keep it as a souvenir.

This thin and long fang looks like a sharp saber. The Slytherin basilisk destroyed the diary of the Slytherin heir and ended this cycle personally. It was very beautiful, very beautiful.

Dumbledore took the fang and stabbed it directly into the diary. He said, "That day will never come. No matter how many times you come back, you are doomed to fail if you don't understand human nature, Tom."

With a terrible, prolonged, ear-piercing scream, streams of ink spurted out of the diary and flowed down Dumbledore's hands to the ground.

Tom Riddle twisted and struggled, his arms flailing and screaming. Then he disappeared, as if he had never existed.

With a snap, Harry's wand fell to the ground and everything was over.

The venom of the basilisk burned a hole in the diary, which was still hissing and emitting black smoke. Voldemort's plan to resurrect was shattered again, and the legend of the Chamber of Secrets would no longer exist, but Dumbledore's face did not look relaxed.

On the road to immortality, Voldemort has gone further than anyone else. This is not just talk, Voldemort really did it. Looking at the broken diary in his hand, Dumbledore did not speak for a long time.
