The Hogwarts Emerald

Chapter 21 Daily life

Chapter 21 Daily life
The droopy-headed Weasley twins stretched out their hands to Ada. Ada thought that the brothers wanted her to pull them up, so she also stretched out her hand.

With a snap, the hand of friendship that Ada extended was slapped back by the twins.

"What's going on?" Ada rubbed the back of her hand. Her originally white and clean hand had turned red from being slapped by Fred and George.

"Potions homework!"

"Transfiguration homework!"

"This is your spiritual compensation for hurting us!"

The twins sang in unison, and their cooperation was so perfect that Ada felt that the brothers must have been speaking this way since they were in their mother's womb.

Ada threw her schoolbag to Fred and asked them to find it themselves. Ada was actually against this, as it was useless for her own learning progress, although she used to be like this.

After finding the required homework books, the twins began to write furiously. When they finished the homework in front of them, they would exchange the two homeworks, which not only saved time but also greatly improved efficiency.

Ada took out a book called "How to Hit Your Opponent with Your Spells", which she found on an inconspicuous bookshelf in the library. The title just struck a chord with Ada, so she borrowed the book with the same name as the light novel.

After reading it, Ada finally understood why the book was left gathering dust, because it was truly useless and full of nonsense.

Compared with the book "Five Years of OWLs and Seven Years of NEWTs" that I saw before, which was also gathering dust in a corner, this book "Five Sevens" is the real stuff. It records some real questions from the written test. It is simply a guide for answering questions at Hogwarts.

The number of people in the common room dwindled, and the crackling of the fire in the fireplace became more and more obvious.

Fred, who was "full of ideas", rubbed his sore wrist and said, "I'd rather stay with Filch than write a potion paper." He had completed the entire copying process and handed the homework back to Ada.

"Lovely but annoying Filch!" George just finished and complained, "Compared with Snape, Filch is nothing."

With a snap, Ada closed the book "How to Hit Your Opponent with Your Spells" in her hand and said to the Weasley brothers, "You two should be content. You at least have one assignment to copy."

"How can this be plagiarism! This is reference!" George said with an exaggerated expression.

"It's just to inspire inspiration and guide thinking." Fred followed up, "We just don't want to waste our limited lives on these endless homeworks. It's meaningless!"

If you two were more sincere, I might believe you. Ada rolled her eyes and thought to herself.

Ada stretched out her hand and pinched her sore neck, then said to the two of them, "What do you think is meaningful? Is it playing with Filch in a friendly manner, or hiding in the corner of the corridor to scare children? Or is it turning the doll in your little brother's arms into an ugly spider?"

"We were just having a joke with Ron..." Fred said, his playful look gone.

"It's just that I didn't get the sense of proportion..." George said a little embarrassedly.

This joke left their little brother Ron with a very serious psychological trauma. The doll that was originally in his arms suddenly turned into a giant crawling spider. It was scary just thinking about it.

May Merlin protect Ron Weasley from ever encountering a spider again! Especially a big one!

"Let's go on a night out together next time?" George began to change the subject, but it was a little awkward.

Fred hurriedly tried to help his brother make amends, saying, "In the dead of night when no one is around, there is an ancient castle that has existed for a thousand years. Ada, are you really not interested at all?"

You have received an invitation from the Weasley brothers to team up for a night tour of Hogwarts. Agree √, reject ×.

"Didn't you just get caught once? Are you planning to go back to your old ways so soon?" Ada rejected the Weasley brothers' invitation to form a team. She planned to be quiet for a few days and not go anywhere.

"Next time, next time..." Fred looked at Ada as if she was an idiot.

"Not today, nor tomorrow, but next time, when we plan to go on a night tour again." George explained patiently, as if he was talking to a little child!
"Uh... I mean there won't be any chances in the short term. Filch will definitely pay more attention to you." Ada picked up her face that fell on the ground, "And you can't lose points anymore. If you continue like this, even Charlie will not be able to stand it even if he has a good temper. He will tell Mrs. Weasley."

Hearing the name of their mother, Fred and George unconsciously restrained their expressions. This kind woman was terrifying when educating her children.

"Charlie won't, he's not Percy," George said, with a hint of uncertainty in his tone.

"I think many people can talk about our point deductions, but you - Esmeralda Trist, you are not qualified!" Fred shook his finger at Ada.

"I...I added back all the points I lost myself!" Ada said. She had also lost some points recently, so her tone was not very firm.

"Really?" Fred stretched out his finger and wanted to settle an account with Ada. "Let's not talk about the fight. Let's move on from this." Ada nodded in agreement. After all, everyone was involved in this matter, and it was considered a deduction for the first grade as a whole.

"He mistakenly entered the restricted book section of the library several times and ignored the closing time of the library... Madam Pince couldn't stand it anymore and told Professor McGonagall about these things. Did she lose points?" George first raised his right hand, stretched out his palm, and bent his thumb after he finished speaking.

"You used magic in an empty classroom and corridor and were discovered by Filch, so you will be deducted points!" Fred also stretched out his right hand and began to count for Ada by counting on his fingers.

"In the greenhouse classroom, you were distracted and didn't take good care of the herbal plants, so Professor Sprout deducted points from you! She likes you so much, but you always let her down," George said as he put down his right index finger.

Ada, who was called a "scumbag" by George, lowered her head in shame. Although she felt sorry for Professor Sprout's liking for her, she really had no interest in taking care of plants.

"In the dungeon classroom, I talked back to the professor and was deducted points by Snape, and more than once!" Fred put his index finger down, and as if to anger Ada, he emphasized Snape's name and the word "more than once".

The two brothers talked one after another about Ada's "crimes" since the beginning of the school year, suppressing Ada's arrogance.

Ada stared at her toes without saying a word. If she wasn't thick-skinned enough, she would probably be clasping her hands at this moment.

"Do you want us to continue?" said the Weasley brothers. In the past, Ada always looked very graceful and this was the first time they saw Ada behave like this.

"No... no need... no need..." Ada clenched her fists and managed to utter a few words. Shame on you, so shameful!

"Do you know what the other students call the three of us?" Fred asked.

"The Big Three Deducting Points!" George gave the answer directly, because he knew that Ada probably didn't know that she had no friends and didn't like making friends.

Ada is more like a loner and is more accustomed to facing everything alone.

"I had originally planned to add back the points that were deducted from both of you, but now it seems that I may not even be able to earn back my own share..." Ada said helplessly as she looked up at the ceiling of the public rest area.

I didn't know until I calculated it. I was shocked. I could even be compared with the twins. Although the points Ida lost were not comparable to those of other Gryffindors, she was still far behind the twins. What did this prove? This proved that Fred and George were the eternal gods!
"I advise you to give up this idea," said Fred.

"Haven't you noticed since you were in detention with Professor McGonagall?" George said.

"Are you letting yourself go more and more?" the two brothers said together.

The Weasley brothers didn't mention it, and Ada herself really didn't realize it. Ada hadn't lost a single point before detention, and after that... it's better not to mention it.

"I will control myself and won't let anyone deduct points from me anymore!" What else could Ada say? Compared with actions, words are always pale and powerless.

"Halloween is coming soon, what are you going to dress up as?" Fred asked.

"We're going to get two pumpkin heads," said George.

"Pumpkin head? Where do you get pumpkins?" Ada was a little confused.

Halloween is coming soon. Ida has been at Hogwarts for two months. The orphanage never holds a costume party for the children on Halloween Eve, so Ida doesn't have a deep impression of this Western festival, except for the saying "Trick or Treat".

"It's gamekeeper Hagrid, of course. He grows lots of pumpkins."

"We've already made an agreement with him."

In preparation for the Halloween dinner, Hagrid planted a lot of pumpkins, some of which were even as big as small houses.

Ada actually knew all this. She had seen Hagrid's pumpkins and even thought that if Hagrid's fertilizer was sold in the Muggle world, it might be possible to make a fortune. Ada was just thinking about other things and didn't come to her senses for a while.

"When did you two become good friends with Hagrid? How come I didn't know anything about it?" Ada stretched. She felt a little sleepy and her mind was not very clear.

"The relationship has always been good, you just don't know it."

"Who told you to always go to the library?" George said, "If you haven't made up your mind, how about pretending to be Jack with us?"

The Weasley brothers once again invited Ada to form a team.
