Chapter 185 A Child Who Likes Sunshine

Chapter 185 A Child Who Likes Sunshine

After returning to the common room, Ada did not go to the dormitory to rest immediately, but sat in front of the fireplace with the twins. She sat quietly in an armchair. The twins sat opposite her, and the two brothers were watching her, afraid that she would do something impulsive and regretful.

"You two don't need to stare at me. I'm not going to cut my own throat." Ada said, "Aren't you tired of staring at me without blinking?"

The twins shook their heads in unison, and Fred said, "We know you won't hurt yourself, but we can only feel relieved when we see you calm down."

"If Professor McGonagall hadn't shown up in time, Filch would probably be lying in the school hospital right now." George continued, "Ada, I know you may not want to hear these words, but I still have to say them."

Ada leaned back and looked up at the ceiling of the lounge. She said, "Go ahead. I'm listening."

"It doesn't matter what Dumbledore thinks, nor what other people think. What matters is you." George persuaded Ada earnestly, "As long as you do what you should do, it's enough. Other people's thoughts won't make you lose a piece of meat."

Ada knew what George said, and she never took the rumors in school to heart.

But what Dumbledore said today was no longer a simple opinion. In Ada's view, it was Dumbledore's warning to her: If you want to stay, you should be honest in the future and not act recklessly. You are not Harry, and you are not qualified to let everyone clean up the mess for you.

In Ada's eyes, everything Dumbledore had done for her before was ultimately for Harry.

Make sure that he no longer has the power of the Obscurus, so that he will not become a time bomb next to Harry; cultivate his own abilities in order to provide better protection for Harry, give him a useful thug, and train a warrior to fight against Voldemort in the future.

Ada and Harry are both very opinionated people, but Harry is the core of the whole plan, which means that Ada, who is just an auxiliary, does not need to have her own ideas. She only needs to obey Dumbledore or Harry.

No one likes to have a tool with their own thoughts. It is not easy to use. If you want to use it smoothly, you need to keep polishing it. If it is still not easy after polishing, just throw it away.

This idea is very narrow-minded, and it also makes Dumbledore look bad. This is the worst of all Ada's assumptions. In this assumption, Ada will lose Dumbledore's training and protection, and those who she has offended will come to her one by one, including Avery, Foley, Flint, and perhaps Malfoy.

"I understand. I was just angry for a moment today. It will be fine tomorrow." Ada did not express her assumptions. Maybe things were not as bad as she thought. There was no need to say it out loud and make the twins worry as well.

The twins were still looking at Ada. They knew that Ada was hiding something in her heart, but they also knew that they might not be able to get any more information out of her.

"It's getting late and I want to rest." Ada said, then turned around and went back to her dormitory.

It was indeed getting late. They had reached the fourth floor at nearly midnight, and had gone through all the checkpoints and the headmaster's office. Adding the time wasted by Filch, it was already early in the morning, and it would be dawn in a little while.

The twins looked at each other helplessly. Instead of going back to the dormitory to rest, they sat in the common room, not knowing what they were waiting for.

After returning to the dormitory, Ada did not lie down to rest, but sat on the edge of the bed, wondering what she was thinking about. Angelina, Alia and Katie were all sleeping soundly, and they did not know when Ada left or when she came back.

Sometimes, Ada also envied her roommates. Although they did not have enviable "talents", they lived a happy life and did not have so many problems to consider.

Life must go on as usual. The world will continue to revolve and rotate without anyone. Ada will not complain about losing Dumbledore's protection. Even without Dumbledore, life can still go on without him.

Ada found the glasses that the system gave her and put them on. The glasses had been lying in the corner of the cabinet, gathering dust. Every time Ada put them on, it was to cover the red bloodshot in her eyes. After packing up, Ada walked out of the dormitory and came to the common room. Fred and George were taking a nap in the armchairs. The two of them were sleeping very unsteadily. She just walked over and snapped her fingers, and the two brothers woke up immediately.

She said softly, "Go and clean up so you can go downstairs for dinner later."

The two brothers would rather sit here than go back to their dormitories, because they were afraid that I would run away. Although Ada did think about it, she didn't do it, at least not yet.

Seeing Ada sitting in the armchair with her eyes closed, the dazed twins dragged their tired bodies to wash up. The two brothers had suffered a lot in the past half night.

The two brothers washed and dressed very quickly, running there and back. Only when they saw Ada still sitting there did the twins slow down their pace. They were really worried that Ada would just leave.

Fred and George are not flowers in a greenhouse. They know that although the outside world is wonderful, it is also windy and rainy. They are worried that Ada will lose herself in the wind and rain.

Walking through corridors and stairs, none of the three mentioned what happened before. What happened has already happened, and no matter what you say or do, it is irreversible. Ada doesn't want to compromise anymore. Sitting on the bed, Ada thought for a long time. She felt that this was a good thing. It made her face the reality earlier and no longer have those unnecessary expectations. She didn't have to learn how to wear wool socks anymore. That was good.

In the auditorium, Ada ate breakfast silently, out of tune with the noisy students around her. Although Fred and George still greeted people they knew and occasionally told a joke, they were also much quieter.

What happened that night had a great impact on all three of them.

The levels under the trapdoor were useless except for the Mirror of Erised. The twins had figured out that these were prepared by Dumbledore for Harry to train him. They also figured out why Ada had such a big reaction. Both brothers felt sorry for Ada. It turned out that Snape was not the only one who had such a heart, and Dumbledore was even more biased.

From the moment Ada entered the hall, Professor McGonagall had been watching her every move. She just sat there quietly, without making any noise or making any noise. This behavior made Professor McGonagall even more worried, and she complained more about Dumbledore's actions.

Where is Dumbledore, who is being criticized by thousands of people, at this moment? He is in the Shrieking Shack, standing in front of the wooden sign that says "Dogs are inside, keep out". Dumbledore can even imagine the joy in Ada's heart when she put up the sign.

Reaching out and pushing open the wooden door, the morning sunlight shone on Dumbledore's face. He had not been here for a long time, but still remembered the gloomy look of the shed. Now the shed was bright and clean, completely different from before.

There was a rocking chair and a small round table in front of the bright window. It was obvious that the owner of the shed often sat here, basking in the warm sunshine and enjoying life leisurely. On the table was a teapot and matching teacups, and a copy of The Quibbler was placed on top of another open magazine.

Dumbledore walked over and sat on the rocking chair, picking up the open magazine. The content on it had nothing to do with magic, but some knitting methods. The open page taught people how to knit a scarf, and the other page was folded, teaching how to knit socks.

Dumbledore closed the magazine. He could not imagine what Ada looked like when she knitted socks. He and Ada both knew what wool socks represented: family affection and the company of family members.

But Ada really gave herself a pair of wool socks for Christmas, and after complaining about her feet being pricked, she started to learn how to make them.

Dumbledore knew that the word "naive" had never belonged to Ada, but she did such a naive thing just because he had taken care of her before and had a fondness for her.

The sunlight outside the window shone on Dumbledore's body, warm and comfortable. Dumbledore found that he seemed to have forgotten something before. He forgot that Ada was such a sunshine-loving child.
