Chapter 130 St. Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries
Chapter 130 St. Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries
St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries was founded by the famous healer Mungo Boham in the early 17th century. The cross composed of bones and wands is the symbol of this hospital. This hospital not only accepts wizard patients, but also Muggles who are cursed or injured by magic may enter St. Mungo's for treatment.
Unlike Muggle hospitals, St. Mungo's has an instrument accident department, a biological injury department, a strange bacteria infection department, a potion and plant poisoning department, and a spell injury department. Ada is currently in the spell injury department on the fifth floor, and the tea room and shop are on the sixth floor.
In addition to the founder Mungo Boham, Ada also knew another celebrity in the hospital - Dilys Dewent, a witch with long silver hair who served as a healer in the hospital from 1722 to 1741, and served as the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from 1741 until her death in 1768. Therefore, the portrait of Dilys Dewent is not only hung in St. Mungo's, but also in the headmaster's office of Hogwarts.
Ada had only been sitting in the office for a short while when the door was opened. Three therapists came in and examined Ada. One was muttering a spell, one was examining Ada's body, and one was circling around Ada. They were completely different from the doctors Ada had in mind and looked very strange.
After a while, Professor McGonagall came back and asked the three healers, "How is it? Are there any other injuries?"
"There is only a muscle tear in the left arm and some minor abrasions. Apart from that, there are no other injuries." One of the three healers said, "If you are worried, you can stay in St. Mungo's for a few more days to observe if there are any hidden injuries or curses that have not yet erupted."
After hearing this, Ada waved her hands. She didn't want to stay in the hospital. She had been there long enough. Ada said, "Professor, I don't have any problems. I can go back to school anytime. They can't hurt me."
This time, she was telling the truth. Neither Joan nor Peter Loren could hit Ada. Only Fatty Tenab almost hit Ada. As for the muscle tear in Ada's left arm, she thought it was caused by the wandless spell.
The vines had already firmly grasped Peter Loren, and he could not break free. Ada could have killed him with a stone or a spell, but she chose a huge gravel ball, which greatly increased the difficulty and left a laceration on her left arm.
The reason why Ada chose this method was because of the huge impact. She could take advantage of the loud noise to attack Tenab Brian when he was not prepared and catch him off guard.
Professor McGonagall agreed to the therapist's suggestion. She didn't care what Ada thought, she only cared what she thought. Professor McGonagall thought that after such a big battle, Ada should stay in the hospital for a few more days for observation, just in case.
The healers left one after another, and they went to arrange a ward for Ada. Although Professor McGonagall would spoil Ada, she would not spoil her, so she was arranged to stay in a public ward with relatively few people, rather than a single room.
Although the corridors of St. Mungo's did not have the unpleasant smell of disinfectant, Ada still did not like it here. She did not like anything that had to do with hospitals. Hospitals were never good places, and they would bring back some bad memories for Ada.
There were only three patients in the public ward besides Ada. The bed next to Ada was occupied by a young woman, who was lying unconscious on the bed. No one knew what spell had cast upon her. One was surrounded by curtains, and no one knew whether the patient was a man or a woman, let alone what illness he had. The last patient looked quite normal, but he could not open his mouth. When he opened his mouth, he would burp continuously, blowing bubbles at the same time. The whole ward was filled with colorful little bubbles, and he could not stop at all.
After changing into hospital gowns, Professor McGonagall took the listless Ada out of the ward. Passing through the narrow corridor, Ada saw the annoying Hart again, who was talking in a low voice with several other people. When they saw Ada and Professor McGonagall, their expressions suddenly became nervous, fearing that the two women would break through their defenses and rush into the ward behind them.
I think the woman named Joan should be in the ward behind them, but I don't know what her injuries are. The Aurors guarding her should be to prevent her from escaping or being rescued, and also to prevent Ada or someone else from coming to finish her off. Professor McGonagall and Ada ignored them and went straight past them to the store on the sixth floor. Ada needed to prepare some things for hospitalization, and the last time Ada ate was in the morning, and after a morning of intense exercise, her stomach was already empty.
In the tea room, Professor McGonagall and Ada sat opposite each other, with some daily necessities at hand. Ada's left arm had been simply treated by the therapist, wrapped in a thick magic bandage, and the tearing sensation was also relieved a lot.
In front of Ada was a delicious cake and a large pot of apple juice, while Professor McGonagall was drinking a cup of English black tea with a few not-so-delicate snacks on the plate.
"I have told Dumbledore everything. He will handle the rest. You just stay in the hospital. Don't go there and don't do anything. If you need any books, I will bring them to you tomorrow." Professor McGonagall said. When she separated from Ada in the office, she had told Dumbledore everything.
"Really? Madam Pomfrey is a very skilled doctor, and she can also heal my lacerations." Ada said. She didn't want to stay in St. Mungo's any longer. She wanted to go back to school. She missed her soft curtained bed, she missed the afternoon sunshine in Twilight Cottage, and she also missed Fred and George.
What would Fred and George say if they knew what happened today? They would probably say that four people could defeat two people and still be wiped out. Did they not know how to play? They would probably also blame themselves for leaving them alone to face danger again.
After filling her stomach, Ada was dragged back to the ward by Professor McGonagall and forced to rest on the bed. The man who blew bubbles closed his mouth, and the bubbles in the ward were cleaned up by the medical staff. The unconscious woman was still sleeping, and everything was the same as when she first came in.
After this fight, Ada was really tired, and soon after lying on the bed, she fell into a deep sleep. She knew she could sleep without worry because Professor McGonagall was by her side and would protect her.
Ida didn't know how long she slept. When she woke up, it was already dark outside. Professor McGonagall was not beside her bed. Ida put on her slippers and walked to the door of the ward. St. Mungo's was much quieter at night. The narrow corridor became wider. Dumbledore was whispering something to Professor McGonagall.
"The Minister personally inquired about the matter, and the Aurors also learned the cause of the incident from Joan. They were the ones who attacked the innocent Ada first, and the result was clear. It was not easy for her to survive under that circumstance, and accidentally killing someone was not a problem." Dumbledore said.
After receiving the message from McGonagall, Dumbledore rushed to the Ministry of Magic. Fudge also gave Dumbledore face and personally participated in the investigation of the matter. Now the result is out. Hartian was not established for all the charges against Ada. Not only was Ada innocent, but she was also meritorious. She defeated three evil wizards.
"How's Joan?" Professor McGonagall asked. "The Aurors are guarding her. I wanted to go and see her, but I couldn't get close."
"She probably can't be saved. Even if she is lucky enough to survive, she will be paralyzed in bed for the rest of her life." Dumbledore replied, then turned to look at the door of the ward and continued, "It seems that our Miss Drizzt has woken up."
