"Ryan, what happened?" Hermione asked as she followed Ryan up the stairs.
"A five-year-old boy was bitten by a werewolf and is in critical condition. Professor Lupin now wants me to go and save the boy." Ryan briefly introduced what he was going to do now. "So I'm going to find Professor Dumbledore now, and then use the Floo Network from the headmaster's office to rush over. This is the fastest way for us now. By the way, you'd better come with me, I need your help in some places."
"No problem, I'm glad to be able to contribute my strength to saving an innocent life." Hermione nodded to indicate that she was happy to help in this matter, because saving innocent children was in line with her values.
The main reason why Ryan wanted Hermione to go with him at this time was that he was going to rescue a person who was definitely in critical condition with complex injuries. With the help of Hermione, who studied the rules of death, the chances of successfully saving the child would be much better than Ryan doing it alone.
When Ryan and his friends quickly ran to the door of the principal's office, they realized that they didn't know the password to enter the office. Fortunately, Ryan had learned from Lupin during the Christmas holidays how to use a physical patronus to send messages. So he took out his wand and summoned his silver hairy crab patronus, then watched it disappear into the wall.
Ten seconds later, the stone monster at the door of the principal's office jumped to the side and the door opened. Ryan hurriedly pulled Hermione upstairs in two steps. After pushing open a door, the two saw Professor Dumbledore sitting at the big table in the principal's office, with a thick parchment book spread out on the table.
"Ryan, you just told me that you have something urgent to do and want to use my fireplace to leave my place? Can you tell me what happened?" Dumbledore asked Ryan and the others standing in front of him through his half-moon glasses.
"Professor, we have to go to Montgomery Manor now. Professor Lupin told us that the youngest five-year-old child of the Montgomery family was bitten by a werewolf and is now dying. I think Hermione and I may be able to save him." Ryan said at a very fast speed.
"Oh, if that's the case, you guys should hurry over." After hearing Ryan's explanation, Dumbledore immediately stood up and lit the fireplace with the Elder Wand, then handed over a small silver can filled with Floo powder. "I wish you all the best, and I also hope that the victim will get better in the end."
"Thank you, Professor." Ryan bowed slightly to Professor Dumbledore, then walked to the stove and threw a pinch of Floo powder into the flame. With a whoosh, the fire turned green, and Ryan walked in and shouted. "Montgomery Manor."
In an instant, he felt like he was stuffed into a drum washing machine, spinning rapidly. Finally, when Ryan felt like he was about to vomit, he rushed out from a white marble fireplace with gold lining.
As soon as he came out of the fireplace, he saw Lupin standing there waiting for him. After using his wand to help himself and Hermione who came out later clean up the coal ash, Ryan greeted Professor Lupin: "Good afternoon, Professor Lupin, how is the child now?"
"The situation is very bad." Lupin pursed his lips tightly, then waved Ryan to follow him. "But fortunately, under the effect of your potion, his condition has not worsened. His main problem now is the werewolf toxin in his body--"
As Professor Lupin introduced them, Ryan and his friends came to the second floor. After pushing open a white painted and gold painted wooden door, Ryan saw a child wrapped in bandages lying on the bed in the bedroom. A middle-aged couple who looked like the child's parents were staring at him nervously. In addition, there was a middle-aged man in his 50s with gray hair feeding some golden liquid in a glass bottle into the mouth of the child lying on the bed. He should be the werewolf named Clark.
After hearing the sound of the door opening, several people in the room looked up at the door at the same time. Lupin quickly stepped forward to explain Ryan and his team's identities to the injured's parents. Ryan and his team immediately walked to the bedside and began to prepare for treatment. "This - someone could be so cruel to such a young child." Just as Ryan began to set up the alchemy array, he heard Hermione exclaiming quietly beside him.
Ryan looked up at the bed and was also surprised by the injuries on the child: there were more than a dozen wounds on the child's small body, even the smallest one was as long as Ryan's little finger. And many of the wounds were not just cuts, but entire pieces of flesh disappeared.
"This should be done by a werewolf in wolf form." Hermione's voice was filled with uncontrollable anger. "And this werewolf was a natural-born werewolf and was conscious when he attacked the child."
"How did you know that?" Ryan asked as he placed a gold plate inlaid with gems and mithril runes on the ground.
"Because every wound on this child can cause enough pain and blood loss, but all of them avoid the vital parts." Hermione released blood mist from the tip of her wand to try to stop the bleeding wounds, but she soon frowned. "It seems that there is a strange force that is devouring the child's vitality and preventing these wounds from healing."
This should be the effect of the werewolf toxin. Ryan thought of this and said to Hermione, "First, use the blood mist to block his wound so that he will not continue to bleed. Leave the rest to me."
Finally, five minutes after entering the bedroom, Ryan built a small golden alchemy array in the middle of the bedroom. Then he signaled Lupin, who was standing at the door talking to the child's parents, that he was ready.
"Okay, let's go downstairs and wait in the living room." Professor Lupin said to the others, and then went downstairs first. The child's parents looked a little worried, but Lupin must have told them something before. After hesitating for a while, they looked at their son seriously, then raised their heads and looked at Ryan and the other two with begging eyes. After that, they said nothing, but turned around and left the bedroom with former Auror Clark, and closed the door before leaving.
"Let's get started." Ryan said to Hermione after seeing the others leave the room. Hermione immediately waved her wand and the blood-colored mist turned into a bunch of tentacles. Then these tentacles gently moved the boy from the bed to the alchemy array. The bandages that the boy had previously tied on his body had been removed, and all the wounds were blocked by the blood-colored mist so that they would no longer bleed.
After making sure that the boy was correctly placed in the designated position on the alchemy array, Ryan waved the hand with the ring towards the alchemy array. The circle around the alchemy array was filled with life potions, and the oil lamps with silver cast gold as the core lit up with golden flames. As the flames burned, the entire alchemy array was slowly covered with a thin layer of golden mist.
When the golden mist completely enveloped the child, the child's vital signs finally stabilized. This also meant that the treatment was officially underway.
It's time to start.
