Chapter 156 Letter from England
Chapter 156 Letter from England
After hearing the sound, Ryan stood up and saw an eagle owl carrying several letters knocking on the glass window of the carriage.
"Oh, my Hermes is back." Hermione opened the window to let her owl in. She took the envelopes brought by the owl and read them one by one, and finally handed the two letters to Ryan.
"Here is your letter."
Ryan received two letters from Hermione. One was a greeting letter from his parents, in which they told Ryan that they had received his letter and hoped that Ryan could take good care of himself in Brazil. Ryan felt the warmth of family from the letter.
The other letter was from the Weasley twins. They listed seven or eight questions on a thick sheet of parchment. Ryan smiled bitterly. It seemed that this meant he would have to work overtime again this weekend. But since he had made the decision to get involved in the twins' business, he had to go ahead no matter how hard or tiring it was.
Ryan had just finished reading two letters when Hermione waved a letter in front of him: "This is a letter from Ginny to both of us. I think you should take a look too."
After tearing open the envelope, Ryan and Hermione found that apart from the simple greetings and the school's current situation, most of the rest of the content was about Harry. It seemed that she was indeed Harry's number one fan.
The reason why Ginny wrote this letter was that last year, everyone gathered together every night to do homework, and sometimes Ginny would seek psychological counseling from Ryan or Hermione. So even though the two of them were not in school this year, they still wrote letters from afar to ask about certain things and inform about the current situation of the school.
"Why do we feel that everyone we know has bad luck this week?" Hermione said after reading the letter. "Harry was knocked unconscious by the Dementors on the train, and the divination teacher said in the divination class that Harry had encountered an ominous fate and would not live long. Ginny is very nervous about this, so she specifically wants to ask what is going on with our two Harrys?"
"For the others, it's good news that Hagrid has become a professor, but the Hippogriff he brought with him in the first class injured Malfoy, which is a big problem. As an old family, the Malfoys will definitely not let it go. I hope Hagrid doesn't lose his job because of this. And Neville was treated badly by Professor Snape because of the Boggart in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class."
"The worst thing is that there are now hundreds of Dementors surrounding the entire Hogwarts. They say it's for protection, but I guess the school has become not much different from Azkaban now. I really don't know what those people in the Ministry of Magic are thinking."
Seeing Hermione was a little angry, Ryan quickly changed the subject and said, "You write better than me, so you should write the reply to Ginny."
"Okay, but I don't know why Harry's reaction to Dementors is stronger than others. I also don't understand what that ominous word in Divination class is. How do I reply to Ginny? I can't just talk nonsense." Hermione said with some distress.
"I actually know this." Ryan wanted to keep it a secret, but when he saw Hermione's look, he quickly said what he knew. "You know, I went to learn the Patronus Charm yesterday, and the professor introduced the characteristics of Dementors to us. One important characteristic is that it absorbs the happiness of people around it and makes them recall the worst moments of their lives."
"The worst moment, isn't it?" Hermione widened her eyes and opened her mouth slightly as if she had thought of something.
"Yes, Harry will recall the day his parents were killed. That's why he fainted. I think most other people don't have such a bad experience." Ryan said seriously. "Although this fact sounds bad, it is better than the rumor that he is a coward that is circulating in the school now." Hermione nodded, and then asked, "What about the ominous one? Ginny said that his brother Ron told him that Harry did meet a huge black dog when he came out of his aunt's house."
"Tell Ginny later that she doesn't need to worry. The Divination professor is well known for being unreliable. I once heard from a senior that the professor predicts that someone will die every year, but it has never come true. As usual, other professors will refute the rumor. As for the big black dog, Harry said he encountered it in the Muggle world. You know, there are a lot of people who keep dogs in the UK, so it's not strange to encounter one or two large black stray dogs. Hermione, I believe you and I should have encountered them before."
"Indeed." Hermione thought for a moment and said, "I saw a black stray dog running past my house last year. How could there be so many ominous signs? I'm so glad I listened to you and didn't sign up for the Divination class last year, otherwise I would not be able to bear it this year. Oh, by the way, since you said such a big thing, why didn't Harry write to us? Do we need to write him a letter to say hello?"
"What will he write? Should Harry tell us in person that he fainted embarrassingly after encountering the Dementors? With such a stubborn personality, he definitely doesn't want to reveal his vulnerable side to his friends. So let's not write a letter, lest he feel unhappy." Ryan thought for a moment, shook his head and said to Hermione.
"Okay, now you reply to Ginny. I'll go back and write a letter to Hagrid, asking him to ask Ron for help. After all, Ron was born in the wizarding world and knows a lot of people. He will definitely be able to introduce Hagrid to a more reliable legal aid. Then I'll write a letter to Neville to comfort him."
"Okay, after all, we are too far away to help. It's only right to write a letter to say hello." Hermione nodded, and finally said as if she had thought of something.
"Well, can you teach me the Patronus Charm you are learning now? After all, there are so many Dementors in Hogwarts now. I am worried that if they are still there when we return, it will be very dangerous."
"I don't think Dumbledore will allow them to enter the castle. It shouldn't be that dangerous. But if you are willing to learn this magic, I can teach you. After all, no professor has ever said that it cannot be spread to others."
After that, the two said goodbye to each other and went back to their dormitories to write letters. However, Ryan spent a long time writing the letter to the twin brothers. In order to send it out on the weekend, Ryan even asked Hermione to help analyze some things.
"Where did you learn all this?" Hermione asked curiously while helping Ryan organize and classify the data.
"Read books, but you only read things related to the textbooks. I read a lot more than you do, which is why I can't do as well as you in the exams. But if you want to live a good life in the wizarding world in the future, what you read in the optics textbooks is definitely not enough."
"Okay, what you said may make sense. But I haven't figured out what knowledge I should learn besides studying courses yet." Hermione said as she piled the sorted materials on top of a pile of books.
With the efforts of the two, they finally finished writing all the letters that needed to be replied to by the weekend. Ryan smiled with satisfaction as he watched Hermes slowly fly away with a large package of letters.
