Chapter 113 The Adventure Ends
When he reached the door, Ryan received 20 deflection points for killing the basilisk. It seemed that the harvest was not bad this time.
After walking out of the small door, the door quickly closed behind Ryan and returned to its original state, looking no different from the wall in this section. After observing the wall, he saw a small carving of two letters S stacked on top of each other on a brick.
After noting the approximate location of the door on this section of the wall, Ryan began to walk in the corridor. He found that he had never been here before, so he was eager to find a way out.
There were no windows in this corridor, and it was all lit by torches burning on the wall. Ryan took out his pocket watch and saw that it was already nine o'clock in the morning. It was easy to judge that he was in the basement.
After walking for a while, he suddenly heard footsteps around the corner. Ryan subconsciously cast an illusion spell on himself, then huddled in a corner without moving (because of his low level, he would be easily discovered if he moved).
Several students wearing silver-green scarves walked past the intersection in front, then said something to a wall. A door opened on the wall and they went in.
It turned out that this was the location of the Slytherin common room. Ryan walked towards the direction those people came from.
A few minutes later, he came to a large staircase. He recognized this as the only way to attend the weekly potion class: the big staircase leading to the underground classroom. After confirming that there was no one around, Ryan lifted the disillusionment spell on his body and walked up the stairs.
As soon as Ryan returned to the common room, he met the Weasley twins. Fred saw Ryan and greeted him: "Ryan, where did you go for a night out? Why are you so embarrassed?" "Yeah, we smelled the smell on you as soon as you came in." George agreed.
Ryan felt very nervous when he first heard Fred talk about night walks. Then he thought about how he had just spent several hours in an underground pipe that had not been cleaned for at least half a century. For the twins, who were experienced night walkers, it was easy to tell that he had gone out for a night walk.
It seems that they didn't find out that I went to the secret room. Thinking of this, Ryan breathed a sigh of relief and said with a smile: "I found a secret passage yesterday, so I walked a long way along it and only came back this morning."
"Where does that secret passage lead to?" Fred asked excitedly.
"I found a secret passage leading to the other side of the Black Lake behind the statue of Gregory the Flatterer." Ryan recalled a plot in the book.
"For a good kid like you, it's not easy to find a secret passage. But we discovered that place in the first week of school." George said with some disinterest when he heard that they knew the secret passage.
"By the way, we are going to trial-produce a new product tonight. Do you want to come and have a look?" Fred suddenly thought of something and invited Ryan.
It seems that my previous help to them was not in vain. If I can get it done this time, maybe I can get in touch with them more deeply and participate in their business. Considering how prosperous their business was in the original book, being an early partner should be a very promising thing.
Thinking of this, Ryan smiled and said to the twins: "Of course, I have always been curious about your research. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to participate."
After hearing Ryan's answer, George said to Fred, "See, I told you a long time ago that many of our friends can't concentrate on research. Only by finding some, uh... people who like to study can they help us."
You mean nerds? Ryan said goodbye to the twins and went back to his dorm to pack his things.
After washing up and changing into a new set of clothes, Ryan opened the space door and went to the Plants vs. Zombies World to develop the photos he had taken.
When he stepped out of the space door, he found himself in the warehouse, and Dave was standing beside him in a white coat studying the garbage he had thrown in. Dave was startled when he saw Ryan suddenly appear, and then he said to Ryan excitedly: "Dave found a magical snake blood in the things you threw over here, and the DNA showed that this snake has lived for more than 1000 years. It's incredible."
"You have to know that there is magic in my world, so sometimes things that you think are impossible are real." After saying that, he handed a fang in a box to Dave. "This is one of the few remaining parts of the snake. The residual toxin is very strong. Be careful when handling it. The rest was completely absorbed by a mutant fire dragon grass I cultivated."
Dave took the box, opened it and looked at it, then closed it and said in surprise: "Fire dragon grass? How is that possible? If you said it was done by the Piranha Plant, I would believe it."
Seeing Dave's disbelief, Ryan took out the dragon grass from the grocery store and handed it to Dave. After checking it, Dave had to admit that he couldn't tell what was wrong with the dragon grass. The only thing he could be sure of was that it was in good condition.
After looking at the dragon grass, Dave asked, "By the way, what are you doing here now?"
"I found something in the snake's den that was left by a great wizard in our area, so I took a picture of it. I'm here to develop the picture and see if anyone can help me translate the Latin text in it."
"You should come to me for this matter. We found a data storage center in the city a few days ago. I used the data in it to upgrade my artificial intelligence. I can use artificial intelligence to help you translate directly in a while."
After that, Dave put down what he was holding, and took Ryan to the basement of the fortress. Finally, he led him to the door of an underground darkroom where photos were developed.
"Your technological level is so advanced, why do you still use this kind of film camera?" Ryan asked with some confusion.
"There's nothing we can do. Dr. Zombie King has made a lot of electromagnetic pulse generators in the zombie gathering area. All digital cameras will malfunction near there."
Soon the film was developed, and Dave took Ryan to the deepest machine room underground. Seeing his eagerness, Ryan thought that Dave might have a strong interest in the research of another world.
After putting the photo into the dedicated scanner, the scanner quickly scanned the text on the photo. Fortunately, Slytherin's handwriting was very clear and did not cause much difficulty for the system to recognize.
"The computer here is just a minicomputer, connected to the mainframe in my laboratory in town through an underground optical cable. So the recognition speed here is far beyond your imagination." Dave said proudly to Ryan while waiting for recognition.
A few minutes later, the computer beeped, indicating that it had completed all the text recognition in the photo. Ryan and Dave immediately sat in front of the monitor to see what this great wizard from thousands of years ago had left behind.
I miss the chapter reviews a lot. Even though there aren’t many, they’re better than the single-player feeling of a stupid author.
