Hogwarts Raven's Claw
Chapter 6 Pride and Prejudice
Chapter 6 Pride and Prejudice
"The textbooks in the wizarding world are shit!"
After failing to cast the petrification spell for the 200th time, Mike threw the book in his hand away.
During these two days, Mike spent all his time studying the first-year textbooks of Hogwarts. Although they were old books donated by senior students, Mike's luck was as good as always. These books were complete judging by the page numbers.
There are not many magic spells that a first-grade wizard can learn, and the one Mike wants to learn most is the petrification spell.
This magic can make the target lose the ability to resist instantly. If the magic level is high enough, it can even turn the victim into stone.
But it turned out that Mike was a little too fanciful. He could not learn the petrification spell just by reading books. It was not because he did not have enough magical talent, but because the textbooks in the wizarding world were so poor.
These books are just like Chinese recipes, filled with quantifiers such as "a little" and "a proper amount". But magic is not cooking. When cooking, you can at least eat it no matter how much seasoning you put in. But magic requires fast and precise movements and spells. Who knows how much the tone of voice will be raised when chanting a spell?
In fact, this is also understandable.
After all, this is just a textbook written by the British wizarding community for young wizards, and the entire British wizarding community has only a few tens of thousands of people.
This is equivalent to a few teachers in a small town in the United States writing a few textbooks for students in their school. It would be strange if the quality was high.
Helpless Mike can only choose to seek help from the customers of the Leaky Cauldron.
"Go away! Mudbloods! Go back to your mud pit!" A drunken wizard said to Mike who came over to chat him up. "It's because of you Mudbloods that the entire wizarding world is in such a mess!"
Hearing the sound, Mike was furious. He stepped forward and knocked the wine glass that the wizard was raising to his mouth away.
"What did you say? Say it again if you can!"
The wizard didn't expect Mike to dare to do this. He stretched out his hand wet with wine and pushed Mike to the ground. At the same time, he took out the wand from his pocket with his other hand and pointed it at Mike.
"You filthy Mudblood! How dare you be so disrespectful to a distinguished pure-blood wizard! Hang the fuchsia bell!"
Mike only felt a huge force pulling his pants and hanging him upside down. The belt could not withstand the huge force and broke with a "snap".
Mike's pants were pulled down almost instantly, revealing his red underwear.
Seeing Mike's embarrassed look, everyone in the bar burst into laughter.
Listening to the laughter of the people in the bar, Mike felt that an unprecedented anger was about to overwhelm all his rationality. "Ah!" With Mike's roar, a shock wave came out from Mike's body and attacked all around.
With a loud bang, the Leaky Cauldron was in a mess, and all the tables and chairs around Mike were smashed to pieces. The wizard who had cast a spell on him was embedded in the counter, but he was not injured. The bar owner Tom had just added a piece of armor to protect him.
"How dare you do this!" Tom walked out from behind the counter angrily. "Get your garbage out of my bar! Now! You are not welcome here!"
Mike knew that Tom was doing this for his own good. If he continued to stay here, people from the Ministry of Magic would come to investigate, but he still refused to accept it.
He stared at the wizard's face embedded in the counter with cold eyes, and memorized this face firmly in his mind. Then he left the Leaky Cauldron quickly without saying a word. After seeing Mike leave, Tom ordered the waiter to throw Mike's luggage out, and then squatted in front of the pure-blood wizard to check his injuries.
On the other side, Mike didn't go far. He was hiding outside the Leaky Cauldron waiting for someone.
Mike couldn't stand such grievance!
The shockwave just now damaged the fireplace in the Leaky Cauldron, which could not be repaired by the repair spell, so if the customers in the bar wanted to leave tonight, they could only go to Diagon Alley to find another fireplace, or directly Apparate. Looking at the wizard who was slowly getting up, Mike felt that he was definitely not able to use such a high-level spell in his current state.
I don't know how long it took, but the pure-blood wizard didn't leave. He was still bragging about how many Muggle wizards he had bullied and how easy it was to get along with those Muggle-born witches. Finally, when the bar closed, the pure-blood wizard staggered out of the bar.
Mike hid himself in the darkness and followed the wizard in front.
The wizard seemed to be too drunk and lost the ability to cast spells. He did not choose to go to the fireplace, but wandered aimlessly in Diagon Alley, and finally fell asleep in front of a shop.
He never woke up from this sleep, and while the effect of his magic burst had not yet worn off, Mike tied him to a big rock and threw him into a river beside Diagon Alley.
By the river "Pure blood? Ha." Mike was holding the purse he had found on the wizard, looking relaxed. In his pocket, two magic wands were lying quietly.
In fact, being kicked out of the Leaky Cauldron did not affect Mike much. That night, he booked a room in an inn near the Leaky Cauldron that was willing to accommodate him. As for learning magic, with the wand contributed by the pure-blood wizard, Mike could now learn magic at will.
Since the wizard who wrote the teaching materials was not very familiar with the use of quantifiers, Mike could only use the process of elimination to find the correct casting posture.
Lucky Mike was indeed a man of great luck. He found the spell-casting technique of petrifying everything after less than 100 attempts, and thus mastered the spell.
As for the pure-blood wizard, his wand was engraved with the crest of the pure-blood family 28 - the Burke family.
Mike didn't care about this. What a joke. The guy named Bock would be eaten by fish and shrimps until only bones were left in two months at the latest. The Bock family would not be able to find a kid like him who was only 11 years old.
Mike always thought that he was a very tolerant person. He would forgive any grudge as long as the right price was paid. Mike felt that the pure-blood wizard's price of using his life and wand was enough.
As for the Bock family, Mike has no intention of taking revenge, and he may even cooperate with them if there is a chance in the future.
After all, there are no eternal enemies, only eternal interests.
More than half a month passed in the blink of an eye.
For more than half a month, Mike has been studying the magic in books. His hard work paid off and he finally mastered several simple and commonly used magic.
At this moment, he was dragging a large box on his way to King's Cross Station in England. As he mastered more and more magic, he became more and more eager for magic. He couldn't wait to go to Hogwarts to learn more powerful magic.
He ignored the strange looks from the people around him and walked towards Platform 9 and a quarter, where there was a magical door waiting for him to open.
And in front of the door, Harry Potter was talking to a group of people with red hair.
