Hogwarts Raven's Claw

Chapter 524: Equality at Hogwarts

Chapter 524: Equality at Hogwarts
"Students, I wish you a happy weekend. get out of class is dismissed now!"

As Professor Slughorn announced the end of get out of class, the students in the Potions classroom cheered and rushed out of the classroom. The next two days would be their rare vacation.

But just as everyone was heading towards the auditorium, lounge and other places, Harry saw Hermione alone, holding a stack of books, running hurriedly towards Hufflepuff House.

"Hermione, what are you doing there?"

Harry chased after her and asked, but Hermione raised a book that she was holding alone and said:

"I'm going to promote this book to the house-elves in the kitchen. Maybe those rigid-minded house-elves will pay more attention to their rights."

Harry looked closely and saw that it was a copy of The Quibbler.

This magazine was just a niche magazine before. Except for a very small number of core fans, other people basically just treated it as a pastime when they were bored. After all, the records of various unknown creatures in it were so bizarre that no one would really take it seriously.

But all this changed not long ago.

"The Quibbler" began to report first-hand news about the equality issues of Muggles and wizards in the outside world, which was unusual. This aroused the interest of the young wizards who were imprisoned in Hogwarts and had no access to the outside world.

Later, a statement published by Mike on it resonated with most of the students at Hogwarts, making it one of the must-read magazines for Hogwarts students every day, with almost everyone owning a copy.

Even Harry himself felt that Mike's statement was correct. There were indeed many injustices in the wizarding world today that needed to be corrected.

But hearing that this matter had caused a big stir outside and that many people had made their own statements for it, Harry, who was kind-hearted by nature, felt a little reluctant and confused.

He has become a little confused. Is it worth doing this?
If possible, Harry really wanted to ask Mike in person, believing that he would be able to give him a satisfactory answer.

It’s a pity that Mike is no longer in Hogwarts. He disappeared inexplicably one night and no one knew where he went.

A student is missing.

This should have been a very serious matter, but strangely, neither Mike's friends nor professors cared about it.

Perhaps he was thinking too deeply, he couldn't help but say the second half of the sentence.

"Of course it's worth it!" Hermione screamed, then opened the book "The Quibbler" and read, "Poverty makes men miserable, hunger makes women degenerate, darkness makes children weak, and what we have to do is to change all this! Look! What he said is so good! This is a great cause! I am even willing to give everything I have for it!"

"But... that sentence seems to be said by Hugo..."

"Do you think I don't know that?" Hermione retorted, blushing, "Or do you think I'm an idiot?"

"No, of course I'm not..."

"Then shut up!"

"Okay... okay."

Harry closed his mouth somewhat disappointedly, and silently followed Hermione towards the Hogwarts kitchen.

He had been feeling that something was wrong with Hermione for some time. Not only did she not come to play with them every day, but she even seemed to be much more relaxed in her studies.

This is also the reason why Harry had to follow Hermione today. He really wanted to find out what was going on.

In fact, there were many people in a similar situation to Hermione, just like the classmates Harry and Hermione saw along the way. Almost everyone of them had a copy of "The Quibbler" in their hands, and they all looked in a hurry.

But the strange thing is that no matter how busy they are, as long as they meet students who are holding "The Quibbler" like them, they will go up to say hello enthusiastically, but when they meet guys like Harry who have nothing in their hands, they will look coldly at them.

The most exaggerated one is Filch. Now the Hogwarts janitor and cleaner has been completely conquered. Like those students, he reads "The Quibbler" non-stop every day and is unwilling to put it down even when eating.

This state is undoubtedly not conducive to work. As a matter of fact, the cleanliness of the Hogwarts corridors has obviously declined a lot during this period. The reason for all this is that Filch was too obsessed with "The Quibbler" and slacked off at work.

He no longer went out on patrol at night. Even if the students who were out at night made a lot of noise, he would not care. Instead, he would hide in his office filled with the smell of grilled fish and continue watching "The Quibbler" by the light of the oil lamp.

According to the descriptions of several night walkers, they often saw Filch reading Mike's article "Squibs are people too! They have the same rights!" from The Quibbler to Mrs. Norris over and over again.

Now, whenever Harry imagined Filch staring with his eyes as bright as light bulbs in the middle of the night, slowly telling Mrs. Norris the details of the article in that cramped and dark little house, he felt a chill down his spine!
That's really weird!

But when he told this to Ron and Hermione, he did not get the response he wanted. Ron and Hermione actually expressed sympathy for Filch.

In Hermione's words:
"This is the last ray of hope for the poor old Squib!"

Then starting from the next day, the two of them brought some classmates to help Filch clean Hogwarts, which moved Filch so much that he shed tears.

This was also the first time Harry saw Filch's dry eye sockets so wet.

Of course, that's not the point.

The point is that his classmates are actually willing to help Filch with his work? They even look so happy?

This is simply the most ridiculous thing in the world!

You know, they usually hate Filch to the core!
All of this made Harry feel strongly out of place. Compelled by this feeling, he instinctively began to look for people of the same kind who had not been affected yet.

As a result, he searched everywhere and found that in the entire Hogwarts, only the Slytherin students could be considered normal.

The rest of the students, and even some professors including Flitwick, were so absorbed in The Quibbler that they seemed a little strange to Mike.

But Slytherin's normality only lasted for a short time.

After an initial resistance to The Quibbler and Michael, misfortune soon befell the Slytherins.

First, the students from the other three colleges began to boycott Slytherin students spontaneously, which made it difficult for them to move forward in Hogwarts. Harry felt that this was actually nothing for Slytherin, after all, they always liked to be alone before.

But then Draco unexpectedly jumped out and publicly expressed his support for Mike's remarks. He admitted that the pure-bloods in Slytherin did discriminate against Muggle-born classmates in the past, and said that he would strictly discipline Slytherin students in the future to put an end to such behavior.

Needless to say, although this group's speech that he was the leader of Slytherin earned him the favor of other members of other colleges, it also made him the target of public criticism within Slytherin.

Almost all Slytherins regarded Draco as a traitor, and some even publicly declared that Draco was just like Ron, a scum among pure-bloods!

Harry felt that there must be something wrong with Draco's brain, otherwise he would never say such stupid words. You have to know that he is a Slytherin, and if he arouses the anger of Slytherin, his future days will definitely be very difficult.

But to Harry's surprise, this time things still did not develop as he expected.

Faced with the Slytherins' impending revenge, Franklin took decisive action.

In the name of Mike, he led the Ravenclaws and members of the Los Santos Security Company to directly attack the entire Slytherin and pushed Draco back to the position of the boss of Slytherin. It was not until this time that everyone finally understood that Draco had always been Mike's man.

From then on, no matter what the students of Hogwarts thought in their hearts, at least on the surface they had become supporters of Mike's theory. Even Hagrid, who once had a grudge against Mike and killed his pet, has now become a die-hard fan of Mike, waiting by the window all day for the owl to bring him the new issue of "The Quibbler".

If there is anyone in Hogwarts who has not been influenced by Michael, apart from professors like Dumbledore, the only ones left are the hardworking house-elves.

But now Hermione seemed to have noticed this and began to try to recommend "The Quibbler" to them.

But to be honest, Harry didn't think Hermione could really convince the house-elves to fight for their rights.

You know, Hermione had already set up a 'Vomiting Association' a few years ago in an attempt to help the house-elves get rid of their current situation of being enslaved.

But the actual situation was that those house-elves were too stubborn. They were not willing to accept Hermione's ideas at all, and even verbally abused and beat them. In the end, only Mike supported Hermione as a friend and paid salaries to the house-elves in his home.

Even so, the two normal house-elves in Mike's house were still protesting, thinking it was an insult to them!

Thinking of this, the expression on Harry's face couldn't help but become a little strange.

Because if it went as he expected, they would probably be driven out by the house-elves this time.

At this moment, Hermione, who was walking in front, suddenly stopped, causing Harry to almost bump into her.

"Here we are!"

Hermione spoke with a firm look in her eyes, it didn't seem like she was talking to Harry, but rather like she was cheering herself up.

Then he ignored Harry and went straight into the kitchen with a copy of The Quibbler in his hand.

This was the time when the house-elves were busy. The whole kitchen was filled with the smell of oil smoke, and tableware and various ingredients were flying all over the place. The house-elves were busy on the kitchen counter flexibly.

Looking at this scene, Harry couldn't help but feel emotional.

I heard that they have to repeat such busy work three times a day, each time lasting at least 2 hours, otherwise the professors and students of Hogwarts will face the risk of going hungry.

Not only that, after completing the work in the kitchen, they also need to be responsible for the cleaning work everywhere in Hogwarts Castle. The lawn outside the castle also needs to be mowed, otherwise Hogwarts would have become a garbage dump long ago if it were just a Squib like Filch.

It can be said that this is a group of people who have been silently contributing to Hogwarts for thousands of years.

The reason they did this was just to repay Ms. Hufflepuff for taking them in and giving them a place to live.

"These are magnificent creatures!"

Harry made a judgment, and for a moment, he even felt that he understood why Hermione set up the "Vomiting Society" and why Mike had to participate in this massive resistance movement outside.

Such a great creature should not be treated like this all the time!

At this moment, the house-elves in the kitchen also noticed the arrival of Harry and Hermione.

They originally thought that Harry and Hermione were just ordinary students who came to the kitchen to look for food, and they came over with a smirk on their faces to receive the two.

But when they saw Hermione, the smiles on their faces disappeared instantly, and were replaced by looks of horror!

"The devil is here again!"

The leading house-elf screamed and shouted, and then the originally noisy kitchen suddenly became quiet as if someone had pressed the mute button.

All the house-elves stared at Hermione in amazement.

The next moment, screams of terror resounded throughout the kitchen. In an instant, all the house-elves disappeared, leaving only the flame in the stove still flickering.

Three black lines ran down Hermione's forehead. She was really speechless. Ever since she had persuaded these house-elves to ask for wages from Hogwarts a few years ago, these house-elves had always treated her in the same manner. And judging from the current situation, these stubborn house-elves seemed to remember this incident for the rest of their lives, and might even tell it to their children, letting Hermione's devilish reputation continue.

When she thought of this, Hermione couldn't help feeling depressed.

Harry, who was beside her, was amused and was covering his mouth to hold back his laughter.

After glaring at Harry, Hermione took a deep breath, then raised The Quibbler in her hand high in the air and shouted:

"I have a book here that contains what Mike wants to say to you. Does any of you want to listen to it?"

As soon as these words came out, Harry was surprised to find that little heads secretly popped out from small corners of the kitchen, looking at them in shock.
