Hogwarts Raven's Claw
Chapter 51 Test
Chapter 51 Test
The space inside the cabin is very large, and it can be seen that this place, like No. 210 in Godric's Hollow, has been cast with the Traceless Extension Charm.
When Mike and Professor Flitwick entered the cabin, they found that someone had already arrived early.
I saw two middle-aged men sitting on both sides of a huge conference table, crossing their legs and chatting.
Seeing Mike and Flitwick come in, a middle-aged man with brown curly hair greeted them enthusiastically.
"Filius! Long time no see." The middle-aged man squatted down and gave Flitwick a hug. "We must have a good drink today. It's really hard to see you since you stay in Hogwarts every day."
"Hahaha, after we finish today's business, we won't go home until we're drunk."
Hearing Flitwick talking about business, the middle-aged man looked at Mike and asked, "Is this the good seedling you mentioned?"
"That's right, Mike Townley, the most talented child I have ever seen in all my years of teaching at Hogwarts." Professor Flitwick introduced, "Mike, this is Mario Foley, the current deputy director of the Auror Office. You should be familiar with his son, Abbot Foley from our college, who was the President of the Hogwarts Boys' Union last year."
"I've heard a lot about you, Mr. Foley." Mike stretched out his right hand and said calmly, "Senior Abbott has always been my idol. I often hear him talk about how he has an excellent father. I heard that he got 12 A's in his OWLs this year, which is really amazing."
It turns out that whether in the East or the West, parents like to hear others praise their children.
As soon as Mr. Mario heard Mike talking about his son, he immediately laughed heartily, shook Mike's hand and shook it vigorously. It can be seen that he is a very straightforward person.
Seeing how happily the two of them were getting along, Professor Flitwick's smile grew even brighter.
"Let me introduce this gentleman." Flitwick pointed to the middle-aged man who was sitting alone at the conference table and looked a little cold. "Mr. Barty Crouch, the current Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, a member of the Wizengamot Council, and a strong contender for the post of Minister of Magic."
When old Barty heard Flitwick introduce himself like this, his face, which was originally a little dark, turned livid. Everyone knew that he lost to Fudge in the election for Minister of Magic that year because his son Barty Crouch Jr. was a Death Eater. Flitwick actually called himself a strong contender for the position of Minister of Magic in public today. In his opinion, this was simply a naked insult.
However, his good upbringing prevented him from doing anything extreme, and he nodded slightly towards Mike.
Seeing this, Mike naturally wouldn't try to please someone else, so he just said hello and treated it as an acquaintance.
After introducing the two people, Professor Flitwick stood on tiptoe and looked around, as if he was looking for something.
"Where's old Carter? He is the host of today's test. Why can't I see him?" Flitwick turned and asked Mario.
"Who knows? He must have lost his way. You know, he's old, so it's normal for him to have some dementia or something like that." Mr. Mario joked, "Ah, if you mention the devil, he'll appear."
As the two were talking, a man with a goatee, white hair and beard, who looked older than Dumbledore, pushed the door and walked into the cabin.
"I seem to hear someone saying bad things about me, is that you, Mario?" the old man asked with a smile. "Haha, you must have heard it wrong, Carter. We are introducing you to Little Mac." Mr. Mario laughed twice and began to change the subject, "This is Gilgar Carter, former head of the Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters, and a permanent member of the Wizengamot Council."
"This is little Mike, what a handsome boy." Before Mike could say anything, Gilga's big hand covered his head and said kindly, "Filius told me everything about you, you are such a poor child."
Mike felt the warmth coming from above his head, and was a little uncomfortable. Although he had been in this body for more than a year, he still didn't like people patting him on the head like a child, so he could only smile dryly and say hello.
The four of them were chatting and laughing at the door, and old Batty beside them felt a little uncomfortable. He took out his pocket watch and took a look at it, then interrupted impatiently.
"Now that everyone is here, let's get started. I still have a lot of work to do."
Mario was obviously unhappy about the interruption of the conversation. He still wanted to continue talking about his son with his two old friends.
"Well, since Crouch still has official business to attend to, let's get down to business first." Mr. Carter stretched out his hand to stop Mario who was about to have an outburst, and said in a conversational tone.
After saying that, he took out his magic wand from his robe and waved it gently. A silver-white bird stand appeared on the conference table, with a huge raven standing upright on it. The raven was about one meter tall, with dark feathers that shone dimly, and the lines on each feather were clear. The pair of claws were as big as an adult's palm, and the sharp claws flashed a cold light from time to time.
At first Mike thought it was a living raven, but when he noticed that the raven was standing motionless on the bird stand, he realized it was a sculpture.
"Okay gentlemen, today's test ceremony will begin." Carter's dry voice brought Mike back to consciousness, "The person being tested this time is Mike Townley, and his recommender is Filius Flitwick.
The host was Gilgeous-Alexander Carter and the test witnesses were Mario Foley and Barty Crouch.
After Carter introduced the people on the scene to the raven statue, he said to Mike, "Don't be nervous. This raven statue is one of the relics left by Ms. Ravenclaw. It can test whether you are qualified to join the Raven's Nest. The test method is very simple. Just stare into the raven's eyes. It won't be dangerous. Come on."
Hearing this, Mike didn't hesitate. He took a deep breath, suppressed his inner tension, and walked to the raven statue under the gaze of everyone.
Once you get closer, you'll discover the exquisiteness of this statue. Anyone who sees this statue for the first time will definitely mistake it for a living raven.
Its eyes were not as dead as those of ordinary specimens or statues, but instead gave people a lively feeling. It seemed to have a kind of magic. Mike only stared at it for a moment and felt that the surrounding things began to fade. Only the dark brown vertical pupil in his field of vision began to become clearer and clearer.
As time passed, all of Mike's attention was focused on that eye.
Suddenly, the originally quiet statue blinked, and its eye suddenly looked towards Mike.
Mike was startled by the sudden change. He looked around and found himself in a sea of light blue.
