Hogwarts Raven's Claw

Chapter 30 Mirror of Erised

Chapter 30 Mirror of Erised

That night, Mike, who had been practicing in the Room of Requests until late at night as usual, dragged his tired body out of the Room of Requests. Since he discovered the Room of Requests, Mike would come here to practice almost whenever he had time, and after mastering meditation, Mike added meditation to his practice. As a result, he was exhausted and looked like a zombie almost every time he walked out of the Room of Requests.

Mike held onto the wall and walked into the secret passage leading to the Ravenclaw Tower. Fortunately, this secret passage was extremely unscientific. The Room of Requirement was very far from the Ravenclaw Tower, but it only took a few tens of seconds to reach it. At first, Mike had doubts about this, but now Mike is really glad that this secret passage exists. He just wants to go back to his bed and have a good sleep.

It was pitch dark inside the secret passage, and Mike could only move forward relying on the flickering fluorescent light.

A minute later, Mike discovered that there seemed to be something wrong with this secret passage.

Normally, according to his walking speed, he should have seen the exit of the secret passage by now, but now all Mike could see was endless darkness.

Mike perked up, thinking that he might have triggered the mechanism and changed the destination of the secret passage.

It was unknown how long it had passed, but the exit of the secret passage finally appeared in front of Mike, but Mike was not in a hurry to go out.

Ravenclaw's tower is located next to the Owl House, where the lighting is very good, allowing Mike to see the surrounding situation even at night.

But judging by the light coming through the entrance of the secret passage this time, the destination of this secret passage is definitely not Ravenclaw Tower.

Mike turned off the fluorescent light in his hand and slowly moved along the wall to the exit of the secret passage.

This is a very spacious room, which looks like an abandoned classroom, with dusty desks and chairs piled up in the corner.

Where the podium should have been was placed an object that was out of place with the surroundings: a huge full-length mirror.

Under the moonlight outside the window, everything in the abandoned classroom was visible. The full-length mirror was quietly placed there, reflecting the moonlight, looking eerie.

Mike walked out of the secret passage carefully. The moment he left the secret passage, the entrance to the secret passage on the wall of the classroom disappeared silently. Mike fumbled on the wall where the secret passage was originally located for a while, but did not find any mechanism, and his heart sank.

Fortunately, the door of the abandoned classroom was still open, so Mike didn't have to worry about being trapped here.

After observing for a while and not noticing anyone else in the classroom, Mike turned his gaze to the only unusual thing here, the full-length mirror.

When I got closer, I realized that the mirror was incredibly large, reaching the ceiling. The frame was golden and decorated with extremely gorgeous wood carvings. A line of words was engraved on the top: Erisstra Ehruait Ubikafruait Onvohes.

Mike was shocked. Isn't this the Mirror of Erised? It was brought to Hogwarts so early. In the original book, Harry found this mirror after Christmas.

The Mirror of Erised is called the Mirror of Desire in legend. It can display the things that the user desires most in the form of a picture in front of the user. Many great men in history have fallen under its magic and wanted to die, including the famous Merlin. Although he knew that he might be immersed in the illusion created by it, Mike couldn't help but look at himself in the mirror. He really wanted to know what he wanted most. In fact, most people don't know what they want most in their hearts. Everyone just follows their instincts and lives in a daze. Being able to see clearly what you want is a necessary quality to become a great man.

Mike saw himself in the mirror. Although his face was very different from his current self, Mike still recognized him. It was his previous life, the greasy middle-aged man.

There were many people standing around the greasy middle-aged man, all of them were his relatives and friends from his previous life.

His wife Amanda was hugging him tightly in her wedding dress. The woman in the mirror was not as old and ugly as she was when Mike died in his previous life. She still maintained the same radiant face as when she was young. Mike swore that she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.

There were three people standing behind them. His eldest daughter, Tracy, was wearing a gorgeous evening gown, looking as graceful as a princess from a fairy tale. His youngest son, Jimmy, was wearing a doctoral gown and holding a roll of paper tied with red silk. Mike knew it was a graduation certificate. A little further away, a slightly bald man was holding a bottle of wine and smiling at the family of four, taking a sip from time to time.

"Trevor." Mike murmured.

Mike stared at everything in the mirror in a daze, tears unknowingly wetting his cheeks.

He stretched out his hand and wanted to touch Amanda's face, but what he felt in his hand was not Amanda's warm skin, but a cold and smooth mirror.

It has been almost a year since he came to the world of Harry Potter. During this year, Mike has been using hard training to numb his longing for his family and friends, and this suppressed emotion finally erupted tonight.

Mike's emotions finally broke down. He collapsed to the ground, holding the Mirror of Erised and burst into tears.

Mike always thought that he was still the carefree and carefree gangster he was back then, and that family and friends were dispensable. But he never expected that they were the ones he cared about the most in the end.

In the shadows of the classroom, Dumbledore watched Mike crying. He was familiar with Mike's reaction, as he had the same reaction when he first saw his family in the Mirror of Erised.

Seeing Mike at this moment was like seeing himself back then. Dumbledore sighed silently, and his figure gradually became transparent, and finally disappeared.

He had brought Mike to this abandoned classroom today in order to test Mike using the Mirror of Erised. He had originally thought that when Mike was trapped in the illusion of the Mirror of Erised, he would suddenly appear and teach Mike a lesson about love.

However, this is probably not necessary now, as Mike's performance was excellent, much better than the best scenario Dumbledore had expected.

Mike is different from Voldemort, who has no love in his heart, only desire and hatred. But Mike still has love for his family and friends in his heart.

A Mike like this will never become the next Voldemort.
