Hogwarts Raven's Claw
Chapter 141 Pendant and Invitation
Chapter 141 Pendant and Invitation
In the Ravenclaw boys' dormitory.
Mike was lying on his back on the bed, staring blankly at the Greed Pendant that he had fixed in mid-air with a levitation spell. Now several days had passed since he destroyed the crown, and he had been studying the Greed Pendant during these days.
It was already mid-December, Christmas was approaching, and the little wizards of Hogwarts once again welcomed their long-awaited Christmas holiday.
This Christmas, Mike still chose to stay in school. His purpose was to study the greed pendant carefully and get familiar with his own strength after his magic control ability increased dramatically.
The latter went very smoothly. After several days of high-intensity training, Mike was thoroughly familiar with his current strength. However, the former did not go very smoothly.
According to Mike's understanding, since this greed pendant has helped him escape from danger time and time again, it should have recognized him.
However, things were obviously not as simple as Mike thought. In the past two days, Mike tried every possible way to trigger the pendant.
Mike even dripped his own blood onto the pendant as per the legend about signing a contract with the mythical beast, but still got nothing.
The cold wind outside the window blew against the glass window, making gusts of wind.
At this moment, Mike's dormitory was as warm as spring under the effect of the warming spell.
Lying on the bed in such a comfortable environment, Mike felt his eyelids getting heavier and heavier, and the greed pendant floating in front of his eyes became more and more blurred.
Finally, Mike fell asleep due to the sudden sleepiness, and the blackthorn wood wand in his hand slipped to the ground.
As the wand fell out of his hand, the levitation spell that fixed the greed pendant in mid-air also lost its magic supply.
"Snapped,"
The Greed Pendant fell into Mike's open mouth with perfect accuracy.
Mike jumped up from the bed instantly. The greed pendant was stuck in his throat. If Mike hadn't reacted quickly, he would have swallowed it.
"Bah! Cough cough cough!"
After spitting the Greed Pendant onto the ground, Mike started coughing violently.
The Greed Pendant is a relic of Ms. Grey and is nearly a thousand years old.
Generally speaking, no one would clean this kind of collected antiques unless there was something wrong. In any case, Mike has never cleaned the pendant since he got it.
Thinking of this, Mike felt nauseous and picked up the cup of water beside him and started rinsing his mouth.
Just as Mike was rinsing his mouth, the pendant he spit onto the ground began to emit a faint blue light.
In this blue light, the raven-shaped pendant continued to twist and grow, and finally turned into a living raven.
The raven's feathers were wet, as if it had just come out of the water. It was staring at Mike's back with anger in its eyes.
"Gah!"
The raven transformed by the pendant let out a strange cry and flew onto Mike's back, and began to flap his head hard with its pair of broad wings.
Mike was startled by the sudden attack. He instinctively summoned his wand to fight back, but he remembered that he had already put away his wand sheath. He had no choice but to use his hands to grab the raven on his back.
However, this raven was very clever. When it saw Mike trying to catch it, it chirped again and turned into a puff of black smoke and floated onto the desk.
Mike, feeling relieved, immediately picked up the wand beside the bed and pointed it at the black smoke on the desk that had turned into a raven. Looking at the familiar look of disdain from the raven, Mike couldn't believe it. He turned his head and glanced at the place where the pendant was before. Seeing that there was nothing there except a water stain, he said in surprise:
"It's you!"
The raven on the desk gave Mike a very human look and ignored him.
At this moment, Mike also realized that this raven was the transformation of the Greed Pendant. He put away his wand, rubbed his hands, and asked with a smile: "Why did you suddenly come out? Do you mean that you recognize me and want to sign a contract with me?"
"Quack, quack, quack!"
Unexpectedly, the raven reacted violently upon hearing this. It stretched its wings and began to scream strangely, as if accusing McDiarrie of a crime.
After saying that, he used his beak to sniff the wet feathers on his wings, and immediately shook his head in disgust, as if his feathers were very smelly.
Mike had no idea what was going on, so he quickly apologized to the raven and even offered food to bribe it.
But no matter how Mike tried to persuade Raven, he just looked like, "I'm angry, I can't be appeased."
Suddenly, there was a sound of a bird's beak hitting the glass window, which startled Mike, and the raven was so scared that it turned back into a pendant.
Mike looked out the window and saw an owl knocking hard on his window with a letter on its legs.
I quickly opened the window, and the owl came into the room with the biting cold wind outside the window.
Mike closed the window again and looked at the wet owl, frowning slightly.
"Keep warm and keep warm."
As the warming spell was released, a cloud of mist suddenly rose from the owl's feathers, and its body, which had been trembling slightly, returned to normal.
Ignoring the owl's grateful look, Mike reached out and took off the letter tied to its leg, and his expression suddenly changed slightly.
Mike bet this letter was definitely the most gorgeous letter he had ever received.
The envelope of the letter was made of some special black paper. It was clearly delivered in the snow and felt very dry and slightly warm. Mike used his magic sense to scan it and did not find any magical aura, which proved that the letter was not cast with any magic. It was covered with delicate patterns painted with gold powder, and there was a big f on the letter stamp.
Mike recognized the symbol; it was the mark of the Foley family.
After opening the envelope and reading the entire letter, Mike's frown finally relaxed.
"Dear Mr. Mike Townley
The Foley family will hold its annual Christmas dinner at the Foley Family Manor on December 1992, 12. You are specially invited to attend. Thank you!
Mario Foley
In addition to this invitation, there was another letter from Abbott in the envelope. Unlike the concise invitation written by Uncle Mario, this letter from Abbott was long-winded, and his general meaning was that Mike didn't need to go to the dinner on his own, and he would come to pick him up in person.
After putting the letter away solemnly, Mike picked up the Greed Pendant and asked softly, "Why did you change back? Come out quickly, we haven't finished discussing our business yet."
However, no matter what Mike did, the Greed Pendant did not change at all, as if the raven that suddenly appeared before did not exist at all.
