Hogwarts Raven's Claw

Chapter 122 Seeded Players

Chapter 122 Seeded Players
In the Charms classroom, Penelope had her eyes closed and her brows furrowed, her wand tightly held in her hand, as if she was brewing something.

Penelope looked much more haggard compared to a few days ago when Mike didn't take them into the Room of Requirement, which was enough to prove how hard Penelope had been training these days.

Suddenly, Penelope opened her eyes, her bloodshot eyes gleaming with excitement. She pointed her wand and shouted, "Expelliarmus!"

A dazzling red light flashed, and the ordinary training dummy in the Charms classroom was smashed away by a huge force.

Penelope was breathing heavily, not satisfied with the power of her disarming spell. Just as she was about to close her eyes and continue, the door of the Charms classroom was pushed open.

"That's enough, Penelope." Mike said softly, "You've done a good job. It's time to take a break."

Penelope was stunned for a moment. The gentle smile on Mike's face immediately touched the softest part of her heart. She choked and said, "But...but I don't think I did well enough. I'm really scared, scared of being attacked by the heir again."

"No way! Your spell power is much stronger than mine now. Being overly modest is just showing off!" Franklin said jokingly, "I strongly suspect you are showing off now, and I have evidence."

Penelope was amused by Franklin's funny words. She wiped her tears and looked at Mike and asked, "Are you serious? Have I really done well enough?"

"Of course. Your progress in the past two days would scare people to death." Mike said exaggeratedly, "You don't have to worry about the heir. I will find him in two days."

"Really?"

“Realer than real gold!”

Penelope hugged Mike and buried her head in Mike's arms, with a happy smile on her face. However, this warm state did not last long, Penelope screamed and pushed Mike away.

"Oh my God! I haven't washed my face today! Don't look at me!" Penelope said angrily, "I have to take a shower right now!"

As she spoke, Penelope covered her face and ran out of the Charms classroom, leaving Mike and Franklin looking at each other and smiling.

Mike felt more and more that a good woman should be like Penelope, beautiful, generous and sensible. Especially in this aspect of sensibility, Hermione could never compare to Penelope.

Mike had a conversation with Hermione a few days ago, but the result was very unpleasant. Hermione seemed to be still angry with Mike, and she ignored Mike even though Mike tried to coax her patiently for a long time. When Mike had no choice but to leave, he found that Hermione stomped hard on the floor when he turned around to leave.

Mike was very familiar with this action. It was Hermione's usual action when she was angry. From this, it could also be seen that Hermione was very angry about his leaving.

But Mike didn't go back to coax her. He wasn't a real brat who spent all his time with the little girl. He could do something else with his time. Why did he have to stay in front of Hermione and cause trouble for himself? A few words solved Penelope's mentality problem. Mike was in a very good mood. He whistled and walked towards Professor Flitwick's office. Mike originally planned to bring Franklin with him because he thought that since Professor Flitwick had cooperated with Lockhart to organize such a duel grand prix, he would definitely give them some preferential treatment.

However, Franklin refused. He thought it was a bit embarrassing to ask Professor Flitwick for help on behalf of Mike. In this respect, he was obviously not as good as Penelope. If it were Penelope, she would probably agree without hesitation.

Mike pushed open the door of the office and walked in. Professor Flitwick in the office seemed to have expected Mike's coming and had already prepared tea for him in advance.

Mike took the tea and was about to thank him, but he didn't expect Professor Flitwick to be even more excited than him and asked directly: "You know about the duel competition, right?"

Mike nodded yes.

"In this competition, each of our four academies has a seeded player who can directly advance to the top eight. I have considered it for a long time, and finally decided to give it to you." Professor Flitwick paused and continued, "Don't think that this is unfair to ordinary students. When you grow up, you will know that the only fairness in this world is death."

Mike knew what Professor Flitwick meant. He was just afraid that he would feel that what they did was unfair and would feel bad about it. In fact, Professor Flitwick was completely overthinking. If Mike was really a 12-year-old middle school boy, he might have such thoughts, but unfortunately, Mike was not.

"Don't worry, Dean. I will win the championship and get the badge."

Seeing that Mike was not as sentimental as he had worried about, Fliwell was delighted. He smiled and picked up two bottles from the coffee table beside him and asked Mike whether he wanted milk or sugar in his tea.

Rejecting Professor Flitwick's enthusiasm, Mike asked, "Dean, why did you agree to become the honorary advisor of the Duelling Club? And even to accompany Lockhart, that liar... uh, that guy, tonight to act?"

Mike originally wanted to call Lockhart a liar, but as soon as he said that, he remembered the contract he signed and quickly changed his words.

"It's nothing, actually. Lockhart got Dumbledore's support first, so I just went with the flow." Professor Flitwick said as he added milk to his cup of tea. "Besides, Lockhart made you the protagonist of his new book, so I'm just repaying him a favor. You're still young, so you don't understand. This kind of debt of favor must be repaid as soon as possible, otherwise it will be troublesome later. You know, free things are the most expensive."

"He's asking for repayment for a favor?" Mike was very angry. He had clearly warned Lockhart not to use his own name to ask Professor Flitwick for help. He didn't expect this guy to be so bold. Did he really think that he could sit back and relax with the contract?
"Well, that's not the case." Flitwick took a sip of black tea and squinted his eyes in enjoyment. "But I can't just pretend nothing happened if he didn't say anything, so when he found me, I agreed."

Mike sighed deeply. He had miscalculated. Lockhart must be very happy now. Although he felt a little annoyed, Mike still felt warm inside.

Professor Flitwick's love for him was far beyond his imagination. In order to repay his favor, he would even take the initiative to hang out with someone like Lockhart. You know, if Lockhart caused the duel club to fail, Professor Flitwick's own reputation would also be greatly damaged.

Thinking of this, Mike no longer dwelled on this matter but started chatting with Professor Flitwick about the interesting things that had happened recently in Hogwarts. Professor Flitwick seemed to enjoy chatting with Mike very much and would laugh out loud at Mike's teasing from time to time.
