Hogwarts Raven's Claw
Chapter 1 Orphan
Chapter 1 Orphan
Late at night on July 1991, 7, London.
In an alley, a blond boy was confronting a large black dog with dull fur.
The boy held a metal stick in his right hand, which must have been taken off some kind of machine. There were burrs on the broken end of the top of the stick.
The boy moved his right foot back and bent his body slightly to fight. Behind him were several huge trash cans, which were filled with high piles of garbage and emitted a foul odor. However, the target of the confrontation between the man and the dog was obviously the pile of garbage.
In the darkness not far away in the alley, two figures were observing the scene.
One of the old men with a long white beard whispered, "Minerva, do you think he can scare the dog away?"
"We can't just watch that kid fight that dog, he'll get hurt! Professor!" The tall woman at the side seemed very dissatisfied. She pursed her lips tightly, and the wrinkles on her face trembled as her mouth opened and closed. As she spoke, she drew out her wand and pretended to move forward.
The old man with white beard stretched out his hand to stop her and said, "Wait."
At the same time, in the alley.
The big black dog seemed unable to contain its hunger, and it pounced on the boy with its big mouth full of sharp teeth and saliva.
On the other side, the boy stared at the black shadow that was rushing towards him, and suddenly bent his body to the right to avoid the big black dog's attack. At the same time, he swung the short stick in his hand. The initial speed of the short stick was not fast, but it suddenly accelerated in the middle, turning into an afterimage and smashing towards the big black dog.
The big black dog fell to the ground whimpering, but quickly got up again, with its tail tucked tightly between its legs. It turned around and limped out of the alley. The stick had just hit it and broke its right front leg.
"It seems that our little Mike won." The old man with white beard narrowed his eyes and smiled.
And in the alley, Mike didn't seem to intend to let go of the big black dog that was trying to snatch food from him.
Mike took a few steps and quickly approached the big black dog, holding the short stick high in his right hand and hitting the big black dog's waist.
The big black dog's right front leg was injured, so its movement speed was greatly reduced. In addition, its back was facing Mike, so it could only limp forward.
With a "poof!" sound, the big black dog fell to the ground again.
Mike had already sat on the big black dog and smashed the dog's head with the short stick in his hand.
After an unknown amount of time, Mike stopped moving, panting heavily. The big black dog under him had already died. The dog's head was bloody and there was a small pool of blood slowly expanding under its body.
After calming his breathing, Mike stood up, holding a short stick in one hand and dragging the big black dog with the other, and walked towards the darkness outside the alley, without even looking at the trash can they had just fought over.
Not far away, the two people watching the fight looked at each other in silence. What happened in those few short minutes was really beyond their expectations.
These two people are Albus Dumbledore and Minerva McGonagall, the Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the Head of Hogwarts Gryffindor House, as well as Professor of Transfiguration.
Originally, they thought that Mike, a boy less than 11 years old, would try to scare away or fight off a vicious dog as tall as his waist. However, they never expected that Mike actually chose to kill the big black dog and seemed to be ready to make it his dinner.
Professor McGonagall turned her head stiffly and looked at Dumbledore, "After all, he is an orphan who has been wandering for five years. If you were too soft-hearted, he might have died long ago. He is still a child, Dumbledore." There was a persuasive tone in Professor McGonagall's voice. She knew Dumbledore too well. What McGonagall did would undoubtedly cause Dumbledore's dissatisfaction.
"Don't worry, Minerva. I can see that the child is not a bad person by nature. Besides, aren't there teachers like us?" Dumbledore did not turn around and continued to look at the darkness where Mike disappeared.
Mike obviously didn't notice that two wizards had just witnessed what he did. He was humming a little tune while walking on the empty road. Mike was out looking for food this time. His original goal was the trash cans in his territory. These European and American countries may have excess resources, and the residents have the habit of wasting food. Thanks to this bad habit, Mike always gets something every day.
Mike's luck was obviously good this time, a big black dog showed up and served as Mike's dinner. With better options, Mike would naturally not go through those smelly trash cans again. Even though he was a homeless orphan and had no right to dislike dirt, it was better to be clean. Being too sloppy would make people sick easily.
Yes, Mike is an orphan. In theory, he should stay in an orphanage, but Mike knows that not every orphanage is as good as they say. In fact, many orphanages are engaged in disguised human trafficking.
Their clients are all kinds of people, even couples with serious criminal records and no marriage certificate can successfully adopt children. It stands to reason that most of them do not meet the adoption conditions, especially in the UK where the adoption conditions are extremely strict.
But as the saying goes, money makes the world go round.
As long as you pay, those cumbersome and strict restrictions will open a window for you, and the size of the window depends on how much you pay.
Mike has never been to any of these orphanages, but he knows all about them. Everything in this world requires money, and you can't get into a good orphanage without money.
For an older street wandering orphan like Mike, no matter how long you have been wandering, even if you have only been wandering for one day, your "price will plummet".
Now only the free welfare orphanage built by the government is willing to take Mike in, and this is only possible after he was caught by the so-called "social welfare department" but actually the "urban appearance and municipal department" and went through formal procedures.
But these orphanages, well, what can I say.
In the words of the city's municipal administration department, "You street thieves deserve to rot in an orphanage like this."
Mike couldn't bear to recall the treatment of the orphans in these orphanages. What was most despairing was that no one would be willing to adopt the children in these orphanages. Even if there was, they would definitely not be kind enough to do so. After all, everyone in London knew what kind of children were held in these orphanages.
So in order to avoid being caught by the "hyenas" and thrown into an orphanage, Mike had to stay away from the city and build a shed in a forest in the suburbs. And our Mike named this shed he built by himself "Garbage House", which is a very appropriate name, because this house is indeed built with garbage.
At this time, our Mike was lying on a tattered mattress in the garbage house, full of food and drink, his eyes fixed on the wind chimes on the ceiling.
After staring at it for about 20 minutes, the wind chimes suddenly swayed in the windless state, making crisp tinkling sounds.
Looking at the wind chimes, a bright smile broke out on Mike's little face. This was the first time in half a year that he took the initiative to use his ability to make the wind chimes move.
Mike thinks he has super powers, and supernatural phenomena will appear around him whenever he gets emotional, sometimes the glass in his hand will suddenly break, sometimes a fire will suddenly ignite around him.
The severity of these supernatural phenomena depends entirely on the intensity of his emotions and is completely uncontrollable. This is why Mike moved to the woods. If such supernatural phenomena frequently appeared in front of people, he would definitely be investigated, and then he might be sliced and studied.
Since Mike discovered that his ability was related to his mood swings, he began to learn to control his emotions. Because he found that if he mastered his emotions, he could control his abilities to a certain extent and use them as he wished.
Obviously, the efforts over the past six months have not been in vain.
He had successfully activated that ability when fighting with the big black dog just now. At that time, all he was thinking about was beating the dog to death, so his short stick seemed to be endowed with some magic, and its speed and strength became extremely great.
"In this way, the next step of the plan can be carried out."
The boy's eyes sparkled in the darkness, and soon a slight snoring sound was heard from the hut. Actively activating his abilities twice in a row tonight was too tiring for the thin boy.
