Chapter 549: Kidney Deficiency Mage

Chapter 549: Kidney Deficiency Mage (asking for monthly ticket)

Strange had a nightmare in which he drove his car off a cliff and was rushed to the hospital with permanent nerve damage in his hands.

The rescue operation lasted 11 hours, and steel nails were driven into every bone in his hand. He underwent seven treatment surgeries in total, but his hands were still not healed.

He lost his hands, which he was most proud of, and it seemed as if he fell into a dark abyss...

When he suddenly woke up, he found himself lying on the bed with his hands covered with scars. Although the wounds had healed, his hands were still shaking and he couldn't clench them.

"No!"

Strange couldn't believe this was true. Several months had passed since the car accident. His once handsome face had become much more haggard these days, and he even had some white hair on his head.

In order to find a way to cure himself, Strange has been working tirelessly, no matter the cost. He has spent a lot of money on new treatment surgeries and has been going in and out of the operating room again and again.

But his hand never got better, and he underwent rehabilitation treatment after the operation, but no matter how hard he tried, his nerves were too badly damaged. Now he can't shave on his own, and even writing his own name with a pen has become difficult for him.

He found his former friends in the medical field. When he first attracted worldwide attention for Barnes' surgery, people came to flatter him and wanted to get close to him. But when he got into a car accident, those friends all stayed away from him.

This is the terrible human nature. Some people are jealous of his talent and gift, some people are dissatisfied with his arrogance, and some people resent him. It all started from this car accident. Strange fell from a favored child to a poor and destitute man.

Why do you say he is poor?

Because he had spent almost all his savings trying to treat his hands, he had undergone various expensive operations with little chance of success.

His previous living habit was to spend whatever he earned, so he didn't save much money, so he had to sell the steel and watches. If he continued like this, he would probably have to sell his house as well.

Strange took out the last bottle of red wine and poured himself a full glass. He stood on the floor-to-ceiling window, looked out the window, took a sip of wine, and felt particularly bitter in his heart.

He had just had an argument with Palmer, and vented all his grievances and anger over the years on him. He felt really terrible about himself, and he couldn't believe that he would never be able to be a doctor and perform surgery on others again.

How he wished time could go back. If it were that rainy night, he would never play with his phone while driving!
"Ding dong!"

Just then, the doorbell suddenly rang. Strange thought it was Palmer who came back, but he didn't expect that there was someone else standing outside the door.

"Oh, it's you." Strange said with a disappointed expression.

"Long time no see, Dr. Strange." William said with a smile.

He knew about the car accident not long after Strange's accident, but he had no time to care about it because he had been fully devoted to the Wallfacer Project until Athena's voice suddenly sounded a few days ago.

"The main mission begins!"

“Main Quest: Doctor Strange: Mission 1: Go to the legendary holy land of Kamar-Taj”

It seems that Doctor Strange's main mission has begun, but soon William heard of another mission.

"Special conditions triggered, hidden mission begins!"

"Hidden Mission: Kidney Deficiency Mage (1/6): Let Stephen Strange become the mage of the Sanctuary of the Supreme Being"

You know, superheroes all have their own special missions, such as Iron Man's "The Scapegoat" and the Hulk's "Spokesperson for Stretch Pants", etc. When he heard about Doctor Strange's special mission, he couldn't help but be stunned.

"Master of Kidney Deficiency?" William thought about it carefully and it seemed that there was nothing wrong with what he said.

Stephen Strange was originally a doctor, but later he felt that studying medicine could not save the world, so he decided to give up medicine and become a wizard. (Of course, in fact, he was just trying to find a way to heal his hands, but he didn't expect to get on a pirate ship. Haha.)
Doctor Strange, one of the members of the Avengers, can be said to be the most powerful magician in the Marvel world, no less powerful than the mysterious Ancient One.

He has understood the mysteries of magic, possesses the Cloak of Float and the Eye of Agamotto, and protects the world from invasion by other dimensions.

Although Doctor Strange is so glorious, he has a nickname that is very distracting - the Master of Kidney Deficiency!
This kidney-deficiency wizard is not a figment of the imagination. In Marvel's animations and comics, in order to limit Doctor Strange's abilities, he often starts panting after casting spells, which is the so-called mana recovery, and it takes a long time to recover.

Even in the movies, Doctor Strange is much weaker. Even though he masters powerful magic, his body is still made of flesh and blood of an ordinary person and can be easily injured.

Who could have thought that a supreme wizard would eventually suffer from kidney deficiency? Tsk tsk.

"Don't call me doctor anymore." Strange said dejectedly, "I'm afraid I can never be a doctor again."

William looked around and found that Strange was in an even worse condition than he had imagined. His house had been basically emptied out, with only a few chairs and a cabinet full of trophies and certificates left.

In fact, if those trophies were sold, they could fetch a lot of money. But that was Strange's last bit of self-esteem, and he didn't want to buy it anyway. Even though he was in such a state, he was still very proud in his heart.

"Are you here to watch me have fun too?" Strange said with cold eyes. He has become accustomed to the fickleness of human nature and the cruelty of the world over the past few days.

"No, I'm here to help you." William originally wanted to find a sofa to sit on, but found that there was no sofa, so he had to sit on a chair.

"Help me?" Strange's eyes lit up when he heard William's words. "Do you Avengers have any technology that can repair nerves?"

"To be honest, there used to be something called the Cradle of Life. It is one of the most powerful medical devices today. It can quickly regenerate lost tissues and cells, and can even create completely new cell tissues."

"I know that thing!" Strange said excitedly, "Can you let me use that machine? I'm willing to pay any amount!"

William took a look at Strange's homeless appearance and thought that even if he went out to beg for food, people would believe him. He said, "It's a pity that there is only one Cradle of Life, and it was destroyed in Age of Ultron!"

"Damn it!" Strange stomped his foot hard, "Is my life really over like this?"

"Don't be discouraged. I'm here to help you today." William said. He took out a file bag from his briefcase. "We checked the medical records of hospitals all over the world and found a person who suffered a work-related injury, a back injury, paralysis, and one leg was completely disabled. He can only use a wheelchair. It seems that the person only did three weeks of rehabilitation training and was completely cured."

"Impossible." Strange looked incredulous. He opened the file bag, which contained the information of the patient Jonathan Pangborn:

"The C7 and C8 sections of the spinal cord are completely damaged. He is paralyzed below the chest and his hands are also paralyzed. How can he recover? This is simply a dream!"

"We also find it unbelievable, but it really happened. And some people even saw him playing basketball on the court," William said, spreading his hands.

"Where is this person? I'm going to find him and ask him face to face!" Strange stood up and said, his expression excited. He knew that if this was true, no matter what happened, this would be the key to healing his hands!

"We have spoken to him and his comments were very confusing, but he did mention a place name repeatedly."

"what?"

"Kama Taj."

"Kama-Taj?" Strange had never heard of this place. "Where is it?"

"Dr. Strange." William stared at the other person's eyes, a smile appeared on the corner of his mouth and he said, "Have you been to Nepal?"
