Chapter 633, First Formal Lightness Skill: Cloud Robe Crossing the Void
Chapter 633 The First Formal Lightness Skill, Cloud Robe Crossing the Void
The names used by Yaro to categorize martial arts levels don't actually reflect the characteristics of those levels. If we were to use characteristics to differentiate these acquired realms, they should be called:
Nourishing Qi, clearing the meridians, the microcosmic orbit, and the macrocosmic orbit.
But these names are far less memorable than those of mediocre, third-rate, second-rate, and first-rate masters.
More importantly, the terms "second-rate master" and "formal knight" also implicitly carry connotations of social status.
After all, the literal meaning of these names already indicates the level of strength of this martial artist in the mortal world.
Just like a top-notch martial arts master, as long as they master the corresponding martial arts moves, their combat strength can basically be on par with... or even superior to that of a formal knight!
That's right!
You don't need to reach the Innate Realm; as long as you're a top-tier expert, a martial artist's combat strength can rival that of a formal knight!
After all, while formal knights do have knightly techniques, the design of these techniques is so primitive that only one knightly technique can be used at a time.
The meridians and acupoints in the bodies of top-tier masters are based on internal energy cultivation, and every move and movement can be described as a knight's secret technique.
Theoretically speaking, top-tier fighters may still not be as physically capable as regular knights, but their combat strength has already surpassed them.
Of course, the foundation of everything still lies in martial arts, all kinds of martial arts, a wide variety of martial arts.
Therefore, after hearing that Bevan had opened his dantian, Yaro prepared to formally teach him a martial art.
And this martial art is none other than lightness skill!
"Master, you designed the internal energy cultivation method for lightness skill so quickly? Master, you are amazing!"
Bevin was overjoyed.
He hadn't forgotten that when he was teaching those girls martial arts at Mingming Moon Palace, his master hadn't yet designed the internal energy for lightness skills.
Compared to the Heavenly Heart Technique, Yaro didn't think his simplified "Dragon Soaring Body Technique" was that valuable, but seeing Bevin's jubilant expression, a smile involuntarily crept onto his face.
"The day you became my apprentice, when I caught the wild goose, I already had a general idea of what to do. These past few days, I've basically perfected it. Take a look."
As Yaro spoke casually, he took out a new manual from his spatial ring.
Bevan took the book and saw four large characters written on it.
"Cloud Robe Crossing the Void?"
"Yes, that's the name of qinggong (lightness skill), and also its greatest characteristic."
Yaro nodded slightly and explained:
"This manual on light-body skills is inspired by the rise and fall of wild geese, and also incorporates my insights into riding the wind while using a glider. However, due to the weight of the human body, it can only achieve short-distance gliding at most, or reduce a certain amount of weight to increase movement speed."
I designed three levels for this book on light-body skills.
The first layer involves wearing clothing made of special materials and structures (such as silk and metal wires), relying entirely on the clothing's effect to isolate the air. The principle is similar to the combination of the 'keel' and 'mask' of a kite, and it is mainly used to familiarize oneself with the moves.
The second layer involves internal energy being channeled into the clothing through specific meridians, creating a dense air film on the surface. The stronger the internal energy, the larger the unfolded area of the clothing, and it can also generate lift with the help of wind.
This layer also requires clothing with a specific structure, preferably made of materials with strong internal force conduction properties.
The third level relies entirely on internal energy to fly.
This level requires extremely high internal energy cultivation, and even the ability to flexibly control one's internal energy to construct a specific structure. It's very difficult, and may truly only exist in theory. However, it doesn't have many requirements regarding the structure or materials of the clothing.
Yaro's original idea for lightness skill was to mix life force with wind magic to generate a wind-attribute internal force, and then imitate and use wizard tricks, using wizard tricks as the power source to directly use the "Dragon Soaring Body Technique".
But after reading Anabe's manuscript, they found it wouldn't work.
The combination of life force and magic is too difficult. Unless one has specially cultivated wind-type internal energy, it is basically impossible to master this imagined lightness skill.
Therefore, Yaro had to change his plan and instead consider a purely material structure-based light-body kung fu model. For example, he could release his inner energy, using the principle of the Vajra Finger to split stone, to isolate the air and create a pair of wings that could not be flapped, thus assisting the body in gliding.
Finally, referencing (and copying) the details of wind manipulation in "The Dragon's Body Technique," and adding a few of my own experiences with gliders and the wind changes when geese take off, I finally compiled this book, "Crossing the Void in Cloud Robes."
To use this light-body skill, one must wear a robe with wide sleeves.
In response, Yaro also drew a picture of the ancient costume from his memory and named it Yuyi.
This book on lightness skill is nothing short of a Frankenstein's monster.
"The Soaring Dragon Body Technique" uses the skin of wind manipulation, the bones of a physical model, and is supplemented with a small amount of experience gained by Yaro himself.
In terms of the result, it's a bit like surfing with the wind as the wave.
The three levels designed by Yarrow are surfboards made of different materials.
For this reason, although this martial art is called a lightness skill, the meridians and acupoints that need to be opened are not in the legs, but in the hands, but not the palms, but the arms.
Of course, to achieve speed and agility, strong legs are also essential.
Surfing also requires sufficient initial velocity, and riding the wind requires even higher initial velocity.
Just like flying a kite, without wind, you can only get enough lift by running fast.
The faster it runs, the stronger the lift.
The greater the lift, the lighter the weight.
The lighter you are, the faster you can run.
—This is light-footed skill!
It's not a hen flapping its wings and running away!
Thus, Bevin's training plan was finalized.
The first step is to train the legs externally.
It is divided into basic strength training (supporting gliding stability), explosive power training (achieving instantaneous takeoff), endurance enhancement (extending gliding time), and headwind resistance training (enhancing center of gravity stability).
The second is internal strength, which is the opening up of meridians and acupoints.
There are actually two floors here.
The first level is dedicated to developing the acupoints and meridians in the arms needed for light-body skills.
The second layer, however, opens up the meridians in the legs, mainly to nourish the legs.
The meridians and acupoints here are all within the scope of the "Mending the Heavens Technique" and belong to the subordinate martial arts of the "Mending the Heavens Technique".
If Bevin truly mastered this lightness skill to perfection, then he would have mastered more than just a lightness skill.
The qi in the arms can isolate the air, and can also be released to injure the enemy... Even if it cannot be fully released, it can enhance the long sleeves, making them impervious to swords and blades, and allowing one to use the power within the sleeves.
Similarly, their leg strength is by no means weak, but they may need to specifically practice a set of techniques that can fully utilize their leg power.
These are things Beven will need to figure out on his own, or ask experienced demon hunters to learn their combat techniques.
All Yaro could do was help design training programs for external martial arts.
Examples include squats, frog jumps, box jumps, and weighted mountain climbing.
It was then combined into digging a pit and jumping into a pit.
Then... a well was dug.
