As he spoke, a little green, viscous liquid even secreted from the edge of his constantly flicking forked tongue. The liquid was diluted by the Linhe River water and flowed downstream.

Downstream, unseen by anyone, the piranhas, which were just about to rush up and tear apart a wild animal that had accidentally fallen into the river, suddenly turned belly up without warning, leaving the surface of the water covered with a dense mass of fish carcasses.

The beast, which was about to face its death, paused for a moment, then let out a joyful neigh and struggled to get ashore on the lower edge with all four hooves pawing at it.

It shook off its wet fur, and then, quite proudly, let out a triumphant howl at the piranha carcass that had long since drifted away in the river. With bouncy little steps, it ran off into the distance.

At this moment, the leader of the giant pythons, who were complaining to each other and exchanging information, suddenly raised his huge snake head, and his cold vertical pupils swept around his tribesmen. Several giant pythons held their breath instantly upon seeing this.

After the lead python raised its head for a moment, it extended its tongue, conveying a message to the other members of its tribe.

“A very weak aura is approaching the river. Judging from the aura emanating from it, this weak magical power should not even belong to a wizard.”
