Chapter 504 Stinky Swamp
"Not only can it connect to the internet, but it also has an unlimited power supply."

Upon hearing this, Wu Yue's two little suns shone even brighter: "Such a high-end configuration!"

The system sneered: "Host, you're dreaming! Look back, maybe you'll draw a piece of firewood."

Looking at the piece of firewood on the first page that was only as thick as her own arm, Wu Yue's face instantly fell: "Isn't this difference a bit too big?"

Tongzi muttered to himself, "This mission is all about the thrill!"

Seeing those mediocre products can be quite unpleasant and affect one's mood.

Wu Yue waved her hand dismissively: "Okay, I got it. I'll try my best to court death at this gathering."

Having received some spare points and popsicles, Tongzi logged off with great satisfaction.

Wu Yue wrinkled her little face and fell onto her bed: "It's not easy to take advantage of the cunning system. I should improve my strength first."

She sat up straight, crossed her legs on the bed, and began her meditation. Feeling the wisps of magical energy drifting around her, Wu Yue smiled with satisfaction. As her strength increased, the speed at which she absorbed magical energy also increased.

The group ate breakfast early the next morning and then set off.

On the way to the meeting place, everyone hurried along, because according to Bren and Eaglefly, they were already behind the other tribes.

Wu Yue sat on Ta Yun's back, and the ferocious aura of the top-level beast made the surrounding wild animals dare not come forward to extend their claws.

"Lord Wuyue, ahead is a stinking swamp, filled with large fish with sharp teeth. They are very agile in the swamp and can even hide there to attack us. We need to go around it through the woods next to the swamp."

Bren pointed very carefully to a swamp in front of him that was almost invisible if you didn't look closely.

This stinking swamp truly lived up to its name; a pungent stench emanated from it in waves, causing her nose to sting slightly.

"You can't smell this stinking swamp for too long, or you'll lose your sense of smell, especially the orc warriors."

Tongzi's voice suddenly rang in her mind. Upon hearing this, Wu Yue's expression changed drastically. She quickly reached into the basket on her back, but actually took out several cloths that she had brought from the Snow Tiger Tribe from the system space. She then threw them at Yuan Lang and Teng Qian: "Wet them with water and cover your mouth and nose. Get out of the stinking swamp immediately."

After saying that, she patted the back of the giant beast beneath her with her fair little hand.

Ta Yun's keen sense of smell had long been unable to bear the stench here. Upon receiving a signal from its master, it immediately turned and flew away.

Eagle Fly and Brun exchanged a glance, puzzled, but followed them out of the stinking swamp.

"Host, do you see that herb that only has one leaf?"

Upon hearing this, Wu Yue looked down and indeed saw scattered green herbs, resembling steel needles, growing upright on the small plots of land surrounded by mud.

"Is that an herb that can treat the smelt poison?"

Tongzi nodded: "Crossing the stinking swamp is the shortest route to the gathering. If you follow the route Bren suggested, you won't get any of the good stuff."

Wu Yue's face darkened slightly: "They're scheming to make sure we get nothing in return."

"Ta Yun, when we pass by those lands later, let's go over some of them and collect some antidote herbs."

In response to Wu Yue, the giant beast let out a deep roar, and then its enormous body swooped down.

With a swipe of its claws, chunks of black soil emitting a pungent stench were snatched up.

After flying out of the stinking swamp, the group finally stopped in an open area.

Somewhat bewildered, Bren pulled himself away from Yingfei's claws and staggered to Wu Yue and the others, his legs a little weak. Yingfei followed, but his expression was not good.

"Lord Wuyue, why did we come back? We could have just taken a detour."

Yingfei asked with some doubt.

Wu Yue glanced at him, then took a piece of yellow root from her basket and handed it to him: "Smell this, what does it smell like?"

Although Yingfei didn't know what Wuyue meant, he didn't think that this witch would harm him, so he stepped forward and took it.

He twitched his nose a few times as soon as he received the yellow root, but couldn't smell anything.

"It doesn't have much of a taste."

He trusted his sense of smell; powerful orc warriors didn't need to bring objects to their noses to smell them.

Upon hearing this, Bren also stepped forward with great curiosity: "Let me see."

Yingfei turned around and handed the root in his hand to Bren, who then examined it with a puzzled look: "This thing really doesn't have much of a smell. It's amazing how our sense of smell can detect even the faintest scent of a plant."

Having said that, he stubbornly brought the yellow root to his nose. Instantly, a faint stench spread out, and Bren immediately moved his hand away: "This thing smells faintly bad when you smell it up close."

At this moment, Wu Yue and the others had covered their noses with cloths again, but their eyes were not on Bren and Ying Fei. Instead, they looked at the people behind them with pity.

Seeing this, Yingfei and Bren turned around in confusion.
"What's wrong with you all?"

Behind them, the pure-blooded males were all leaning against nearby trees, retching incessantly. Their bodies were swaying, but they couldn't stop, looking extremely uncomfortable.

"Captain! Captain, ugh! That stuff in your hands... it smells awful!"

Bren and Eagle Fly stared at the yellow root with their faces turning deathly pale. Only then did they realize that something was wrong.

The scent of fresh forest grass and moist air that always filled my nostrils had vanished.
"We can't smell anymore! We've lost our sense of smell!"

Yingfei collapsed to the ground in a state of near collapse, constantly grabbing handfuls of soil and leaves and bringing them to his nose, not caring at all even when dirt got on his usually very clean face.

At this moment, all he wanted was to regain his sense of smell. For an orc warrior, only they themselves knew how terrible it was to lose their sense of smell.

When hunting and living, the sense of smell is more important than one's eyes.

Bren's hands trembled, and the yellow root fell to the ground.

He kept bringing his hand, which had held the yellow root, to his nose, but all he could smell was a faint stench.

"I really... I really have no sense of smell anymore."

Suddenly, the scene of Lord Wuyue telling everyone to cover their mouths and noses and back away flashed through his chaotic mind, and a hopeful light appeared in his red eyes.

He rushed forward with somewhat flustered steps and knelt down in front of Wu Yue with a thud. Even though he had a sliver of hope, his voice still trembled with unease: "Lord Wu Yue, please save us. Ying Fei and I are willing to offer you the precious herbs we obtained from the Wuke tribe."

Wu Yue raised her crescent-shaped eyebrows slightly. She had just given Ying Fei the yellow root to make them realize how dangerous that stinking swamp was.

Furthermore, she would need their guidance for the rest of the journey, so she didn't intend to ask for any gifts in return for treating their sense of smell.

But now that these precious herbs have been delivered to us, how could we refuse them? Wu Yue smiled and said, "Of course, but..."

Her gaze fell on Yingfei, whose face was covered in mud, behind Bren: "I wonder if Yingfei would be willing too?"

"I am willing."

Yingfei didn't hesitate at all. Compared to his sense of smell, the herbs were nothing to him.

After saying that, he took out a leather package from his pocket, inside which were herbs wrapped in leaves.

Teng Qian stepped forward to take it, and also took Bren's herbs.

"You have lost your sense of smell because of the foul smell in that stinking swamp; that smell is poisonous."

As she spoke, she took out items and herbs from the basket on her back: "Yuan Lang, help me start a fire."

A beautifully designed jar adorned with mysterious patterns was placed on a makeshift stove. It was pottery made by the people of the Snow Tiger Tribe, and the patterns on it were some words written by Wu Yue herself. But to the people here, it was unfamiliar and mysterious.

One by one, the herbs were thrown into the earthenware pot. After boiling for a while, Wu Yue's fair little hand was placed on top of the pot, and a trace of visible witch power dissolved into the herbal water.

The herbal water, which originally had a bitter taste, now exudes a faint, refreshing fragrance.

Wu Yue took out a spoon and scooped out two bowls, handing them to Teng Qian and Yuan Lang: "You two should drink some too."

Without the slightest hesitation, the two took the stone bowls and poured the contents down their throats.

In an instant, the smell of the stinking swamp began to return, faintly wafting back into existence. The orc warriors, whose sense of smell had returned, could still detect a faint, pungent odor even from this distance.

Seeing this, Yingfei and Bren did not hesitate any longer and stepped forward to drink the rest of the witch potion.

After a few breaths, their sense of smell began to slowly return.

"Finally! I can smell things again!"

Bren was as happy as a 200-pound fool, running and jumping around in the forest several times before finally being ruthlessly suppressed by Teng Qian and quieted down.

After this terrible experience, no one dared to underestimate the stinking swamp anymore.

"The stinking swamp smells so bad that very few people come here. Even if they are going to a gathering, they will leave early and take a detour to avoid passing through here."

We're a bit pressed for time, which is why I thought we'd take the closer route.

Bren sat there listlessly and said.

"Everyone, get a good rest today. Tomorrow we'll fly over the stinking swamp."

Wu Yue spoke directly.

These words stunned the Dongsang tribe. They knew that the stench of the swamp would make people lose their sense of smell, yet they still walked through it. Were they out of their minds?

They all looked at Wu Yue with pleading eyes.

Wu Yue smiled and looked at them: "Before we set off, I will give you herbal medicine packets. When you cross the stinky swamp, put the herbal medicine packets under your noses so you won't lose your sense of smell."

Wu Yue had just treated Ying Fei and Bu Lun, and the people of the Dong Sang tribe trusted her immensely, immediately putting their minds at ease.

“I can bring four pure human males. Yingfei and Yingyan, you two take the rest of the people. We’ll fly over directly from the sky.”

Humans cannot fly, and it is very dangerous to travel through the swamp. Even if they were not worried about the poisonous gas in the swamp, they would still be eaten by the wild beasts inside.

"Based on this calculation, we'll need to fly twice to get everyone over there."

After discussing their strategy, the tribespeople who were on patrol stayed behind, while the rest of the tribespeople found places to lie down and rest.

The night was peaceful, and the wild beasts from the stinking swamp that Bren had described did not come out to eat people.

During the transport of her people, Wu Yue also saw the beast lurking in the swamp. Its body was as long as a lying orc, with a huge head and cold yellow eyes. It also had the power to crack a large tree on the shore with just a slight shake.

All of this made Wu Yue take them seriously; apart from their size, they were practically identical to crocodiles.

However, she seemed to have only ever seen such a large crocodile when looking at primitive animal atlases, and even then, the dimensions were always labeled.

If this guy takes one bite, half of them will be finished.

"See that guy in the middle? When he raised his head just now, I thought I was going to be swallowed up."

"The others aren't small either, especially their mouths. They can easily eat us, one bite at a time."

The pure-blooded males who had crossed the stinking swamp climbed up tall trees, looked down into the swamp, and discussed the size of the crocodiles.

The remaining two males from the Dongsang tribe were brought over by Yingfei himself.

Looking at the crocodiles in the swamp, Wu Yue secretly wondered how many points she could get if she caught a baby crocodile and sold it to the system.

"Let's not think about these things anymore. Let's talk about it when you've actually caught it!"

According to Brun, there were no more dangerous places like the stinking swamp ahead, and because they had crossed it, they were now ahead in speed.

Upon hearing this, everyone stopped focusing solely on their journey as before.

They would also pick and taste any fruits and wild herbs they encountered that they had never seen before. Wu Yue even found many herbs that she had only seen in the quest reward book.

Having arrived at this point, even Bren and Yingfei were unsure which tribe's territory they had entered. Wu Yue showed no courtesy whatsoever and took everything for herself.

"Tongzi, keep 50 of each kind of herb. I'm going to go back and plant them in the yard."

Some of these herbs were precious, while others were common, but because there were so many of them, she made quite a bit of money.

They continued gathering and traveling, and when they arrived at the meeting place, several tribes had already gathered there.

The meeting place was set up on a huge open space against the mountainside, with a river flowing in front of it, making for a very pleasant environment.

"what?"

Wu Yue turned to look at Bren: "Are all those caves owned?"

Bren paused for a moment, then shook his head and said, "No, but many tribes will come to the gathering. Only the strongest tribes can live in the caves. If a weak tribe moves in, it will be driven out by the stronger tribes."
