Chapter 144 is quite cheeky.

It's unclear how Yuan Lang and Teng Kun dug it, but the pit was as deep as two monkeys.

The injured ape kept letting out angry roars that echoed through the mountains and forests.

The orcs roared and celebrated.

Yuan Lang raised his hand to interrupt the beastmen's revelry: "Quickly deal with this thing and see if it has any crystal cores. We need to leave here as soon as possible. If we attract a large number of Shunyuan, we'll be in trouble."

The beastmen nodded, and looking at Shun Yuan, who was trapped in the deep pit and covered in wounds, they all revealed a ferocious smile: "You dared to try to take advantage of us? Go to hell."

Even the mighty Shun Yuan couldn't withstand the beastmen's clutches for long; a moment later, it howled and died.

Teng Qian laughed heartily and jumped into the deep pit: "Leave the task of finding the crystal core to me."

The young beastmen nervously formed a circle around the pit, watching as Teng Qian struggled to turn Shun Yuan's body over, his sharp claws piercing its chest. After searching for a moment, he stiffly raised his head.

Seeing his reaction, the orcs were all disappointed.

“It’s alright. How can you get a crystal core in just one or two tries? I heard my father and the others say that they had to hunt many ferocious beasts to get the crystal core.”

“That’s right, we haven’t hunted many yet. Once we go back and rest, we can fight again.”

Seeing the beastmen encouraging each other, Wu Yue smiled.

"Ah, hahaha!"

Suddenly, an unusually arrogant laugh came from the deep pit, and everyone looked at Teng Qian in the pit with bewildered expressions.

All that could be seen was this guy's right hand, stained red with blood, holding up a white crystal.
