Chapter 798
“These are house-elves,” Tiera explained with a smile. “They are a vassal race of us wizards. Wizards, centaurs, house-elves, and the less common vampires and werewolves together constitute the wizarding society hidden beneath human society.”
“Once you officially join the company, we will open our wizarding library to you, and you can freely consult this history,” Tiera said. “House-elves are completely harmless. Although they look very different from humans, their lifestyle, language, and culture are highly similar to those of wizards. They are very skilled in cooking magic and cleaning magic, so for a long period of history, they existed as a servant race of wizards.”
“Alright, now please order,” Tierra said. “We can talk about the future later. Now, please fill your tired stomach with the local specialties.”
Professor Frolov glanced at the house-elves a few more times before reluctantly opening the menu. In this new environment, Professor Frolov wasn't really in the mood for food, so he ordered a set meal featuring fresh lobster, which included a local seafood soup.
Then the house-elves handed the menu to Mitchell McGonagall and Jeffrey Rocky, and finally to Tyella.
Mitchell McGann ordered seafood pasta and a vegetable salad, while Jeffrey Rocky ordered fish cakes and buttered seafood fried rice.
When the menu was handed to Tierra, she didn't even look at it and said directly, "Squid fried rice, clam chowder."
“Yes, Mr. Tierra,” the house-elf said respectfully, then slowly backed away with the menu, disappearing behind the iron door of the kitchen.
After ordering, the restaurant fell silent.
“Mr. Tierra,” Professor Frolov was the first to speak, breaking the subtle and somewhat awkward silence. “You look very young.”
Professor Frolov was still very curious about Tierra—how could a child who looked no more than a high school student become the leader of two adults?
Admittedly, Tiera seems to possess some kind of magical power, but his experience and knowledge do not seem sufficient to support a scientific expedition team.
“I’m sixteen years old,” Tierra said.
“Sixteen years old? That’s quite young and promising,” Professor Frolov said.
"I've heard that the rules and principles of this world come in a certain order, and the arts and specialties we've learned have also diverged," Tiera said with a smile. "I can't compare to them in geology, but when it comes to understanding these strange races and how to deal with them..."
“Of course, wizards are a race imbued with great power,” Tiera said with a smile. “I will serve as your last line of defense, in case your expedition encounters irreparable danger.”
Tiera didn't finish her sentence.
“I understand.” Professor Frolov nodded gently. Although Tierra’s words were as good as nothing, as a mature scientific researcher, Professor Frolov was able to extract meaningful information from Tierra’s meaningless words.
At the same time, Professor Frolov gradually understood why Tyella had shown him all sorts of magical tricks as soon as they met.
