Chapter 119 Misty Town

Yang Nianqing thought for a moment and helped Mo Mo turn off the stove. "Why don't you use an induction cooker?" Although the heat of an electric stove is not easy to control and the dishes made with it are not as delicious as those made with a gas stove, it's already quite good for a beginner to be able to make them at all.

Mo Mo nodded. She couldn't even handle the fire-starting, so Yang Nianqing helped her transfer the pot to the induction cooker, demonstrated it to her, and then returned it to her.

Mo Mo took the spatula and hurriedly added the side dishes and main ingredients as Yang Nianqing instructed, keeping her hands far away for fear of the oil splattering. While stir-frying, a drop of oil splashed onto her hand, causing Mo Mo's hand to tremble and accidentally lift half of the vegetables out of the pan. Mo Mo coughed awkwardly twice and continued to stir-fry the vegetables in the pan. With another stir-fry, her hand slipped, and a piece of vegetable jumped out of the pan along the spatula, landing right at Yang Nianqing's feet.

Yang Nianqing glanced at the distance between herself and Mo Mo, which was at least two meters apart, and couldn't help but give a thumbs up. It was quite an achievement to be able to throw the dish that far.

Mo Mo continued adding soy sauce as Yang Nianqing instructed, but her hand trembled and she added a large spoonful, instantly reducing the soy sauce bottle by a third. Mo Mo paused, wondering if it was too much. Hmm, probably not. Mo Mo then poured the soy sauce from the spatula into the pan. The soy sauce sizzled as it touched the pan, startling Mo Mo so much that she covered her face with the spatula and closed her eyes. The remaining soy sauce on the spatula splashed all over her face.

One drop even landed on Yang Nianqing's face, who was standing behind her. Yang Nianqing was startled and took out a tissue to wipe the soy sauce off her face.

As the sound of soy sauce hitting the oil in the pan gradually subsided, Mo Mo started stir-frying again. Two minutes later, she poured the vegetables into a plate.

"Qingqing, it's ready! Come and try it!" Mo Mo shouted excitedly.

Yang Nianqing then approached and said, "Remember to turn off the stove!"

The iron pot was still sizzling on the induction cooker. Mo Mo hurriedly turned off the heat, glanced at Yang Nianqing, smiled apologetically, and handed her a pair of chopsticks, saying, "Try it."

Yang Nianqing took the chopsticks and looked at the dishes on the plate. Her lips twitched. The dishes were so dark and black that she couldn't even tell what they were. Yang Nianqing swallowed and picked up a piece that looked like lean meat and put it in her mouth. The salty taste made her eyes widen.

"How is it? Is it delicious?" Mo Mo asked expectantly.

Yang Nianqing gave a stiff laugh, "It's...it's alright! Ugh!" As soon as she finished speaking, Yang Nianqing gagged.

Mo Mo's smile froze. She picked up a piece and tasted it herself. It was so salty it brought tears to her eyes. "Fairy, I know you want to comfort me, but if this is even okay, then there's really nothing bad in the world. And your little one won't allow it."

Yang Nianqing gave an awkward laugh. It seemed that the baby wasn't giving her much face. It was probably too early to have Mo Mo cook. Yang Nianqing patted her shoulder and said, "Well, let's take it slow. We can learn to order takeout later, so we won't starve to death, right?" As a fairy, she shouldn't be in a situation where she starves herself to death, right?

Mo Mo nodded and gave his seat to Yang Nianqing. Yang Nianqing tidied up the mess and started cooking. A true expert's skill is evident from the first bite. Yang Nianqing had been a chef for many years, and her skills were far superior to Mo Mo's. Mo Mo watched Yang Nianqing's cooking movements with dazzled eyes. Before long, the aroma of food wafted out. Every time Yang Nianqing finished a dish, she would give a portion to Mo Mo and put it into the Vine Entwined Flower Space.

Before long, Mo Mo was so full that he transformed into a cat and paced around the room to digest his food.

Yang Nianqing shook her head with amusement. The next two days passed by as Yang Nianqing cooked and prepared things.

In Yanxia Town, a young girl was standing by the roadside, her face as cold as ice. Several men walked over and, seeing that she was alone, began to strike up a conversation with her.

"Hey miss, all alone? Want to come grab a milk tea with us?" the man said with a smile, and his companions laughed along with him.

The girl glanced at them, shook the bell on her wrist, and said, "Get lost!"

The men's eyes blurred, and they suddenly saw images of several lions appearing around the girl.

One of the lions roared, "Roar!!!"

The man in the lead was so frightened that he fell to the ground and screamed, "A ghost! A ghost!" With the help of his companions, he fled in a panic, glancing back as he ran to see if the girl was chasing after him.

The girl scoffed dismissively, withdrawing the illusory beast and saying, "What trash!"

Ten minutes later, a car stopped in front of her, and the people in the car got out and said to her respectfully, "Miss, we've kept you waiting. Let's go straight back to the sect now. The sect leader and the former sect leader are waiting for you. We can set off as soon as you arrive."

The girl, Bei Rou, nodded indifferently, and asked the other person to open the back door for her. Bei Rou got in and said coldly, "Let's go!"

The visitor nodded, started the car, and drove towards a deep mountain near Yanxia Town.

Upon reaching a dense forest, the driver got out of the car and twisted some of the rocks in a few places. The trees moved to the left and right, revealing a roadway. The driver started the car again and drove forward. As the wheels rolled over the road, the trees seemed to sense it and slowly closed up from behind, as if there had never been a road there.

More than half an hour later, the car stopped at a manor. Bei Rou got out of the car and entered the manor. People greeted her along the way.

"Miss."

"Hello Miss."

"Miss."

Bei Rou nodded indifferently and walked towards the study, where her father and grandfather were waiting for her.

Upon entering the study, a middle-aged man and an elderly man noticed her and greeted her with smiles, "Rou Rou."

The old man smiled and said, "Rou Rou is back. Are you tired? Grandpa will ask your dad to pour you a glass of water."

Upon hearing her grandfather's gentle question, Bei Rou's emotions collapsed instantly.

“Grandpa!” Bei Rou cried out.

"What's wrong?" the middle-aged man, Bei Peng, asked as he walked up to Bei Rou.

Seeing Bei Rou crying, Bei Peng frowned and said, "Did the mission fail? If it failed, that's fine! Why are you crying like this?"

Bei Rou shook her head, her eyes brimming with tears, and looked at Bei Peng, saying, "Father! My cultivation is ruined. I only have the cultivation of a mid-level human cultivator now."

Bépén was horrified. How could this be!
Bei Jingyi walked out from behind the desk, reached out to feel Bei Rou's pulse, released his spiritual power, and carefully sensed it.

When spiritual energy that didn't belong to her entered her meridians, Bei Rou trembled slightly, unaccustomed to it.

After a long pause, Bei Jingyi finally put down his hand, his face grim. "You lost three demonic beasts? How could that be? That evil cultivator Du Yan was just a high-level human cultivator. You couldn't possibly have been unable to handle him. Who did you encounter?"
