Chapter 394 Everyone has their own agenda
"What are your thoughts on Li Zheng's performance today?" someone asked.

"What else can we say? It's just that a few more mutants were killed, nothing to be surprised about," someone scoffed.

"That's not how it works. I sent people into this event organized by the system to experience it firsthand. Every single mutant was very strong, at least at the diamond level." Someone offered an objective assessment.

"Not only that! Those few with diamond-level strength are still at the end of their numbers. Li Zheng and his group have now reached number nineteen. The mutants they've encountered might already be at the extraordinary level, and even at the top level!" someone said cautiously.

"Top-tier Extraordinary level? Isn't that a bit of an exaggeration? Everyone entered the Matrix together, so why is he so strong? I think Mutant Number Nineteen should be at the top-tier Diamond level, close to Extraordinary." Someone questioned.

"Hmph, why don't you send someone in to experience it for yourself? Li Zheng and the others are currently challenging mutant number eighteen, so why don't you send someone to number seventeen and see if they can come out in thirty seconds?" someone sneered.

"Stop arguing! We're all gathered here to get some benefits from Li Zheng, aren't we? The stronger he is, the more good stuff he has, and the higher our final gains will be." Someone stepped in to mediate.

"Are you an idiot? Li Zheng's current strength has at least reached the threshold of the Star Glory level, and it may even be stronger! What qualifications do we have to get benefits from him? You go if you want, I've changed my mind and am withdrawing from this alliance." Someone backed out and withdrew without a word.

"Anyone else want to quit? If you want to leave, leave now. If you wait until the plan is implemented, it won't be so easy to quit." Someone asked in the group, with a hint of threat in their tone.

"I'm quitting too! If it weren't for today's frenzied killing of mutants, I would have given my all in this alliance, but now I see no hope at all, and continuing the plan would be suicide." Someone else also quit.

As soon as this person left, people kept leaving the group without even saying a few polite words.

In less than a minute, only five people remained in the group, each representing an organization.

"The remaining few must all have some strength and resources, so I won't hold back. Tonight, the operation will begin. I'll send thirty chip warriors, all equipped with the best weapons and combat suits." This person was none other than Jess D. Fortanson, the head of the White Eagle.

"Not enough!" a player named Jonathan replied, "Who doesn't know that your Bald Eagles' aces are the Super Squad? For such a big operation, you didn't even send any Super Squad members, only a few worthless chip warriors?"

As mentioned earlier, almost all members of the Bald Eagles came from the former Stars and Stripes army. Before joining the Matrix, they were known as (emphasis added) super-elite special forces who could take on an entire special forces unit from another country single-handedly.

However, this elite force was measured by value in the eyes of these people; they discussed whether the troops were worth money, rather than treating them as human beings.

It seems that after these soldiers were controlled by Jess with chips, they were no different from pigs and dogs, and could be bought and sold at will or used as consumables.

"I'm still a ways off from mastering the technology within the Matrix. I haven't yet developed a chip to control those super-powered team members. If I send them to deal with Li Zheng, I'm afraid even more of them will desert in the face of battle." As a scientist, Jess wasn't as shrewd as a politician, and he directly laid out his weaknesses.

"Really? I heard that this chip was developed by your student, but you secretly seized it and that's why it's named after you?" Another player who appeared at the auction suddenly spoke up. "I must say, it's laughable. You know, those useless guys I keep under my command just a few days ago had already figured out the basics of how to use this technology." This person was none other than Tanaka Junichiro.

“Mr. Tanaka is right.” A female player named Rebecca chimed in, “As far as I know, there are no fewer than thirty tech players in the Dragon Kingdom Nine Heavens organization. Two of them had already thoroughly researched this gameplay in the early stages of the game and created quite a few good things.”

"So what do you want?" Jess's face was grim. He had always thought that he controlled tens of thousands of chip warriors and that his power and strength were the strongest in the Matrix.

However, after spending the last few days with him, he realized that his pride in being from the Bald Eagle had been utterly shattered. Perhaps only one sentence can describe his current situation: Times have changed, sir!

"What do we want?" Tanaka Junichiro sent a message with a half-smile: "Mr. Jess, you have to increase your stake, otherwise you are not qualified to participate in this plan."

For years, the United States has been a lackey of the United States. Now that it has finally gotten its chance to show its strength, Tanaka Junichiro did not hesitate to bite back.

Jonathan added, "That's right. If the Bald Eagle can only afford chip warriors, then the number should at least double, and each one must have one or two mechanical limb modifications of no less than diamond quality!"

"What! Impossible!" Jess refused on the spot: "The price is too high. If I send a team like this, why would I need to be allied with you?"

Sending such a small team from Jess just to deal with Li Zheng alone? That's absolutely impossible!

"To be fair," the last female player, Diana, finally spoke up, "It's really asking too much of Jayce to field such a team."

"How about... reducing the number to forty, but all equipment quality must be at least diamond? What do you think?"

"The remaining fighting force will be supplemented by the four of us, and it would be best if we could achieve an absolute crushing advantage over Li Zheng."
