Devouring World Dragon

Nine years earlier, Poseidon and Apollo had been banished to Earth by Zeus for defying him. Perhaps seeing Hermes' plight, the king of the gods, in a moment of inspiration, also forced them to build walls for the King of Troy as punishment.

If Hermes' problem was due to his own actions, then these two great gods were simply the result of angering the King of the Gods.

"Heroes of Thebes, in my opinion, it is best not to let us mortals interfere with the punishment of the god-king."

After tidying himself up a bit, the King of Troy gave Hercules some advice.

Hercules frowned, but after thinking for a moment, he spoke to one of his attendants.

"Take me to see it."

The walls of Troy were extremely magnificent, towering and sturdy. It took the servants more than ten minutes to lead the way before they retreated in fear and trepidation, for there were two great gods there.

Not far away, Hercules saw the two great gods who were building the city walls.

Unlike Hermes, who was quite miserable after being stripped of his divine powers, the two great gods were not stripped of their divine powers, so even though they were banished to the mortal world, their divine might was still formidable.

Poseidon, the sea god who shakes the earth and causes earthquakes, has an angry expression. Each breath he exhales creates a chilling wind, and each step he takes causes the earth to tremble slightly. However, the thick brass chains, as thick as a child's arm, were locked around his body, making it difficult for him to move. He could only move the huge stones one by one with a gloomy expression to build this magnificent city wall.

Unlike Poseidon, Apollo's face was completely shrouded in radiance, as if his body itself were a radiance, making his face impossible to see.

The god of light radiated a warm and bright light, and his feet were bound by a thin golden chain. This golden chain seemed fragile, but no matter how brightly the light emanating from the god of light shone upon it, it could not burn away.

"Oh, how are you two great masters?"

Hermes, watching the two great gods building the city wall, said with a lighthearted and playful laugh.

Poseidon did not respond to Hermes' words at all, as if he had not heard them at all, and continued to carry the huge stone with heavy steps.

Hermes tried desperately to explain, but the god, whose body was only a ball of light, did not stop. A golden bow appeared out of thin air in his hand, and in the blink of an eye, he had already shot out countless arrows.

Each arrow caused a loud bang, forcing Hermes to constantly dodge and weave.

"Don't you want to stop this damn job?"

Apollo placed his long, slender fingers on the arrow, then paused, as if pondering something, before speaking.

Hermes then stopped, no longer looking disheveled as before, but having regained his divine identity. He wore his winged hat and boots, and his winged symbol adorned both behind his ears and ankles.

These ubiquitous wings testify to his incredible speed; no matter how fast a bird or light moves, it cannot catch up with this supreme deity of the universe.

He waved his hand.

"Look at this mortal, do you know who he is?"

As if only then noticing, Apollo looked at Hercules with his radiant head and simply said...

"Just a mortal, so what?"

"He is Hercules."

Apollo seemed to know the name, but still snorted.

"He was just a mortal."

“But this mortal has released me, so I think perhaps he can release you two too?”

Apollo did not answer. He immediately realized that Hermes had regained his divine power and retrieved his artifacts, but he still did not believe that Hermes could be of much use to him.

Seeing that Apollo did not believe him, Hermes simply shrugged and turned to Heracles.

"Great hero, now is the time to prove your abilities. Whether you can release these two great gods depends on yourself."

Since he was already free, he only thought of giving the two gods a chance to try because they were both prisoners. Whether they succeeded or not, he didn't care.

Although Heracles didn't say anything about Apollo's disdain, he was extremely resentful. His innate stubbornness made him determined to unleash these two great gods and leave them speechless.

So he said to Apollo, "If I want to release you, what must I do?"

Apollo initially didn't want to pay attention to this mortal, but after much persuasion, he finally answered.

"If you want to free me, you must cut the golden chain on my foot. But this chain is forged from the thunderbolts of Zeus, and it is incredibly strong. You cannot help me."

Hercules picked up the gold chain, applied a little force, and realized that the chain was indeed extremely sturdy.

The God of Light scoffed at the attempts of mortals.

"Give up, for the chains that imprison a god are not something a mortal can break."

Indeed, no matter how hard Hercules tried, he could not budge the thin gold chain.

But Hercules quickly came up with a solution.

He knelt on the ground and shouted to the sky.

“My heavenly father, if you are willing to forgive Apollo, please allow me to break this golden chain and release this god of light.”

His posture was devout and respectful, and then he rose again.

At this moment, Apollo realized that Hercules seemed somewhat different, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what was different.

Before he could speak, Hercules gripped the gold chain again, let out a low growl, and the muscles in his arms bulged as he once again mustered all his strength.

"Boom!"

This time, the gold chain snapped under the power of the great hero.

Thus, Apollo, who had been imprisoned, was freed.

The god of light was still somewhat unsure. He tentatively took flight, and the golden chain slipped off, no longer binding him. The god was finally certain that he was free, thanks to the rescue of a mortal.

He dispelled the radiance surrounding his face, revealing his true appearance, which he had previously refused to show. Bright eyes, a straight nose, curly hair—truly a handsome man who would astound even the gods.

"Hercules, I thank you for your rescue, I will remember it."

The god of light gave the great hero before him a deep look, then lowered his head as a sign of his approval of this mortal.

After expressing his gratitude verbally, he handed the great hero a bow.

"Take it. This is a divine bow that I often use. It is absolutely powerful for mortals."

The great hero accepted it without hesitation; it was the reward he deserved.

As for Poseidon, the god who remained silent and focused on his own affairs, Apollo explained...

“Unlike me, the chains that imprison this Earthshaker are forged from bronze, which lies deep beneath the earth, and are stronger than the golden chains that bind me. If Zeus does not come, I doubt anyone can release him.”

The difficulty of breaking this bronze chain is greater than that of the gold chain, but the most troublesome one is the Earthshaker God, who has been imprisoned for many years and whose heart is extremely irritable.

Just by getting close, the terrifying gaze suddenly cast by this Earthshaker was enough to frighten anyone.

It exhaled a frigid storm, freezing everything around it. If the great hero hadn't reacted quickly and dodged, he would probably have been frozen in place on the spot.

"Sigh, Poseidon's temper is still the same..."

Hermes merely uttered a single remark, and Poseidon turned and glared at him. This traveling god, who dared to joke with Apollo, shrank back in fear and dared not utter another word.

Among the gods, Zeus, the king of the gods, was the most revered, and Poseidon was the next most respected.

Zeus ruled the sky, Poseidon ruled the sea, and Hades ruled the underworld. In fact, Poseidon ruled not only the sea, but also half of the earth, while the other gods shared the remaining half. Therefore, his power was second only to Zeus.

This great god was by nature capricious, and now, after being enslaved for many years, his resentment was beyond description.

But Hercules was not afraid. He looked at Poseidon and asked with his head held high.

"Earthshaker, do you want to leave this place?"

Poseidon did not answer, but simply breathed on him, and the cold storm returned. The biting cold was enough to freeze everything, but Hercules gritted his teeth and resisted.

Not only did he resist, the great hero stubbornly took a step forward.

Unlike Apollo, whose ankles were chained, Poseidon was imprisoned by multiple layers of chains, which severely restricted his movements and left him with few options.

Poseidon stared at Zeus's mortal son and snorted.

"I don't need Zeus's child to save me."
