Chapter 300 Revelation

Chapter 300 Revelation

"Then I heard them say: 'To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, forever and ever!'"

—The Book of Revelation in the Bible

……

64 AD, Patmos, Greece.

On a meadow, a young shepherd was dozing on the soft grass, the sun warming his body, while not far away, a flock of sheep were leisurely grazing.

Half-asleep, the young shepherd opened his eyes and blinked in confusion.

"here it is……"

A dreamlike voice arose, filled with confusion.

“Lazy John, stop sleeping! If you don’t keep an eye on your sheep, they’ll all run away.”

Beside the meadow, his companions passing by laughed and shouted at the young shepherd.

Upon hearing this, John seemed to snap out of a daze and scratched his head sheepishly.

"What's wrong? Are you still dreaming? Did you dream about Jenny?"

A friendly young man approached and called out to the shepherd, while his companions laughed and made a mocking noise.

Jenny was a beautiful girl in the village, with a few freckles. She was kind-hearted, youthful, and lovely, and was the dream girl of many young men.

It's no secret that John likes Jenny, but it won't be so easy for the lazy shepherd to marry her.

"No, no, no... I didn't dream about Jenny."

John quickly tried to explain, and the young man's cheeks flushed red. Even for this shy young man, such a joke still made him feel embarrassed.

“It wasn’t that I dreamt about Jenny, but rather… I dreamt about some very strange things.”

John tried to explain to his fellow countrymen, but he didn't know where to begin. Hesitantly, he could only say, "Strange thing."

"Something strange? What's going on?"

Several companions came to John's side, some standing and some sitting, and asked with great interest.

The isolated village had nothing new to offer, so much so that even a dream was enough to pique the interest of these young men.

"I dreamt that I came to heaven, no, to a place even farther than heaven..."

……

It's hard to describe how incredible that dream was. In the dream, John, in a daze, felt himself in the highest heaven.

I don't know how to describe it, because it soared through the sky and over the clouds, but it didn't stop. Instead, it continued to fly to higher places.

Then suddenly, he found himself in a very strange place: a crystal-clear floor, strange seats, and on those seats sat powerful and majestic beings. They had human-like bodies but were strangely shaped, busily manipulating something that looked like a gemstone, occasionally saying something.

When John appeared, some of them seemed quite surprised. They communicated in an unknown language, and after a moment, a dignified and kind old man materialized.

The old man told John a lot of things, most of which he didn't understand. He only vaguely remembered that, due to some accident caused by war, his soul had come to a place that didn't belong to him? An era?
The words were too strange for John to understand; he only knew that the old man promised to take him back to his home.

However, amidst the ensuing deafening roar, these powerful and majestic beings also became anxious, and in the ensuing chaos, no one paid any attention to John anymore.

It was precisely because of this that John finally saw the external influences projected by this strange, crystal-clear world.

A war.

A war that left ordinary people speechless with shock. Although John's understanding of war consisted only of the tales told by bards, and he had no idea what those strange things were.

But against the dark backdrop, the strange lights, the enormous objects that were many times larger than the largest cowshed, the huge things floating in the air, and the countless aerial behemoths that filled his field of vision, all made John instinctively realize that this was a war.

Both of them looked very strange. John couldn't recognize what it was at all, but he knew that the crystal-clear world he was in seemed to be a part of it.

Those enormous houses? Floating in the air, battling monsters that also fly through the air.

The battlefield was extremely brutal. Although there was no bloodshed, the sight of houses suddenly exploding and being destroyed still terrified John, who lay on the ground, repeatedly making the sign of the cross and trembling as he prayed for God's protection.

There were so many, so many things. John had never seen so many things before.

There were more of them than wild grass on the ground, more than stars in the sky, so many that you couldn't take them all in. You looked from near to far, and then from far to near, and there were all sorts of strange things everywhere.

Finally, a sudden, deafening roar sent shivers down John's spine.

Something enormous, incredible, and indescribable appeared, far larger than anything John had seen above. In this world against a pitch-black backdrop, it almost completely filled the field of vision.

It was so enormous that its closest part occupied half of the field of vision, and at the far end of the field of vision, one could only vaguely see a strange bunch of huge horns and a bunch of heads.

As for its tail, which is so far away that its entirety cannot be seen, it seems to be dragging the stars in this dark sky, extending to the farthest reaches of the earth.

Huge, incredibly huge, so huge that John was speechless with fear.

John could hardly remember anything after that, except for the appearance of more strange creatures and things.

For example, a woman emerged from the mouth of that giant "snake." If she hadn't just flown past the "big house" where John was (John vaguely felt that he should also be in a house like those big houses), John wouldn't have even known that the blurry point of light was actually a woman.

And there were roughly four strange things, released by some unknown entity, to fight the monsters. But it seemed they weren't so happy about it?
Although he couldn't see clearly, John felt as if they were being forced.

His last memory was of the old man suddenly pushing him, and he unconsciously felt himself falling, before suddenly opening his eyes.

So, I woke up from the dream.

After dreaming of all that was terrifying, looking at this world bathed in the warm sunlight, everything felt like a distant memory.

John's companions listened in stunned silence, occasionally letting out gasps of amazement as he loudly described and seemed to want to draw it on the grass.

These things were completely beyond their comprehension and imagination; they could never have dreamed of them.

Some young people exclaimed that this must be a revelation from the divine world.

Soon, the story of "John who received divine revelation" spread, and the churches in the local Achaia region became very interested. Seven churches invited John to talk about the "divine revelation" he had received.

It's not that some people haven't questioned whether John was a fraud, but everything John described was too real, the details flowed perfectly. It didn't match his timid and hesitant demeanor at all.

Ultimately, the church concluded that this was the great battle between God and the angels and the ancient serpent Satan, the ultimate battle between good and evil.

The old man was considered God; the many strange creatures with eagle, bull, and lion heads were seen as angels; the colossal ten-horned, seven-headed creature was naturally the ancient serpent; the woman who brushed past John was considered the great harlot of Babylon; and the four unnamed beings were God's messengers—the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse…

The excited church members spent a long time compiling everything John had described. Much later, this description was solemnly included in the Bible, becoming a great achievement of the Apostle John.

And the title of this description is: The Book of Revelation.

……

"So who won in the end?"

Listening to her mother's bedtime Bible story, the well-behaved child blinked and asked curiously.

The mother smiled, stroked her child's head, and said gently, "In the end, of course, the kind angels won, and the evil Satan lost."
