Devouring World Dragon

Chapter 110 Unwilling

Chapter 110 Unwilling
In the days that followed, Lilith no longer explored and played curiously in the Garden of Eden. Instead, she often fell into quiet contemplation, her bewildered and confused eyes seeming to be thinking about something.

Unlike her, Adam, who was conceived with her, was gentle and kind-hearted. Unlike her, Adam did not think so much and lived a carefree life in boundless happiness. He did not understand what his female companion was thinking and even tried to make Lilith laugh and make her happy. However, faced with Adam's sincerity and simplicity, Lilith just smiled and shook her head to refuse.

There's one thing she wants to understand...

At the very bottom of the Seventh Heaven, the slumbering serpent remained asleep, while the dark entity possessing the serpent's will leisurely observed everything before it, its cold, serpentine eyes seeming to anticipate something.

Meanwhile, in the Crystal Heaven, the omnipotent and omniscient being looked down at the sixty-four chessboard below, silent, seemingly lost in thought.

Chess piece, chess player.

Different roles have different rules of the game.

Both players kept in mind the unspoken rule and did not attempt to interfere, simply waiting quietly for the outcome and developments.

And finally, one day...

“Mankind, obey the will of God, marry and be husband and wife, and multiply and procreate in this paradise.”

Amidst endless radiance, the angel of creation, Gabriel, manifested in a humanoid form, with a pure white halo appearing behind his head. Within that halo, one could vaguely see numerous cherubs singing hymns. This monarch of the White Moon sat in the air, his indistinct body shrouded in dazzling light. The handsome yet indifferent angel proclaimed the will of God to the humans before him.

Looking at the angel before him, the simple and honest Adam had no thoughts and obediently submitted to God's will. However, looking at the angel before him, Lilith fell silent and did not directly respond to the king of the White Moon.

The pure white pupils, without a trace of impurity, turned to look at the human in front of them.

"Woman, why are you silent?"

His indifferent voice was completely devoid of emotion.

Looking at the angel before her, Lilith thought for a moment, then clenched her hands and softly asked the angel.

"Son of God, please tell me... why should I marry Adam?"

In an instant, the Son of God and the angel before them opened their eyes.

It wasn't the pair of pure white pupils that ordinary people could see, but rather a kind of shock, as if a lion that was lazily resting had sensed something and was suddenly awakened; it sensed that something was wrong with the woman.

The pure white pupils coldly gazed at the woman before him, while the woman calmly looked at the angel before her. Her once bewildered and confused eyes were now as bright as a mirror.

"For this is the will of the Father."

The angel replied indifferently.

"Then why should I obey the Father's will?"

Lilith refused to back down, staring directly at the angel of creation before her, and pressed for an answer.

At this moment, the pure white pupils of the White Moon's monarch grew even colder; it had already realized something.

"Because everything in this Garden of Eden was created by the Father. Life, death, the sky, the atmosphere, and even the body and soul that make up you are all creations of the Father. Woman, nothing in this world belongs to you. All of these are gifts from the Father. You should obey the Father's will."

The indifferent voice remained unchanged.

As Gabriel said, everything in this Garden of Eden was created by God. In this void world, God created everything in this world, and everything did not belong to mankind.

"If that's the case, what about my personal will?"

But when facing the angel, Lilith still stared straight at the angel in front of her and stubbornly pressed for an answer.

"What distinguishes me from all other things in this world? What is my free will as a living being? Is my personal will completely unimportant, and do I have no right to decide for myself?"

"That too is a creation of God."

The angel responded to the woman before him in this way. However, the woman shook her head and said calmly.

“Holy angels, free will is not bound by whose creation it is. Just as flowers and grasses that grow by the sunlight do not change their bodies because they crave sunlight, and rivers that flow downstream do not change their course because of their source, my free will, though born by the hand of God, does not belong to God.”

Then, clutching her chest, the woman said earnestly.

“Son of God, my free will tells me that I do not wish to marry Adam.”

The resolute voice, though faint, moved the two chess players outside the chessboard.

Between his fingers, a jet-black chess piece danced, and a dark creature, shrouded in darkness and with its face obscured, curled its lips into a smile.

Meanwhile, in the Crystal Heaven, the Omniscient and Omnipotent One looked down at the chessboard floating in the air before him, deep in thought.

……

"Absurd!"

As anger flared, blazing white flames gradually rose around the monarch of the White Moon, while the first humans stared fearlessly at the angel king before them.

And just then...

"Lilith, why are you unwilling to marry me?"

A bewildered and confused Adam stared at the woman before him, his innocent eyes filled with bewilderment. The man, as simple and sincere as a child, could not understand why the woman was unwilling to be his wife.

Turning to look at the man beside her, Lilith smiled. Then, she reached out her slender arm and gently brushed the leaves off the man's shoulders, who shared the same origin as her. She carefully and attentively tidied his messy curly hair, just like an older sister would treat her young brother.

Then, she looked at the man in front of her with her bright eyes and said earnestly.

"Adam, do you love Lilith?"

Then, a hint of confusion flashed in the man's bewildered and blank eyes.

After thinking for a moment, he hesitated.

What is love?

Looking at the man before her, Lilith felt as if she were looking at her former self—familiar words, familiar expression, familiar eyes—and then she spoke softly.

"I once asked the same question as you, feeling lost and confused, but in the end, I found my own answer..."

"Love is a kind of freedom."

Her bright eyes were as clear as water.

God's garden—the Garden of Eden—is a heavenly kingdom of eternal bliss, free from toil, worry, hardship, birth, old age, sickness, and death. In this kingdom, life will attain unimaginable and incomparable happiness and peace. However, in this Garden of Eden, there is one thing that is missing…

free.

For Lilith, who was enjoying happiness, love was freedom.

She yearned for freedom, deeply loved freedom, pursued freedom, and profoundly worshipped and believed in freedom; for this, she was willing to pay any price.

"Those who defy the gods!"

As the White Moon King's voice rang out, a greatsword burning with blazing holy flames was swung out, but Lilith in front of him had already turned into white light and vanished.
