False evidence

Chapter 67 Blue Killer

Chapter 67 Blue Killer

The kitchen door opened, and Bai Jing walked up to me with a cold face.

I craned my neck to try and see behind her by going around her shoulder, but she grabbed my face and pushed me away, keeping an arm's length between us.

I brushed aside her clutches and glanced outside the door, feeling a strange sense of unease and fear.

"You go first," Bai Jing said coldly.

I wanted to object, but seeing her shrug uncomfortably, I gave up the idea.

The south is humid, so once you step out of the courtyard gate, there's a downward slope.

After going down the slope, it was about thirty steps from where we parked.

I walked slower and slower, without turning my neck, but my eyes were constantly scanning my surroundings.

When I was about ten steps away from the car, my gaze fixed on one spot.

Chen Zudao's home was extremely remote. Not only was it in the countryside, but there were no other houses within a two-kilometer radius.

Although it was a dirt road, it was a separate road that led directly to his house, which was where I parked.

On both sides of the road are bamboo forests, a common sight in southern China.

I remember clearly: through the telepathic connection, I saw a thin man with a buzz cut, wearing glasses and a blue basketball jersey suddenly leap out from where I was looking. He was so close to the car that neither Bai Jing nor I could react before he reached us. The next second, he pulled a knife from his waist and plunged it straight into Bai Jing's vital area…

Looking back on that moment, I took two steps forward and began to regret it.

I stopped and turned to look at Bai Jing.

"Let's go?" Bai Jing's tone remained icy.

I took a deep breath, lowered my gaze, and stammered in a voice only the two of us could hear:
"You...you...you should protect your groin. He hit you first, and then...then..."

Bai Jing looked at me coldly, her face expressionless, and said, "You should also pay attention to the time. If I'm not busy in five minutes, you'd better run."

As she spoke, she magically produced a kitchen knife from behind her back.

I swallowed hard.

I've seen this knife before. When I went with her to the kitchen to get a bowl, this old-fashioned cleaver was quietly nailed to the cutting board.

"me……"

I want to say that everything I said before was true.

Or, I could simply tell her everything, from how I met Yang Wudao to all the other experiences I had.

Because I've also begun to realize that this whole situation is truly mysterious and unpredictable.

However, I still haven't forgotten the reappearance of the prophecy and the ending I saw for Bai Jing.

Bai Jing and I have only known each other for less than forty-eight hours.

But aside from my current inexplicable mania, I have absolutely no ill feelings towards her.

Based on this, even if everything I 'see' is just a hallucination caused by mental derangement, I would rather she chase and attack me in a fit of rage than see the 'hallucination' become reality.

Looking at the cleaver she was holding, I tapped my forehead a few times with my right knuckle. "Girl, I really meant well... I don't know why this is happening... but I really don't want to give you money as a wedding gift."

Bai Jing snorted coldly and turned her face to the side. "Don't worry, this knife is just for intimidation. To put it bluntly, it's just to scare you. Go ahead and run, you can drive or whatever. I won't chase you. But I'll always find you. We'll settle this score later."

She spoke so bluntly that I was speechless for a moment.

He looked again at the bamboo grove from which the basketball player in the 'illusion' had rushed out. The wind and water were calm, and the newly grown bamboo stalks at the edge of the grove did not sway.

I was so nervous that I didn't dare to go any further. My mind raced, and I made up my mind to stall for as long as I could.

I adjusted the cropped jeans I'd changed into this morning when I left Bamboo Forest Villa, squatted down, and tightened the laces of my sneakers. "Damn, my OCD is acting up again. I've only worn these shoes twice, and the laces on both sides aren't even tied tight..."

As I muttered to myself, I untied my shoelaces and simultaneously raised my eyelids to steal a glance at Bai Jing's reaction.

As soon as I looked up, I suddenly saw a person dart out of the bamboo grove next to me!

"Be careful……"

As soon as I shouted, the man threw something away with his left hand.

A flash of light appeared on his right hand, and he suddenly thrust it into Bai Jing's side waist!

I didn't care about pretending anymore, and I jumped up and lunged forward.

But, just as she tiptoed up...

Suddenly, Bai Jing's eyes lit up, and she swung the kitchen knife and slammed it down on the back of the man's head!
For Bai Jing, a kitchen knife was optional.

It's like when a child misbehaves at the dinner table, and the mother taps the back of their hand with chopsticks—it's just a warning.

The truly exciting part is when the mother throws down her chopsticks and starts slicing the child with both hands.

The fact is, Bai Jing knocked that 'basketball guy' down with just one slice of her knife.

Then, she threw down the kitchen knife, took a half-step forward, bent one knee, and her shapely long leg pressed directly onto the back of the 'basketball guy's' neck.

Immediately afterwards, under her forceful pulling, the basketball player's two arms snapped together, his wrists coming together behind his back.

I quickly pulled out my shoelaces and tossed them to her: "Catch!"

From the moment the basketball player appeared until his thumb was tied with shoelaces, it would never take more than a minute.

Even though I saw that he was being restrained by Bai Jing, I still rushed over in a panic and held my breath to look at the spot where Bai Jing had been stabbed.

There was indeed blood, but only a small patch the size of a little fingernail.

My eyes rolled and landed on the light green hilt of the knife, and I was speechless.

……

"You bastard, you actually hurt my child, I'll kill you!"

With a thunderous roar, a 'giant' wearing a sweatshirt, black shorts, and dark blue slippers with the sides askew strode out of the bamboo forest.

As soon as Chen Zudao got close, he suddenly raised one foot...

"Don't mess around!"

I rushed over and yanked the basketball player out from under his feet, glaring at him and saying, "Are you tired of living? You think you can kill someone and get away with it?!"

Chen Zudao paused for a moment, then suddenly reached out and pulled off his tattered slippers. Barefoot, he straddled the basketball player's body and repeatedly slapped the player's head with the slippers, saying as he did so:
"What kind of bastard came from, daring to touch my child! I'll teach you a lesson you won't forget..."

He smacked the basketball player on the head with the sole of his shoe for a full minute, and showed no sign of stopping.

Seeing the basketball player with half his face pressed against the dirt road, looking utterly hopeless... I was truly at a loss for words.

I looked at Bai Jing, who had already stood up, for a moment, then pointed to the ground:
"The knife broke. If it hadn't, you'd be half dead by now."

"I know!"

As Bai Jing spoke angrily, she reached deep into the collar of her T-shirt and pulled out a belt, at which point a soft sound came from behind her.

A pristine white porcelain plate fell to her heels...
