False evidence

Chapter 32 Cargo

Chapter 32 Cargo
The monkey asked me, "What do you mean? What do you mean by 'where did you come from'?"

"Don't speak! Listen to me!"

Gao He patted my shoulder. "This time is different from last time. No matter what your reason is, you can't see the suspect until he's convicted! That's the rule!"

"Do you have a pen?" I asked in a low voice.

Gao He took out a notebook and a pen and handed them to me.

I quickly wrote a few lines, and Gao He looked at them with great interest:

"You've finally admitted that you've inherited Yang Wudao's mantle. I never imagined that such a mysterious existence existed in the world."

I took the notebook and quickly wrote a few more lines.

Gao He looked down and said, "That's understandable. Humans invented physiognomy, so it must be based on human beings. You can't read a dog's fortune."

I wrote in one go and handed the notebook to him.

Gao He looked down and examined it, his expression gradually becoming serious. "It looks like a sick chicken. Who would buy it...? They might give it a little something, at least it's a male... We're going to lose a fortune..."

He suddenly looked up at me and said, “It sounds like a conversation between two people; they are in a buying and selling relationship, but the deal fell through because the goods were not in good condition.”

The monkey walked over and said, "A guy with a penis? Isn't that male? A living creature?"

He looked at me, as if realizing something, "This 'goods' doesn't mean people, does it?"

Gao handed me the notebook and said in a deep voice, "You told me that your grandfather brought you back from the mountains. You suspect that you were abducted and abandoned in the mountains? You want to see the suspect to find out about your origins, right?"

I nodded.

Gao He's expression grew increasingly serious. "So, do you now suspect the suspect in this case is the person who kidnapped you, or the person who refused to bribe you?"

I wrote: 'Bribery. Human traffickers should be women.'

Gao He said, "I believe you have your reasons for being so convinced, but you must understand that none of your accusations can be considered actual evidence! But don't worry, if he really has a history of human trafficking, I will definitely find a way to make him talk! You just focus on recovering from your injuries, and leave everything else to me. I'll take care of it right away!"

After Gao left, I was in a daze.

Before this, I had never thought about exploring my own background.

But this time, I suddenly had an intense longing.

My grandfather was closer to me than my own father, but he always said: "We've arrived, we've arrived. What does it mean to arrive? Whether life is good or bad, it's only one lifetime. Only when you truly understand life can you say you've truly lived."

I still can't say I fully understand what those words mean. But for some reason, what I've been through lately has left me feeling quite exhausted, as if my mental age has suddenly doubled.

Very few people live a life truly 'enlightened'. But at least I should know where I came from, right?
"Child, are you alright? You're shaking all over."

I snapped out of my daze and saw the concerned look in Pidan's mother's eyes, so I quickly shook my head and said, "It's nothing... I'm fine."

Looking at the monkey and preserved egg, who were also watching me with the same concern, I became much more sober.

The dialogue I wrote for Gao He was the same one that appeared in my dream. I could only hear their voices, but not see them.

However, after these few days of brief experience, I began to learn to distinguish between dreams and other special things.

I was convinced that this conversation wouldn't have appeared in my 'dream' out of nowhere. However, just as Gao He said, what I possessed was merely an illusion without being verified in reality. Realizing this, I handed the folder that Gao He might have 'accidentally left behind' to Monkey, indicating that he should take it and check it with Pidan and his mother.

About twenty minutes later, the monkey let out a long sigh: "Goodness, they're trying to wipe out the whole family, that's too ruthless!"

Pidan still came over. "The suspects are a father and son, one is a security guard at this hospital, and the other is a caregiver. The modus operandi is pretty much as you described before."

The missing body was found on the bed of security guard H. The deceased was H's girlfriend from vocational high school. After they broke up, the woman married a wealthy man.

The woman was hospitalized for two months after falling ill. H, who had become a security guard, saw her again and realized that he had never forgotten her at all.

According to H himself, he felt the woman wasn't living a happy life. Especially after she was diagnosed with a terminal illness, her wealthy husband rarely visited her in the hospital.

The monkey chimed in, "The truth is, the woman's husband has been traveling around contacting renowned hospitals both domestically and internationally to find a suitable kidney for her to transplant."

The monkey asked me, "Is that the kidnapper you're talking about the guy in the photo on the first page? He's H's father!"

I waved my hand, forcing a smile, and said, "Let's not talk about that. Between these two, which one was the one Bian Xiaomao saw?"

The monkey sighed, hesitated, and finally said:
"H had known about the woman's condition for a long time and had been planning with his father. On the day the woman died, in the morgue corridor, his father temporarily sent another caregiver away so that his son could impersonate the corpse and switch the bodies."

The 'female corpse' Bian Xiaomao later saw was actually the father in disguise. Their purpose in doing this was twofold: first, to divert the police's attention; and second, to plan revenge against the woman's husband, and perhaps even his entire family.

Pidan's mother seemed frightened and looked lost. Seizing the opportunity, she pulled Pidan to the bedside and held onto her arm tightly.

The monkey continued, "The woman's husband arrived late that day and didn't have time to see his wife one last time. The man didn't wail and cry; he seemed to just want to stay in his car, looking out the window at the morgue, and spend a little more time with his wife."

He didn't know that H had long hated him and wanted to harm him.

The information was probably shown to us by Gao He; it lacked details and used code names for everyone. It only mentioned that H took the opportunity to tie him to the car with tape and put a basket of pre-prepared rats inside.

He didn't kill the woman's husband on the spot because he knew his family would find the car sooner or later. Imagine opening the car door...and seeing the man gnawed like that by rats that had escaped after days of starvation—wouldn't that terrify several people?

"In this way, this whole family is going to die," said Pidan, his face pale.

Pidan's mother hugged her even tighter: "Human nature... is more frightening than anything else."

The monkey nodded: "The worst thing is wishful thinking. When one-sided 'feelings' reach an uncontrollable point, that's abnormal."

He suddenly gasped, "How could an ordinary person have such a meticulous plan?"

I sighed: "That means at least one of these two, father and son, is not ordinary."

"Boom..."

A rumble of thunder sounded, and my heart skipped a beat. I rolled out of bed.

"Where are you going?"

The three, including the monkey, asked at the same time.

I glanced at the three faces, then looked at the overcast sky outside the window. "I want to go for a walk."
