Kingdom Bloodline
Chapter 589 Jealousy
Chapter 589 Jealousy
In a deserted alley, Thales, cloaked, stepped off the carriage, sandwiched between Commuto and Golov, who were dressed similarly.
The way the two men looked around cautiously, like guilty philanderers cheating on their wives, made them seem like guilty customers.
Glov led the way, skillfully passing through two doorways and winding through different alleyways and windows (while deftly dodging overhead coat racks, including spilled sewage), until they arrived at the back door of a mysterious large house.
The path was uneven and filthy. Along the way, they encountered several wary-looking beggars, which made Thales feel a little dazed, as if he had returned to his childhood.
“I’m a little dizzy…we just came here to lay low for a bit,” Kommuto said, rubbing his forehead where he had accidentally bumped into a window, and looking at the wooden door in front of him.
"But where exactly is this place? Could it be some kind of illegal, unlicensed shady business..."
Clearly, this former guard, accustomed to serving the inner city and its nobles, was not used to such a place.
Thales chuckled: The standards of legality and illegality don't really apply here—in fact, almost all the legal shops that have been operating on Red Town Street for many years have some illegal connections, and all illegal businesses are mostly covered by legal means.
“This is a well-established restaurant with a prominent storefront—we just came in through the back door.”
Glov pulled his hood tighter, shook his head at them, then opened the old, shabby, and stingy back door, skillfully lifting the deep red curtain and leading them into the dimly lit room.
Thales and Commuto followed them inside, and immediately realized that it was out of place in the alleyway outside:
The lighting here is dim and warm, and a refreshing fragrance fills the air, creating a relaxing atmosphere. Silk curtains and sheer drapes hang throughout the entrance hall and corridors, the design and layout are ingenious, and the decorative paintings and tapestries are quite artistic.
It was the atmosphere—Thales vaguely heard laughter from a man and a woman in one of the rooms through his hellish senses—that was rather strange.
Glov concealed his face under his cloak, ignored a scantily clad young woman carrying a glass of wine as she passed by them, and led them up a creaky wooden staircase into a corridor on the second floor filled with rooms.
“Oh, I feel like I’ve been here before…” Kommuto scratched his head.
A clear bell rang above their heads, and the three of them looked up at the same time.
She was a tall, slender, and radiant young girl draped in a thin veil, with long hair flowing over her shoulders and exquisite features.
She sat comfortably on the third-floor stairwell, swinging her two small, white, bare feet, and smiling at them.
The girl skipped nimbly down the steps, the bells on her ankles ringing out melodiously.
"Welcome to Laiya Club!"
But as soon as "she" opened her mouth, all three of them changed color.
Thales immediately recognized from the other person's neutral tone: it wasn't a young girl.
Instead, he was a fair-skinned, handsome young man with delicate features and a striking appearance that made it almost impossible to tell his gender.
In fact, he was dressed in thin clothes, with a thin veil around his neck and thighs, and his movements were gentle and graceful, making him very endearing.
The three men's expressions immediately turned strange.
"Ah, to be able to enter from here, you must all be distinguished guests of noble birth," the young man smiled kindly, a little shy and bashful.
"My name is Xixi, and I am dedicated to serving you!"
The boy casually tossed his hair, exuding a strange and alluring charm.
Golov looked around for a moment before frowning.
Where is Aunt Ellie?
The pretty boy named Sisi winked playfully, circled the three of them, her hips swaying gracefully, her figure alluring:
"Unfortunately, she passed away a few weeks ago—don't worry, it was definitely not syphilis or venereal disease. We are a legitimate establishment with strict and regular medical checkups!"
Golov's expression darkened.
Kong Mutuo glanced at the prince and his colleagues, knowing that he was the one who had to handle the negotiations, so he coughed and stepped forward:
"Well, we'd like to keep a low profile."
He habitually took out a few copper coins and stuffed them into Sisi's hand.
Sisi beamed, flipped her hand, and the copper coin vanished without a trace.
"Understood! You three bosses, you're using the back door, so there shouldn't be any problems!"
Thales noticed that the other person's voice had a peculiar refinement. It was not at all a deliberate attempt to imitate, but rather sounded natural and comfortable. Coupled with the boy's charming gestures, his gender was momentarily blurred.
"So how many are there? What kind of service would you like?"
Sisi stopped circling around them. She curled her fingers and began to play with a corner of the sheer fabric, her gaze falling on Thales, who appeared the most understated and delicate in the middle.
"We're a renowned, long-established brand! Role-playing, reenactments, bondage and sadomasochism, group sex—we have it all... Oh, and lately, the Northern style is all the rage in the capital. We happen to have some new girls—or boys—who have arrived?"
Komuto swallowed hard, looking at Thales with a troubled expression: "Actually, all we need is a place to rest..."
“The three of you,” Golov pushed Commuto aside, his face expressionless and his tone cold:
"I want Lillian's service."
The zombie moved its feet, blocking Thales' path.
"Three people? You want Sister Lillian?"
The handsome young man frowned slightly, pondering as he poked his cheek, which was rather endearing.
He stood on tiptoe, glanced at the short, stocky Commuto and the bowed Thales (Golofer once again blocked the prince's path), and tugged at his scarf:
"Um...maybe you need a few more young ladies or young gentlemen?"
At this point, Sisi blushed slightly and blinked shyly:
"You know, I can too..."
“No,” Golov interrupted Sisi, who was intentionally or unintentionally revealing her fair neck.
"Just Lillian."
Seeing that the other person had no interest in her, Sisi looked disappointed.
“Hey, Miss Lillian is our top courtesan,” he said, his eyes darting around as he squeezed his way in front of Thales.
"I'm too busy right now, so how about I introduce you to Olivia and Cosette..."
But Golov grabbed Sisi's shoulder as she leaned towards Thales.
Sisi let out a soft "ah," as he braced himself against Golov's iron wrist, his eyes filled with resentment.
The zombie's expression froze, and he subconsciously released Sisi, coldly saying:
“I may not have been here for a long time, but I know the rules.”
“Take us to Lillian, or just call her Aunt Leia, and see what she has to say.”
Sisi looked aggrieved:
"Alright, alright, Lillian it is. She's so fierce, always bringing up Aunt Leia... May I ask her name?"
“It’s none of your business—” Golov was about to refuse when Thales gently nudged his waist.
Thales coughed under his cloak and walked up to Golover:
"Raphael."
"His name is Raphael Lindbergh."
Kommuto and Golov exchanged a glance.
Sisi raised an eyebrow, looking at Thales whose face was only half visible, then suddenly leaned close to him with a mischievous smile:
"And what about you, young man?"
The delicate fragrance emanating from Sisi startled Thales, who took a step back.
"Um—Wai Ya, my name is Wai Ya."
Sisi's eyes flickered as she softly repeated the name a few times, her expression playful.
“You, just talk to me,” Golov awkwardly interjected between them:
"My...brother is still young, stay away from him."
He stared warily at the handsome young man who was greeting guests.
Sisi puffed out her cheeks and looked at the big guy blocking Thales's way, with a hint of annoyance.
“It’s alright, Raphael,” Thales said with a smile, gesturing for the unsociable zombie to step back.
"Relax, be friendly."
The prince gave Sissi a friendly smile:
"Don't mind it—that's just how my brother is."
Seeing Thales' actions, the handsome young man smiled again.
“It’s alright, Wyman,” Sisi smiled happily at Thales.
"For your sake..."
While Golov wasn't looking, the androgynous boy playfully mouthed a "kiss" to Thales, then turned and left amidst the crisp ringing of the bell.
"You want to see Sister Lillian, right? Okay, come with me."
Thales gestured with his eyes to the two who seemed rather uncomfortable, and then followed.
The three followed Sisi, weaving through the curtains and into the corridor with its ambiguous atmosphere.
"Damn it," Thales muttered, watching Sissi's alluring figure ahead, as he heard Commuto behind him.
"This boy is even prettier than a girl..."
“That’s not a boy,” Golover replied in a low voice, his vigilance still evident.
"He is a eunuch."
Kommut was startled:
"what?"
Golov pulled Commuto closer and whispered:
“They were rigorously selected and trained, and castrated at a very young age to prevent the development of male characteristics such as an Adam's apple, abundant hair, developed muscles, and broad bones—in order to enter the palace and serve nobles.”
Thales was equally surprised. He frowned as he looked at Sisi's slender and graceful back.
Koumto's surprise had not subsided:
"I... I know there were eunuchs in ancient times, but I thought... I thought such people had disappeared..."
“It’s truly extinct here—it stopped being fashionable back in the Imperial era,” Golov said, his tone still curt.
"What you see now are basically all transported by sea from the eastern mainland or the western outlying islands."
Kommuto's curiosity remained undiminished, and he pressed for more information in a low voice.
Eunuch.
Thales lowered his head in deep thought.
Just then, a pleasant fragrance wafted into his nose.
"How old are you?"
Thales was startled, only then realizing that Sisi had unknowingly come to his side and was resting against his arm.
"what?"
Sisi covered her mouth and chuckled, then nudged Thales' shoulder:
"I've seen guys like you before, irresponsible older brothers bringing their younger brothers here to 'break their vows'..."
Thales awkwardly twitched his eyebrows.
“But if you come at this age, the older women won’t take you seriously. They’ll either laugh at you and tease you, or they’ll drain you dry—both your wallet and your body.”
Sisi hugged Thales' arm and rested her head on his shoulder, intentionally or unintentionally:
"How about I take you to get something nice to drink, take a walk, and then you can go back with your brothers after they're done?"
Feeling the softness of the other person's body and their fresh scent, Thales stiffened, resisting the urge to shake them off.
"I, I can't..."
“I’ll tell you a secret,” Sisi gently lifted the hood behind Thales’ ear, her warm breath tickling his earlobes:
"Actually, sex between men and women is not fun at all."
What?
Thales turned his head stiffly.
Sisi blinked and smiled brightly:
"real."
The other person's voice was sweet and gentle.
"Men come to Red Town Street..."
Sisi glanced back with disdain and tightened her grip on Thales' arm.
“It’s not because it’s pleasurable, nor because they want to do it,” Sisi snorted, pouting. “The reason they come here to do it is either because they can’t find anyone else to do it elsewhere…”
"Either, it's to prove something by doing that, to create an atmosphere or to achieve something—like when your brother brought you here."
Thales blinked.
“So,” Sisi stared intently into his eyes:
"That's not fun."
"What's more, you'll be with two other men—even if they are your brothers."
Thales's expression grew increasingly awkward.
Seeing the other person's embarrassed look, the handsome young man chuckled.
"How do you know about that kind of thing between men and women?" Thales, trying to think of a way to extricate himself, retorted casually:
"You're not..."
Sisi's face turned pale, and she lowered her head and bit her lip.
Thales felt the hand pulling him tremble.
Seeing Sisi's disappointed expression, the prince realized:
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean any harm..."
But suddenly Sisi raised her head and smiled.
"I know you didn't mean it," the handsome young man said, a sly glint in his eyes.
"You are different from them."
Sisi paused for a second, then whispered smugly in his ear:
"You're still a novice."
Telston petrified.
Sisi pulled on his arm and continued forward.
“But let me tell you, it’s my first time with a woman, it’s nothing special, nothing to brag about,” the boy pressed against Thales, his fragrance filling Thales’ nose.
"But it's really interesting when it's with men, or even with people outside of the male-female spectrum!"
Thales stared wide-eyed, momentarily at a loss for words.
Seeing the other person's reaction, Sisi laughed even harder.
The boy, more handsome than a girl, grabbed Thales's hand and rhythmically scratched the back of the prince's hand.
"You know, if it were me, I could show you so many interesting tricks and ways to play. My body can do so many things you can't even imagine... things that older women can't do."
"Trust me, you'll be so happy you'll lose your bearings."
Sisi winked at him meaningfully, her voice full of allure.
Thales stared at him blankly, his face slightly flushed.
Hey! I told you!
Golov's angry shout rang out behind him—he finally noticed Sissi, who had unknowingly appeared beside Thales:
"Stay away from my brother!"
The zombie reached out and pulled Thales back to its side, pointing a finger at Sissi's nose to warn her:
"Or get closer to my fist."
Sisi glared at him aggrievedly, then gave Thales a resentful look, snorted softly, and turned her head away.
But this time, the boy swayed his hips while shouting loudly and arrogantly:
"Old Raphael's business, you three, are looking for Miss Lillian!"
Golov and Komtou's expressions changed!
"I told you, keep a low profile!"
Kommut rushed forward, but remembering the other person's identity, his hand, which was halfway outstretched, trembled and fell to the ground.
Sisi gave a soft snort and swaggered down the corridor, loudly proclaiming without a care in the world:
"Oh, sorry! Master Raphael—you have to—keep a low profile!"
Glov was about to say something in anger when Thales pulled him back, preventing him from arguing with Sissi again.
“It’s alright,” Thales gave a stiff smile.
"Sisi, you just lead the way."
Commut coughed, no longer provoking the spoiled eunuch boy, and turned to whisper to Golov:
“Well, I think maybe you should be nicer to him…” Golov glared at him.
But just then, a door on one side opened.
A hand suddenly reached out and pressed down on Sisi's shoulder!
"Ouch!" Sisi shuddered dramatically, her face turning pale.
In the dim light, a burly, imposing man who looked menacing lifted the curtain and appeared before them.
The burly man was dressed in simple, understated dark clothing, and his face was also hidden under a cloak, making him look no different from a john who had come to sneak around seeking pleasure—just like the three of them.
"They...are looking for Lillian?"
The cloaked man's voice was rough and deep, filled with ill intent.
Seeing someone blocking their way, Golov and Commut frowned in unison and stepped forward to block Thales behind them.
"Oh dear, sir, you scared me to death..."
Sisi, panting to calm her breathing, took the opportunity to rub the other person's muscular forearm:
"Yes, look, it's this old man Raphael. He and his brothers specifically asked for Miss Lillian. What's wrong?"
The john under the cloak released his grip and slowly walked up to the three of them, sizing up the leader, Golov, in the dim light.
The zombie instinctively lowered its head, not wanting the other party to see its face clearly.
"So it's you three cowards who wanted Lillian to keep them company? Raphael?"
The burly john observed the two men's figures, then glanced at Thales behind them, and smiled disdainfully:
"If you ask me, you're a guard, accompanying some young master on an outing?"
Golov snorted coldly:
"none of your business."
Hearing the other person's aggressive tone, the guest under the cloak also changed his voice:
"So you're so skilled... Does that mean you were the one who came to see Lillian before?"
Golov hesitated for a moment, then glanced back at Thales:
"Yes, so what?"
But the guest sneered, a smirk playing on his lower lip peeking out from under his cloak:
"Well."
"I'll give you double."
The customer pulled out a heavy money bag and casually placed it into Sisi's hand:
"Lillian's on the house from afternoon to evening."
Golov's expression changed drastically.
Thales and Kommuto looked at the heavy money bag, exchanged a glance, and were speechless with helplessness.
Sisi weighed the money pouch in her hand, glanced inside, and her face immediately lit up with joy.
"Thank you, boss! You're so generous!"
The boy gave a thumbs-up, glanced at Golov defiantly, and quickly moved closer to the new guest.
"Alright, boss who's willing to pay double, please come with me. We welcome someone as generous and decisive as you..."
But unexpectedly, Golov suddenly looked up and grabbed Sissi, who was about to turn around!
"You want Lillian too?" the zombie said coldly.
“Yes,” the burly man sneered.
"From tonight onwards—I'm afraid she won't have time to keep you company."
Golov remained silent for a while.
Kommut cleared his throat: "Well, how about we switch..."
"three times!"
The zombie ignored Komuto completely. Suppressing his anger, he pulled out his money pouch and threw it to Sisi: "We'll pay three times!"
"You are dismissed."
Now it was Thales and Kommuto's turn to be taken aback.
"Uh, Raphael?"
Komuto hesitated, then patted Golov on the shoulder: "We'd better not..."
"So generous! So generous! Boss, you're even more generous!"
Sisi weighed the two money pouches in her hand, blinked with delight, and immediately stood back on the three-person side. She glanced back at the cloaked john and helplessly shrugged.
"Well, sir, since Master Raphael has put it that way, there's nothing I can do about it..."
"three times?"
The customer under the cloak sneered and stepped forward.
"What, you think you're so great just because you have money?"
Golov clenched his fists and snorted angrily.
The big man stood before Golov, his size no less than Golov's.
"Do you know who I am? You know that with a snap of my fingers, I can send you to jail, from tonight until next week..."
"I fucking care who you are."
Golov did not back down an inch, his face as cold as ice.
"Lillian is mine—no questions asked."
Golov and the other person exchanged a sharp, confrontational glance in the dim light.
“Very good,” the customer clicked his tongue, suppressing his rough voice, and pulled out another bank draft:
"Then I'll offer four times the amount—and if that's not enough, I'll add more."
"From today onwards, Lillian is mine, and I'll take care of her all by myself."
Sisi's brow twitched, but before she could calculate how much she could get her share, Golov spoke up again.
“No matter how many times it is, it won’t work,” the zombie took another step forward, almost touching the customer’s forehead, its words filled with a chilling threat:
"You, get out of here right now."
"Lillian is, and only is, mine."
The burly man said in a deep voice:
"Do you have the guts to say it again?"
“I said,” Golover retorted without backing down:
"You, get out."
Thales had never seen Golov so persistent. He and Commuto exchanged a glance and anxiously stepped forward:
"Golo-Raphael! We can't do this..."
But Golov seemed consumed by rage and ignored him.
Seeing that the situation was about to get out of control, Sisi, who was used to seeing guests fighting over girls, quickly raised her voice, trying to summon help:
“Hey, hey, this… uh, Mr. Lindbergh? You can’t say that. Leia Club has rules: all guests are guests…”
But he was immediately interrupted.
"and many more."
The client coldly raised his head, revealing a sharply defined chin:
He said, "What's your name?"
"Lindbergh?"
Golov laughed angrily.
“Raphael,” the zombie exuded an ominous aura, its eyes gleaming with menace, “Raphael Lindbergh.”
"What, you have an opinion?"
The customer gently turned his head.
His aura also changed.
"I have no opinion."
"It's just that someone with that name happens to work for thugs..." The client gently unbuttoned his cloak and began to loosen his knuckles:
"He has a grudge against me."
The cloaked man's tone was quite ominous.
Golov's gaze grew increasingly sharp, making even his usually stern face appear ferocious and menacing.
“Very good,” Golov said, clenching his fists alternately, his voice as cold as ice.
"Then I'll avenge him."
Seeing that the two of them were starting to move their hands and feet, Sisi cleverly took a step back.
As Sisi shouted, the doors in the corridor opened one after another, and curious heads peeked out from the cracks—mostly scantily clad, shapely young women—watching with great interest the impending conflict.
"Wow, it's for Lillian again?"
"Oh my, the top courtesan is just so lucky..."
"Who told her to be the one taking over the nanny's job..."
"It's probably Sisi up to her old tricks again..."
"Is he an aristocrat? Is he an aristocrat? The kind who's rich and powerful enough to keep me as a mistress?"
"Ah, these are both my types, I can accept both..."
"Tsk tsk, look at that money pouch, I reckon it has thirty gold coins..."
"Ah, we have some entertainment!"
"I bet on the one on the left to win..."
Whispering among themselves, Thales and Kommuto looked around, thinking to themselves that things were going to get bad.
The latter grabbed Golov's shoulder, but the zombie broke free.
“Step back,” Golov said coldly.
Give me thirty seconds.
"No need," the cloaked man said nonchalantly, shaking his head.
"Ten seconds is enough."
Thales was about to say something, but the next second, the big man and Golov moved at the same time!
boom!
A strong gust of wind scattered as the arms of the two burly men collided!
The cloaked giant blocked Golov's fist with his palm, and both of them frowned as they guessed each other's strength.
Kommuto only had time to pull Thales back, exasperated: "Damn it..."
"Looks like someone who's trained," the burly man thought, sensing the opponent's strength; his arm trembled slightly during the struggle.
"Have you served in the military?"
“Yes,” Golov, whose face was contorted with rage and whose eyes were fierce, said through gritted teeth, having already made his move.
"On your mother's bed."
The big man's eyes changed, and both of their fists retreated simultaneously before meeting again!
Boom!
This was the first time Thales had seen Golov fight: the vanguard's punches and kicks were offensive, ruthless, direct, and incredibly powerful. His punches, imbued with the power to finish off enemies, created a gust of wind wherever they went, making people tremble with fear.
But his opponent was clearly no weakling either. Facing the brutal, flesh-and-blood attacks, the cloaked pimp did not dodge or evade, but instead directly exchanged blows, and surprisingly, he did not fall behind at all.
Both fighters were unrestrained and aggressive, ignoring the punches landing on them, seemingly determined to fight to the bitter end.
"Damn it, this is also a Super-Tier, and its finishing power is offensively focused," Komuto said anxiously, shielding Thales.
"How are we going to handle this..."
Thales was also very troubled: they had only come to escape the Brotherhood's search, but they never expected that Grover, who was known for being taciturn and not good at socializing, would get into a fight here over someone's affections.
The two burly men made quite a commotion as they fought, and the onlookers behind the doors on both sides of the corridor watched with great interest, occasionally offering their comments.
"Oh dear! They've started fighting again! Come quick!"
"What about the Blood Bottle Gang? Don't they just take protection money and then do nothing?"
"Tink! Tinker, where are you? Order things up!"
"Granny Leia is going to have another headache..."
"Oh no, that's my favorite curtain..."
Boom!
The fist struck the body with a dull thud.
“Lillian is mine,” Golov grabbed the other man’s arm, slammed him against the wall, and gritted his teeth.
"You should stay away from her."
boom!
The cloaked john lunged forward, pinning Golov to the other side of the corridor:
"Heh, so you're one of those aristocratic playboys who come looking for Lillian? Bah, you don't even deserve to be called one!"
Deng!
With a deafening roar, Golov threw a hook punch, sending his opponent staggering backward, and roared:
"You, you are not, allowed to come looking for her again!"
The customer coughed up a few drops of blood, then pounced on him, knocking Golov down!
Wow!
“I should be the one saying that,” the two men fell to the ground, the customer struggling to cling to Golover’s neck, while Golover tried to prevent him from locking his neck.
“Lillian is free; she can be with whomever she wants…”
Golov countered with a somersault, pinning his opponent beneath him:
"Nonsense, are you going to get out of here or not—"
Within minutes, the two were fighting with all their might, completely absorbed in the battle, from exchanging punches and kicks to grappling on the ground, from grappling techniques to physical wrestling. Thales watched with a furrowed brow.
Kommut, who was watching from the sidelines, slapped his thigh in frustration:
"Damn it, this is never going to end."
He turned to look at Thales, who was frowning:
"Your Highness, please stay where you are. I need to take care of this."
Thales glanced at the two fighters, their blows creating a fierce and evenly matched exchange, and asked in bewilderment:
"you sure?"
Kommuto loosened his cloak and smiled nonchalantly:
"Small idea."
"You know, when I was still in the Inner City Guard Bureau, I saw a lot of these kinds of jealous and rivalry while protecting spoiled brats."
Thales still had doubts: "But—"
Kompany flexes his fist, looking confident:
"As long as we separate them and give both sides a way out..."
Before Thales could say anything more, Komuto had already charged into the fray:
"Have you had enough?!"
The guard used the close-quarters skills he had demonstrated during his sparring with Thales, throwing a punch on one side and a push on the other, perfectly separating Golov and his opponent and shoving them both into the wall.
The two men, panting, got up from the ground.
Komuto gave Thales a knowing smile, then reached out to stop the two men who were beating each other senseless, his tone filled with the solemn authority he had during his time in the Guard Hall:
"Listen up, all of you, we don't need to be here for a woman—"
But the next moment, Thales's expression changed.
Golov got up and roared as he threw a punch forward!
"Fuck you!"
The cloaked giant, leaning against the wall, turned around, his face contorted in a ferocious expression, and swung his elbow in a swift motion!
"Go away!"
boom!
Boom!
Kommuto, who was standing in the middle acting as a mediator, had not yet lost his smile when he was caught off guard and suffered two merciless blows, which made him shudder violently.
Thales felt the same way and covered his face in pain.
The next second, Komuto rolled his eyes and fell straight backward.
